I made an appointment at Patou’s in search of a Trichologist; after eight years of wearing locs my crown had suffered severe thinning. I was somewhat disappointed with the consultation there was no private room to discuss my thinning issues and it appeared that Patou didn’t really have the time to discuss any treatment options or diagnosis for my issue. Instead, I was given a texturizer to loosen my tight coils and was advised to purchase four hair care products for daily maintenance. I’m out of $ 154 and no proper trichologist treatment plan.

I moved here in August from Los Angeles and found Patou Salon on line. Patou is amazing. She really knows how to care for hair. She uses the best quality hair products on your hair even if you have a lot of hair like I do. I’m always happy with the look and feel of my hair every time I leave her salon! Make sure to schedule your appointment a few weeks before. She has a lot of customers. But she always starts your appointment on time! That is a big plus for me!

I did not realize it had been almost four years since I wrote this review, but to give an update my hair is at the healthiest it has been. It is in the middle of my back right now, started out around chin length with bald patches. I actually have an appointment this Saturday with her! Instead of buying the products in her shop, look on Amazon for way cheaper prices. I know she has to double to triple her price, but I am frugal.

I love my hair!!! Patou expertly practices both the art and the science of hair care. I’ve been going to this shop for over a year and my hair and scalp have never been healthier. I have fine kinky-curly hair and haven’t used a relaxer for 15 years. I initially sought Patou’s services for a trichology consultation regarding my flaky scalp and hair loss. She showed me which products I should keep using and introduced me to new products and techniques I could use at home. At the time, my hair fell to just below my shoulders and I’d go in for a scalp treatment and blow dry. The quality of the work and condition of my hair afterward was much better than after a blow dry that one may get at many of the«Dominican Style» salons in the area. The prices are comparable. When I wanted to cut my hair off, Patou and most of her staff tried to talk me out of it. I guess when you spend your life trying to help people grow hair you’re not big on seeing it cut off. In any case, she gave me a cute, stylish and easy to care for cut that I love and for which I’ve received tons of compliments. I recommend this shop to all of my friends.
