Standard sports bar. The food is alright and service was decent. I visited during lunchtime and ordered the grilled chicken caesar salad and it was decent, though a smaller portion than I’d expected and a bit overpriced ($ 13). I would recommend visiting for happy hour to get better deals. It’s probably a really fun place during a sports game and they have tons of big TVs around, but it was just mediocre for lunch and it’s actually smaller than I’d expected!

I was so excited to visit this sports bar my husband had being raving about for months. We went this past Sunday to watch our Broncos destroyed the Stealers! So it was a chaotic Sunday, I get it. While my husband went to park I decided to step in to check out the place. I first walked in and see the waitress who looked super overwhelmed, so I gave her some space & waited for her to have a spare second, when all the sudden she just snapped at me, telling me the place was packed (obviously) and to go to try to fish a table myself, if I had any luck! This was my very first time visiting and if she would’ve let me talk, my only question was just that, if I needed to wait or if I could just go in and try find a spot. Needless to say my excitement turned into embarrassment, a total joy kill. We ended up leaving and find a less cranky waitress. Hopefully next time we try again she’ll be happier.

Sooooooooo I hosted a promotion party here recently. It was on a short list of venues that I had to choose from. From the moment I walked in to get a feel for the place I fell in love with it. I know my way around a bar and this place is special. After ordering a drink I asked to see the manager. Brent came and I told him what I wanted to do and he was more than accommodating. I chose a variety of different foods to serve at the party and everything tasted great.
I had only shot for 30 people but more than one hundred showed up and the staff continues to be accommodating. We had the upstairs blocked for four hours but stayed four more hours without any problem or hassle
This is the perfect bar with the perfect staff. They made a stressful day go smooth and easy. THANK YOU Penn Quarter.

I was in town on a NFL football Sunday and had to see my Buffalo Bills play. If you’re a Buffalo Bills fan outside of Western New York you can count on spending your Sunday’s at a sports bar with the NFL package, it’s just the way it is.
I do what you’re doing now and Unilocaled sports bars. Read a couple reviews and figure this will work.
So we roll up and everyone I see is wearing Denver Broncos jerseys. Damn! Nobody mentioned this was a Broncos bar in the reviews I read. A member of the staff saw the confused look on my face as I just left a taxi and all the TV were focused on a game I didn’t care anything about. He said if you don’t want to watch the Broncos game head upstairs and all the games are on.
The Bills lost to the Bengals, so I wasn’t happy about that. But that’s par for the course being a Buffalo Bills fan.
It’s a good spot to watch the game but if you ain’t rooting for the Broncos, head up stairs and they’ll care of you.
Good food and great service but my reason for the visit was to watch the game.

Love this Pub! Went here for lunch with a friend and had the Salmon! Sooo great! The bartender was awesome and the cute lil blonde was just so sweet! I will be back! Not a threat! It’s a promise

Wandered in after a work event for a couple of drinks and a bite to eat. They have a ton of tv’s and show all the games — for a Thurs night this was NFL, college ball, hockey. Very casual and a typical bar menu. We had nachos (chili and guac on the side — no complaints about the request) and pretzel sticks with mustard and cheeses. Pretzel sticks could have been warmer, but were soft and the habanero cheese sauce was thick with a nice kick. The other cheese was mild and the mustard was like a deli spicy. Enjoy!

I was super impressed by the food at Penn Quarter Sports Tavern, but the service definitely left something to be desired. My husband and I had no idea if we were supposed to wait to be seated or seat ourselves when walking in to the outdoor seating area. We waited for a few minutes before one of the waiters told us we could sit anywhere.
I ordered the four cheese personal pizza and my husband ordered the steakhouse burger. We were both impressed by how quickly the food came out and it’s quality. I was only able to eat about half of my pizza, but I found myself wishing I could stomach more! It was delicious!
We were served quickly, but it took FOREVER to get our check. The waiter was talking, checking his phone, and bussing tables instead of getting us our check. I heard two other tables ask for their check, and I got the waiter’s attention to ask for our check as well. It took about 10 more minutes after we asked before we got our check.

After doing some research this seemed like the perfect place in DC to likely catch a college football game I was hoping to see. We wanted to see our Georgia Bulldogs play late one Saturday. We met with some new friends and as the upstairs was understandably loud it turned out to be the perfect place for conversation and celebration. My biggest concern was quickly erased when I noticed the walls of TVs seemingly everywhere. Under the table, maybe. above the urinals, definitely. Also, the staff was excellent and obviously well trained in tuning into starting games and keeping everyone interested, even hockey fans… Also, Penn Quarter serves as a hub for many alumni ex pats so don’t be surprised when you are suddenly greeted by an enthusiastic large group of similarly dressed fans. Our service and food were well above the standards for what I expected for a sports bar and have sold us as fans. Thanks!

This is the perfect place to go for football on a Sunday! I have been here several times before for food and drinks… but yesterday was my first Sunday football experience. They had every single NFL game playing! There are TONS of screens all over… so you won’t miss a second of the action! The service was awesome and the crowd was equally friendly and fun to be around. Perfect atmosphere. They even had outdoor seating and TVs for people to view the games from. If you’re a Broncco’s fan you will definitely be happy because it’s a Broncos bar… But fans of other teams will enjoy this place too. They have an upstairs and a downstairs… but get there early to secure a seat. It might be tricky because the place is popular. You might want to avoid bringing a big group. They serve typical bar fare… nachos, wraps, pizza, wings… and the food is good… the beer is cold. and you will have a perfect Sunday-​Funday!

