Pan Am Cab & Imperial Cab Company

I was in car K349 and the driver talked on his phone the whole time without a hands free (and it was raining!). Either way that is rude. He smelled gross. Didn’t put on music, didn’t ask about the temperature. He also told me cash only. Well I didn’t have cash and it’s illegal not to take credit cards now. Can you say UBER!!! This is a very common experience in DC taxis unfortunately.

My drive was just slow and expensive for 2.4 miles it was $ 14
the annoyance was trying to use verifone card reader – it wouldn’t accept the card – but it did recognize the fact that I put the card through 3x and refused it. I tried another card and same problem. THe driver then switched the number off He started yelling at me that I didn’t know to use the system. He was older and african. Imperial cab, brown caprice classic, number may have 283

Horrible experience with Imperial Cab #220. The driver was reckless and dangerous driving and took us out of our way to run up the meter. Very scary and costly trip. Never use this cab service!

Had a driver in a Pan Am cab this morning who was not only rude, but was downright hostile — indeed, scary — acted like a crazy person! He was screaming at me and would not allow me to respond. His rage was totally unprovoked. Believe me, I will never get in a Pan Am or Imperial cab again!

I flagged Inperial Cab #103 at about 8:05 this morning. Told the driver I wanted to go down 14^th st NW then take a left on Military road. The driver started to go a different way and I had to stop him and tell him once again the way I wanted to travel. About 5 minutes later the driver started yelling «NO, NO, TOO MUCH TRAFFiC, IM GOING ANOTHER WAY». The traffic was not bad and I told him I didn’t want to go a different way. The driver started screaming at me to pay him and get out of his cab and that he would not take me. I also decided to take down his cab license number that was on the visor (65 007) and file a complain with DC. I wasn’t surprised that under the license number was the expiration date…(11/15/10)
How are drivers able to drive when their cab license have been expired over a year???

I took two rides in Imperial Cabs (brown car, white lettering) this weekend. Exact same route– started at W Hotel, ended at Newseum front door. Drivers charged me two different fares and BOTH of them self-​tipped. They literally each kept a buck+ from my change. It was pretty brassy. Avoid the brown cabs!

I work in hospitality and a guest just came in and said she was accosted and vastly overcharged by the same cab, #205, and I tried to call and complain and also could not reach anyone. This is completely inappropriate and I am furious that I cannot do more than write an angry Unilocal review. Shame on you #205.

Just took a ride in Imperial Cab #205. Our cab driver couldn’t manage to stay in his lane, nearly hit several cars, and almost hit several people. On top of that, he tried to overcharge us and became irate when we wouldn’t pay him what he demanded. My friends and I are 99.9% positive he was on something, tried to call the cab company to tell them he shouldn’t be on the road, and didn’t reach anyone. I’ll never take any Imperial Cab again.

I just took a Pan Am cab, and the driver tried to charge me a bogus $ 5 «night charge» onto a $ 7 fare. Avoid!
