Came in on a Wednesday night(night before Thanksgiving) with a couple of friends. No complaints here but also nothing special. There was plenty of seating and they were relatively comfortable. The service here was kind of awkward though. We asked if this place sold beers and the guy looked at us like we asked the most stupid question. Then we asked if we could get a menu or something and he completely forgot about it. The price here wasn’t too bad either. It was about $ 20 for 1 hookah and no cover charge like many other reviews wrote(probably because it was a Wednesday). Overall I have no complaints with this hookah spot. It was my first time there and we went after drinking at the bar nearby. A solid place to continue the night and then end it with a jumbo slice pizza next door!

The BEST music and nice atmosphere! They do not serve drinks here but have other offerings. There are many different flavor a to pick from for the hookah. The couches are comfortable.

I’m from California and I just got here in DC. First thing I did come to this place. I love the vibe, the place, the hookah. The manager is very supportive and helpful. I love the warm welcoming from this place. I recommend everyone who sees this to atleast come and give it a shot.

One of the worst experiences at a hookah place and I go to hookah places often. The bathrooms are filthy with leaks, pungent odors, and a lack of sanitation. They charge for service(even though it’s terrible) automatically and only take cash(a way to evade taxes I’m sure) and the place is very dirty. Nice people, but never going back again.

THEWORSTEXPERIENCEEVER! Was charged 5 at the door. Couches are disgusting the woman refused to give us the student discount that was on the menu and cussed when we asked her to explain our bill. Then when we asked for a manager they didn’t have one. Receipts are hand written… And calculated with 7+ tip! If you want to have a good night avoid this«business».

WHAT. Amazing music, late night spot. No alcohol, which is why they can stay open so late. Translation: No drama. The music here is so fun, and the crowd eclectic — it reminds me of home(NYC) a bit. Just people chilling. Just have a BALL here. And chill.

Tonight was my first experience here. I am new to the area and I am auditioning Hookah spots. We went around 7:30 on a Saturday and it wasn’t crowded at all. Good hookah, a little strong for us but delicious. The owner talked to my friends and I for awhile and he was very gracious. The only reason I didn’t give 5 stars is because the service was a little slow after the initial hookah drop-off, but I’m willing to chalk that up to it being due to the World Cup game going on. No alcohol available but that’s ok, we will definitely return!

A-OK. Nice place to chill and relax with friends on an evening… I believe you have to pay in cash but there is an ATM right in the café.

Vertu chill spot and the service is awesome! Plenty of seating options but not the morpst comfortable. I’m not into the really sunk in couches but I guess others enjoy them. Prices were really good and we got few tea for shimming a little. I recommend this place.

While in DC, I wanted to check out a good spot to relax and smoke some hookah. I found this place thanks to Unilocal and made the walk. It was a little hard to find as it is in a basement of a street riddled with business signs. Luckily I found the right spot and walked in. There were multiple tv’s showing different things. I sat down in front of one playing a remix of a Britney Spears song. Don’t judge. It was a really good remix. The double apple tasted about as good as anywhere else but what I didn’t like was this place only took cash. It had an ATM inside, but that charged you $ 3.50 to pull money out. Lame. If I had more time, I would have checked out other hookah bars for comparison but based on the places I’ve been in other cities, this is an average hookah spot. Works good if you are in the neighborhood… just don’t forget your cash!

This place is very chill and laid back. The hookahs are very pretty and the taste of the tobacco was good. They give all member of the party their own plastic tips if you are the germ a phob! It is in the basement of an old building. If dingy basements are something you can not handle DONOT come here! The service was nice and the lady even gave us some complimentary tea because it was cold outside! The cinnamon cardamon tea was quite delicious! The music was a mix that had obviously been cheaply downloaded but did’t bother us any! This is not a place I would come on the regular but it was a fun place to try out. BTW the bathroom is definitely a «squat» only if you know what I mean ladies!

Came here with some friends after soussi didnt have room at their second level lounge. Had a great time, the shisha was good all throughout the night. Server suggested the apple cranberry mix, great combination. It costs about $ 21 total for one hookah which they limit to two people. House rules also don’t allow beer which was a bit of a bummer. Music was great, 2000s pop, hip hop, rnb. Altogether, nice place, will revisit tip once I try out other venues.

The hookah was very good, and the atmosphere is very relaxing. I highly recommend it. The one thing is they don’t have a lot of food options so if you are going go for the hookah and drinks and nothing else. They also play good music(nas, jay z, beyonce)

Went here Friday night, paid the $ 2.00 cover at the door and the highlight was the rat that was laying on the sofa amongst the cushions right across from us! The manager tries to scoop the rat up in a dustpan as he’s running all around the lounge! People were screaming and up on chairs, disgusting! No discounts or apologies given. Never again! I still cannot believe the rat was just chilling on the sofa until someone just so happened to notice it, it wasn’t a mouse either it was a rat!!! Absolutely insane, we can laugh about it, but I’ve never experienced anything like that before, EVER!

Worst hookah bar I’ve been too. Seating was fast. Shisha was eh and on top of that the staff is annoying as fuck and rude. Only descent and profession person was the male owner. They don’t serve food in the evening. never ever been to a hookah bar that never served food in the evening so that was shocking. We even had to leave just to get change because they didn’t have change to give out. We had to have exact cash. Like wtf??? There are like 30 people in here and ya’ll operate daily and you have no change. Never coming to this piece of crap place again…

I’ve been coming here for three years. The shisha is good quality, the staff is friendly and the crowd laid back. Their tea is pretty good, though having a glass per pot sort of puts a damper on the social aspect of tea-drinking. The party atmosphere is sometimes a little more than I like while smoking some argileh, but its a good place to go if you’re looking for a late-night activity and have enough friends to split the cost of the argileh. It was a fixture in my college social experience.

QUEEN’S CAFÉ I’ve been coming here for years. I guess you could say I’m a regular. Queens provides you with two very different atmospheres. During the day you can chill unmolested for hours reading the paper, catching up on work, or watching the game. At night things are a bit more lively — red lights and ambient Middle-Eastern music make for easy group conversation or an ideal first date. Think Egyptian murals, plush cushions and incense. They offer a wide selection of generously packed hookahs(it’s all about the double apple with a citrus kicker) and attentively replace the coal. Their hookah is for people that know and enjoy good flavored tobacco. They keep the pipes and bases very clean, which counts for a lot. Queens doesn’t serve alcohol, but they do have an interesting drink menu — mint teas, Turkish coffee, and tropical fruit juices. And they’re dead cheap. The vibe at Queens is very casual — it has the worn in charm of a college apartment. The owner, Nadi, is a very congenial guy and always there to greet you with a smile and a complimentary round of tea for first timers.

Not at all trendy, but the layout is a typical arabian nights style shisha joint. Low tables with equally low padded seating running the length of the walls. Friendly staff, although it is a little dingy in there. The bathrooms are a little nasty too, and doors are difficult to close properly. Perhaps when the place first opened it was decent, but I think they’ve let it go a bit. The smoking was acceptable. My biggest complaint is only that they don’t accept credit cards, but they do have an ATM next to the front door.
