History

Established in 2000.

Founded by Grace Steckler, Saving Grace Services began with just a pair of sneakers, a leash and a lot of determination.

Grace took her love for animals to the street and single-handedly provided responsible and loving pet care services to hundreds of busy Capitol Hill residents. Her clients loved her right back and provided the kind of word of mouth referrals and endorsements that led to steady and effortless growth.

Today, Saving Grace Services enjoys 5-star ratings across Capitol Hill and beyond, employing 5 managers and as many as 50 fully vetted walkers, pet sitters, and boarding providers. Our expansion has been so successful, we now have franchises in the NoMa and Hill East neighborhoods, with plans to grow throughout the National Capitol region.

Meet the Business Owner

Grace S.

Business Owner

After 12 years as a Sister of Christian Charity, Grace was moved to serve her community in a different way. When contemplating life after the Order, she wanted to work outdoors, connect directly to the people she served, and… well…she never wanted to wear nylons again!

She took her love for animals to the street and single-handedly provided responsible and loving pet care services to hundreds of busy Capitol Hill residents. (With some assistance from her husband David) She was so dedicated that, 5 years later, she walked 10 dogs on the day she went into labor with her first child!
