Peacock Café is a tradition in Georgetown life. Nestled in the heart of the neighborhood, we serve a menu inspired by classic American cuisine with the volume turned up. Our sidewalk seating is a local hotspot for the who’s who of Georgetown regulars during the seasonal weather, and we’re proud to house one of the top brunches in the city.
Founded by James Beard award-winner Chef Maziar Fariver, our eclectic menu offers something for everyone, including extensive gluten-free and vegetarian dishes. We proudly purchase and use some of the finest quality raw ingredients available in the market and are committed to supporting sustainable farming and fishing. Some customer favorites include the Omelet Chesapeake, burgers with extra crispy peacock fries, and drinks from the Fresh Juice Bar.

Established in 1991.
Since 1991, Peacock Café has been the cornerstone of the Georgetown neighborhood for over 20 years. Our mission is to serve high quality, classic American fare in a vibrant and friendly setting, and we are committed to supporting sustainable farming and fishing by purchasing ingredients that are fresh, organic, cage-free, free of growth hormones, and USDA certified. With many years of a colorful history, we look forward to serving our locals for many years to come!

With a strong background in the restaurant business, Shahab Farivar opened Peacock Café in June 1991 with his brother Maziar Farivar as the executive chef. Bringing all the flavors of his childhood memories and family recipes together from over 32 years of experience, Shahab and his brother began a new culinary chapter at the popular neighborhood staple that houses one of the first fresh juice bars in the city. His dream was always to provide high quality food and excellent service at a moderate price, and he looks forward to making all Peacock Café fans proud for many years to come.
