Worst beef shawarma I ever had. Obviously they use very low grade meat (chewy, stringy, weird after taste…). Tabouleh was terrible too, it was everything it is not supposed to be. This is the first time I see this dish made with a ton of tomatoes, a bit of parsley (wasn’t finely chopped at all) hard burgul (cracked under my teeth). It didn’t even have any lemon or salt on it. They didn’t have salt! This disgusting food wasn’t cheap either! I had a few bites and threw it away.

Red Toque Café is a nice addition to the shawarma scene in Georgetown. We tried the chicken shawarma and it was good. The Lebanese man running the shop was very kind and friendly. You can see him making the shawarma and everything that goes inside which was nice. Looking forward to going back to try the beef version.
We also tried the beef samosa which were delicious and some of the best samosa I’ve ever had! I thought it was expensive at $ 6 for samosa but it comes with two really big ones cooked perfectly. The samosa sauce was also very good and not spicy.
No where to sit inside as this seems to be more of a take-​away spot but there are two tables in front of the restaurant and also just down Wisconsin and across K Street is plenty of seating by the water fountain and on the waterfront.
Certainly a nice new spot for lunch in this part of Georgetown.
