Just got to the area and I’ve already been to this place twice! I like it! The environment is cool and the food is great. They have a great selection of drinks and the bartenders, waitresses, and greeters are amazing. I went at lunch time on the first day and the bartender there was nice even with people ordering weird stuff like egg white drinks and non-breaded onion rings, and the second time I went for dinner and there were more people and live music with the same type of service from all! They make you feel at home and I’m probably going back again before I leave! Thanks y’all.

Quick, friendly service. I had the Kilkooly turkey sandwich. The turkey was thick and tasty(not the thin lunchmeat slices some places try to pass of as turkey). I finished the meal with the delicious Trinity pot, a creamy Bailey’s chocolate mousse

DONOTEATHERE! Last night me and my friends who are in our mid twenties tried to go inside to eat a late dinner. The bouncer took my friend’s IDs and said they were fake and put them in his pocket(he was very aggressive about this). When I told him that I was going to have to call the cops to get our IDs back he THREATENED me and said that if I called the cops then he would press charges. The cops finally came and we were able to get our IDs back. As we were leaving both the BOUNCER and the MANAGER couldn’t even look at us and simply apologize. I understand that this restaurant is in a college town and they have to be strict with IDs, but the way this was handled was aggressive and unacceptable. They clearly do not know how to train their employees on customer service. Out of the many wonderful restaurants in georgetown, I would go somewhere else and not waste your time here.

Hummus plate — the best! I like the bar area with the high top benches. Great for games. The rugby and soccer crowds are fun.

We’ve been here a few times and all I can say is – Dubliner burger and Banoffee pot. Do yourself a favor and don’t waste your time with anything else. Other items on the menu aren’t bad, they’re just not nearly as tasty as these two. The atmosphere is nice, with plenty of Irish music playing in the background. We’ve had both fantastic servers and servers that probably should have been at home nursing their hangovers. There was one time we went and the men’s bathroom looked like the first scene from Trainspotting(granted that was a Scottish pub and this is an Irish one).

This was my first time dining at an Irish Pub and I was pleasantly surprised at everything that they offered! The atmosphere was very upscale pub-ish. The restaurant had dark oak wood on the walls and floors but the chairs and booths were all a very nice red color(almost like Unilocal red). We were greeted right away by our server, Danny, with some water and welcomed us to the restaurant. Being in an Irish Pub, the amount of booze that they had on their menu was pretty extensive! My boyfriend and I both ordered a beer and ordered their Traditional Potato Cakes as an appetizer which were absolutely amazing! They were very fluffy and hearty and had a delicious sour cream topping along with a drizzle of balsamic reduction. Onto the second course, my boyfriend got the potato & leek soup which he said was light and flavorful and the more you ate it, the fuller you got and well as the side of mac and cheese. I got the herbivore sliders, which were absolutely fantastic! Normally I am very cautious about veggie burgers because they are dried out and just fall apart on you but Rí Rá’s veggie sliders were perfect. They were the happy-medium between dry and moist and the sun dried tomato tapenade rounded out the whole meal. Service was great, Danny was very knowledgeable in the food menu as well as the translation behind the restaurant name! It basically means«King/Queen of a good time» and that is exactly was we had! Everything came out timely and we didn’t feel rushed nor ignored during our whole dining experience.

This is one of our favorite places. We go every week. Have had several of the dishes and all have been good(Fish and Chips, Dubliner Burger, Beef and Guinness Pie). The Beef and Guinness Pie is often vegetable pie so I stopped ordering it. Local beer as well as standard Irish Beer on tap.

Fish and chips undercooked. Lots of older dudes in kakhis. Friendly staff. Quite possibly better options in this area.

Nice service. Attentive and pleasant. Great live Irish music. Dark wood and brass with club chairs make for lovely ambiance. Didn’t get up to the whisky room but hear it’s fantastic. Late night snacks of fish and chips and shrimp with a few Moscow mules. Yummy and highly recommended. Would absolutely return on a future trip to DC.

I was on an interview and became hungry afterwards so I came here!. The customer service was great looking over the menu I saw curry chicken and decided to try it, was a bit skeptical but it was actually very good and tender thick cuts of chicken, so much I couldn’t even finish it. Next Up I MUST try their burgers and beer. I’d definitely recommend this place for a happy hour or chill out spot.

This place was bloody amazing! A full whiskey room with flights available. Don’t worry, you can get the full menu in the whiskey room. We got the fish and chips and the lamb lollichops. The fish was huge, a full fried filet The lollichops were a bit rare for my taste, but seasoned perfectly. They both paired well with the World Tour flight we ordered. No complaints. None.

