ABANDONED? I’ve read whispers this park contained an ice skating rink during colder temps, but during my summer visit it just looked like an almost-forgotten, unkept, park. BUTITHASPOTENTIAL With more stone than trees and plenty of benches, this park could serve more as a gathering place(like outdoor markets? Food trucks?) with the great memorial to General Pershing watching from the corner. It’s also located very close to the White House. BUTIT’S CURRENTSUMMERAPPEARANCE Water fountains didn’t deliver any water. Rain from last night didn’t drain and instead lay unmoving in pools at the ground level. Trash blew in the wind. Even the permanent building near the center looked trashed. Compared to many of the great parks nearby it didn’t look like this one was being cared for. Wasted potential.

I have never skated at Pershing park. I remember watching people skate around the area many years ago. You can’t do that anymore. Pershing Park is a beautiful place to chill. It is located across from the Willard Hotel and near Freedom Plaza. It is really nice. There used to be a pond with ducks but it looks filled in now. It is always nice to have a park feeling in the middle of the city. I love the park. It is a great place to people watch. If you are sight seeing and need a place to regroup while you decide if you are going to visit the Washington Monument or the Reagan Visitor’s Center, this is the perfect spot. If you don’t want to buy a snack from a vendor, there is a CVS a block away and the food court at the Press Club building on 14th Street, NW.

This is a park adjacent to the Willard Hotel and President’s Park. The benches have individual seats(making it difficult for street people to slumber there). Visiting in the spring showed no signs of an ice rink.

Well clearly this place is no longer an ice rink but I love coming here! My friends and I come here every weekend and we tend to drive people away. Were all a bunch of black, skateboarding, shuffling, twerking, raving weirdos and people dont find that inviting. You can pretty much say we run pershing. lmao Ooo, how could I forget yu-gi-oh nerds lmao and yes were all over color, again!

Great Ice Skating rink. $ 6.50 for admission and during the holiday season they’re open until 11pm. Right off of the Metro-Center station. They also serve hot cocoa which is a great treat when it’s super-cold. The rink is a bit small but always in great condition, and the staff are always very friendly and helpful.
