We design and make Custom Wedding Dresses; Mother of the Bride/​Groom Dresses and Suits. We are an authorized reseller for the Dessy Group of fine bridesmaid dresses (After Six, Lela Rose; Alfred Sung, Dessy Collection); flower girl outfits and all their accessories. And we make Custom Men’s Suits. We also design prom dresses, and evening wear, especially for women 40 and up.

History

Established in 2004.

New Couture designer, Alvin T, began his fashion career at age 15, when he apprenticed with Italian designer Nunzio Salvi. After training at the Fashion Institute of Technology in New York City, he went to work with Mr. Salvi in his shop. At first the shop was located on Connecticut Ave in DC but then it moved to 18^th St NW, also in DC, where it remained for many years. After Mr. Salvi’s passing, Mr. T. moved his operation to Upper Northwest DC and formed New Couture, Inc. with his partner, John D. All told, Mr. T has more than 40 years experience in the Fashion Industry.

Manager

Designer Alvin T. has more than 40 years experience in the fashion industry. He started at about age 15 with Mr. Nunzio Salvi, a designer of Italian descent, who came to America from Florence. At first Alvin T. worked at the shop on Connecticut Ave in Northwest DC. Then Alvin went off to the Fashion Institute of Technology if New York City. When he returned he continued working with Mr. Salvi in his new location on 18^th St, again in Northwest DC. After Mr. Salvi passed away, Mr. T. moved his operation to upperNorthwest DC, where he continues to create high-​quality custom clothing, with an emphasis on wedding fashion for men and women.
