Description

Specialties

Mission: Launch, Inc. transforms the lives of women and men returning home from prison and/or jails in America who are committed to scripting a new narrative for their own lives.

Mission: Launch believes once a person has successfully completed their prison sentence they need to be quickly reintegrated back into society. To that end, we help individuals identify their unique, marketable talents in order to create supplementary and/or sustainable wages, often as entrepreneurs. Our programs include technical/coding training, entrepreneurship training, professional mentoring and business incubation and leadership development.

Additionally, we founded and managed the Rebuilding Re-Entry Coalition. A collective of thinkers, creative-types and doers. All committed to making the prison re-integration/re-entry process more effective and efficient.

History

Established in 2013.

Mission: Launch, Inc., a 501©3 not-for-profit organization funded by foundations and generous donors, committed to creating pathways to learning, peer mentorship and entrepreneurship so that marginalized communities can safely navigate to the core of society. We are focused on giving voice to the «other» and building coalitions so that social and economic conflicts, created by the legacies of inequity, no longer threaten peace in our families and neighborhoods.

Meet the Business Owner

Teresa H.

Business Owner

In 2012 after completing a 70-month federal prison sentence for a white-collar case, Teresa Hodge co-founded Mission: Launch, Inc. with her daughter Laurin Hodge. Today she serves as the Director of Innovation & Strategy. While in prison, Teresa documented her journey, gathered information and worked on developing many of the models and concepts executed within the organization. Prior to incarceration she was a business developer focusing specializing in affinity marketing. Teresa held a realtor license for a number of years in Maryland.

Teresa is impassioned about reducing the harm prison can cause on women and men. She can be found serving as a peer mentor and offering her input about prison wherever needed.