First off, come into the restaurant and they tell me I don’t have a reservation. I called the day before and spoke to the hostess 3 separate times confirming our 8:15 reservation for 16. Arrive at 8:05 and they tell us there is, in fact, no reservation and they can’t accommodate us. After explaining the reservation they sit us at a table equipped for 12 right near the service door. We finally are seated at our table and the drink orders are placed. Everything goes smoothly. Then, they take our dinner orders, smooth enough. When the food finally arrives after a long time, it’s nothing special. Fine, expected. At par pub food. Overpriced drinks When it comes to service and the wait for the checks, absolutely insane. I’ve never met a more incompetent waitress in my life. If she wasn’t equipped to wait on a table with 16 people they should have put 2 people on the table. Waiting for our check for OVERANHOUR. Manager was extremely rude and the entire staff was not friendly or efficient in the least. Overall, average food, meh overpriced drinks, and absolutely terrible service. There’s definitely better places out there, especially in this area. Would not recommend to my worst enemy

I love the atmosphere here. It has an old pub feel, but very bougey, very old DC. It’s a bit pricey. I got fish and chips, which were $ 16. Other than the prices, I loved it! Their Irish coffees are awesome!

Great place! Wandered in here randomly for some drinks and ended up staying a long time. The staff and service was awesome — very friendly and helpful. Whiskey drinkers — this is your spot! I am not one but still fared well with my preferred vodka cocktails. We ended up staying for dinner as well. We share the veggie burger sliders(yum!), goat cheese(yum if you love goat cheese) and the potato pancakes(good but not amazing). Ambiance was great and largely why we ended up there for so long. Highly recommend and it looks like they do live music regularly as well. Great spot in Georgetown !!

Ri Ra is an extremely classy looking restaurant. The chandeliers, hanging from the ornate ceiling, complement the woodwork very well. You can clearly tell that they paid a lot of attention to the décor of the restaurant. Unfortunately, they don’t pay that much attention to the quality of their food. The food here is decent but varies. The chicken strips and the cheese dip were very good. But for my entrée, I had the strip steak. I had requested that it be medium-rare, but half of it was pretty much well done. Moreover, I felt that the blue cheese over-powered the taste of my poorly cooked steak.

Gorgeous upstairs bar that remained fairly empty at 7pm. I was feeling a bit queasy but the bartender whipped me up a simple drink of Hendrick’s, Fever Tree ginger ale, and cucumber. Five stars for the ambiance and service.

Came here for lunch on a Saturday afternoon. Nice, bright and clean establishment. We were seated right away. We got a new server, as in newbie… She was friendly and really tried her best. We found it entertaining and it did not affect our dining experience. Lots of choices on their menu. We opted for the potato pancakes to share, Mac and cheese to share and an order corn beef and hash on their brunch menu. It was the right amount for 3 people. The potato pancakes are 2 thick patties of potatoes with a dab of sour cream, tasty! The Mac and cheese was an ok size portion but very rich. If we were really hungry, it’s not enough for 2 people to share. It tasted more cream of mushroomy rather than cheesy… But it was still good. The corn beef was good, devoured it. Kinda pricey for what you get. We would definitely come back to try more on the menu and cocktails too!

I came here for a small bite and was sitting by the bar upstairs. I think the place is beautiful in an old school way. We tried the lamb sliders with the brownie baked in cast iron pan, as well as some bourbon. Everything was fantastic! I would definitely come back for the food, drunks, atmosphere and live music!

Nice place for a drink, not for food.(or at least — not for veggie food) I went to Ri Ra on Sunday evening. The place was pretty quite and calm, not many people. I liked how the place looks, indeed kind of an Irish bar looks, but less Irish bar atmosphere — as the place was pretty quite. The service was pretty good. I took a porter beer from their special menu and I really liked it! as well as the price($ 6.5). The food however, was pretty bad and very expensive compared to what I got. I took the veggie pie(I was debating between the veggie burgers and the veggie pie, and chose the pie due to the waitress recommendation). Well, I didn’t like it. The pastry shell — looked so nice, but tasted so bad… I only took 2 bites of that and then removed it all. The bottom part of the pie contained white beans, mushrooms, onion, peas, carrot with tomato broth. It was OK and I ate it all(also because I was super hungry), but no more than that, and I wouldn’t recommend this dish to anybody. And if this dish was the better option, well… Also, I felt the price was high for what I got($ 16). But anyway, it’s nice place for a beer(or whiskey), so… make your choice :)