The food was really good! Surprised by the low rating. The jumbo shrimp was full of flavor and not bland like most places. The steak & cheese sandwich with peppers was fresh and super tasty. It came with their homemade potato chips which were crunchy and very good. The cheeseburger I got was average not bad, but not memorable. The bun was of a sweet type which was a good change and did spruce the burger up a bit. The fries were not that great, tolerable with ketchup. This place had a nice selection of burgers, but I definitely found the other dishes much more delectable.

Awesome atmosphere for Sunday football. The walls are lined with more than enough TVs so you have solid view of the games anywhere you are. This place gets PACKED and tables are first come first serve. Solid shrimp tacos.

Shrimp Tacos and Comos! Just a chill spot for people watching and bar snacks. The shrimp Tacos are fresh and spicy. We dined al fresco and enjoyed the cool summer evening. He had the Old Bay wings (allergic to shrimp) I scarfed down my three tacos with fresh avocado and pico like nobodies business! Happy hour drinks are perfectly priced and quite potent! Over all great with a mix of tourists and government workers getting the evening off to a great start! Come for the service and the cocktails! Yes…

Love this place, service was good, food was good, atmosphere was good; no complaints.
I had the mahi mahi sandwich and Caesar salad. It was really good. I did have to eat the sandwich with a fork but that’s nothing to complain about. My son had the 4 cheese pizza and it was in his words «amazing and fills you up really quick».
Loved the atmosphere and rock music played, still singing, «you take it on the run baby, cause that’s the way you want it baby»:-)

I’m from out of town and stumbled upon this place. Let me start with the atmosphere, very easy going and not too loud and plenty of tv’s with a variety of sports. Waitress was nice, responsive and on time. The food was great, came out exactly how I ordered it. After eating, I didn’t regret it, which happens with burgers normally.
The star employee is the bus boy, this guy is attentive and spot on. The guy in front of me spilled his entire beer with little fanfare and this guy was there in seconds handling it. He cleared my plate right away and wasn’t annoying.
Then the bathroom, are you serious? Best urinals (I know, can you have a favorite one? But I do) and best had dryer, clean and stocked. It was the perfect experience for a picky person like me. Whenever I visit, I’ll be coming here.

Looking for a Blackhawks bar to watch game 7 of the Western Conference Finals, we found this spot after a quick Google search. We weren’t sure what to expect but we were all immediately impressed with the layout. As you walk in, you walk through the outdoor seating area with huge flat screens, couches and high-​top tables. I cant speak in regards to the downstairs area because we were told the Blackhawks section was upstairs but I can say the upstairs was freakin’ awesome. Flat screens cover every inch of the walls so there isn’t a bad seat in the house. The food is extremely delicious and the staff is super friendly. They even have TVs in the bathroom above each urinal so you dont miss a single second of action. We had a blast watching the Blackhawks reach the finals with a hundred other screaming fans at this fine establishment.

Not very good. Of all the places in the area, I have no idea why this was selected for the event I was at. Had we had the private upstairs area (which is actually incredibly nice and looks like a completely different restaurant from the one downstairs) I probably would’ve had a slightly different opinion. But, downstairs is tiny and cramped. The food was completely lackluster. Anytime I don’t find pizza edible is a pretty rare and sad experience. The caesar salad was not good. The pretzel sticks would’ve probably been ok had they not been burnt. The wings and the nachos were probably the only saving grace. Drinks were ok and are on-​par with drink prices in DC.
Excluding the waitress with the blonde/​blue hair, who was very helpful, everyone else who we encountered seemed either apathetic or just in a daze.
All the tourists who were here seemed to like it though…

This is my go-​to neighborhood bar/​sports bar. The food is better than you’d expect for a sports bar and they have daily ½ off specials as well. The staff is cool as can be and on top of their game. Can’t recommend this place enough.

My coworkers love to come here for lunch and happy hour but I’m more of a meh it’s whatever but not my first choice. I remember coming here a few years ago and remember the sticky wooden floors and alcohol smell and crazy almost «aloof» staff I had encountered. It’s decent for an über casual happy hour spot with almost too good to be true prices on pitchers and drinks and that’s just about it. There’s typical bar fare– lukewarm wings and sandwiches, soggy fries and pizza. Coworkers love it because it’s cheap for lunch and happy hour but for me, there’s got to be something more.
Be sure to check your bill, they automatically add gratuity at the bar if you come in with a large group and open your own tab. I tip anyway and on top of this, saw it after and felt a bit deceived. I get gratuity for large groups at tables but at the bar?

Just came to Penn Quarter for brunch. great brunch menu (and affordable!) The breakfast tacos were phenomenal!
Also, they have newly renovated bathrooms that don’t compare to anything I’ve seen in DC! Very modern and super clean!

I might be a little biased, as this is a Seahawks bar, but truly, I don’t know of a better sports bar in DC.
It’s a great size – two floors and an outdoor section that is covered in winter. All of the bar tenders are extremely nice and the prices aren’t bad.
If you do go there for a game, I have two specific pieces of advice:
(1) either don’t expect to sit, go in extra early, or make friends with a fan of a team whose game is right before your teams scheduled time. The only way I’ve ever found a seat is by politely asking someone to save their seat for you.
(2) look out for half time. They typically have hello shots in the color of the team playing.
