This was my first time having phở. Yes, I have been living under a rock, sue me! I had a great experience at Miss Saigon. Our waiter was attentive and gave us plenty of recommendations. I went with their traditional phở with beef. The beef was delicious, it was tender and very flavorful. I added some spice to my broth and it was great. Please be careful of the jalapeños, I accidentally bit into a very spicy one and literally guzzled cupfuls of water. We also enjoyed their veggie spring rolls, very tasty and a great starter. (I rate them with 3-stars only because this was my first experience and I don’t really have anything to compare their phở to, so as of right now it is an acceptable establishment.)

Eat here. The food is delicious, it’s light and filling which is hard to come by for quick Vietnamese food. The staff isn’t over bearing but they are still friendly. The second best part is the fish tank. Look for Fred, he is the one that swims vertical. It’s an entertaining tank!

We got their noodle soup. It was amazing. It was flavourful and good portion. The staff was great. We will definitely go back.

Very average food and the service was just like they have it back in Vietnam which means horrible! Waiters are also too darn lazy to split your group bills.

First time back in a while and it was very good. The Hue Soup had an almost sweet broth with seafood and rice noodles — enjoyed it very much, especially with the hot chili sauce. The wife had one of the specials: Steamed Chilean Sea Bass and it was excellent. A very large piece of bass over thin rice noodles with mushrooms and delicious sauce. Normally my wife would have leftovers with this large portion, but it was too good to take home and eat the next day. Gone! Service was very friendly and attentive, they refilled my ice tea about 5 times and brought me a glass of ice to add to the tea. Definitely pop in if you are walking by, all our meals there have been good.

A-OK for the food in the area. Service was decent and despite us putting in multiple orders as we were hungrier than we assumed, the staff was patient with us and did not get annoyed/frustrated that we stayed for so long. The fried rice was delicious as were the kabobs/skewers. My favorite was a spicy noodle dish they had on the dinner special list. Cute décor inside, will be sure to come back!

The food is decent. The prices are Georgetown. The staff is okay; they’re very laid back and don’t tend to check in very often. I really like the lemonade at this location, though there are no free refills on it(which they do not tell you). I’ve only ever had a couple of vermicelli bowls there, but I thought they were pretty good, and they came with the traditional dipping sauce. My favorite bowl is the crispy spring rolls with vermicelli, but the grilled pork combo is good(the pork is a little fatty for my taste). This place is rarely every busy, and it’s a huge space. They have a fish tank in the middle of the restaurant, as well as what appears to be a full bar. Sometimes you have to chase down your server just to get a refill on water or to get the check. If I’m hungry and in the area, this is a safe bet, but don’t expect to be blown away.

It took a trip across the country for me to write my first review in forever. We took my mother in law to DC for the cherry blossom season and her preference for eating is Asian. Why do people traveling to, live in, commute to the downtown/metro DC area not think that it’s completely weird and insane to have all Asian restaurants to a terrible eclectic amalgam of Chinese/Thai/Japanese/Vietnamese food? Miss Saigon is in the heart of Georgetown. Apparently, DC is where Asian food go to die a terrible death. We had the following: Caramel chicken hot pot(unfinished) Grilled meat combo vermicelli(unfinished) Lunch combo of rice and grilled meats(unfinished) 1 star folks. I’m interested in anyone who’ve dined here on why you’d give it more stars.

$$KEEPANEYEONTHEAMOUNT$$ I will never eat here again. The food is overpriced for being mediocre. THEBIGGESTTHING, they wrote in more tip after I left. ILLEGAL! FRAUD! I got an order of fried rice to go… Total was $ 12, I left a couple dollars in cash. A few days later I check my bank account and the amount total that went through was $ 16 something! They added about $ 4 dollars! I called the restaurant several times explaining what happened but no one ever got in touch with me! It’s not about the $ 4 ish dollars, it’s about the fact that what they did was illegal and fraudulent. I will be reporting this. If you eat here just watch the end amount.

This is the third visit to Georgetown and the second time we come here for Lunch. Our first time here we made a mistake not to come here. The service is great, the food is better and the price for lunch was reasonable with their lunch menu. We enjoyed the Caramel Salmon, Buddha’s Noodle Delight and the Shrimp with Ginger and Scallions and were able to share as the portions were large. No complaint on the service as they were very attentive to our needs and the food was brought to us very fast. They also have a Colonial parking garage next to them for easy access.

Yummmmmmmmmmmmmmm. My husband’s office used to get take-out here on the regular, but I didn’t realize it was the same place when I stumbled upon it with a friend and decided to take a chance based on the menu posted outside.(I didn’t even check the Unilocal reviews, eep!) Spring roll appetizers were gross in my opinion… whatever filling and spice combo it had was not appetizing(get it?!) and the sauce was a little too flavorless. Our server was also rude and made us feel unwelcome and awkward. That’s where the star deduction comes from. Also, the photo of the restaurant on their website is not the actual restaurant but a stock photo. The restaurant was clean and pretty and the 2-top tables were larger than a lot of those you’d find in DC. We got extra plates(much to our server’s chagrin, apparently) so we could order and split two entrees. We went with the Saigon Seashore dish, which was served in this super cool and large crispy potato bowl, and the Ginger Caramelized Chicken in a clay pot(which looked more like aluminum/stainless steel to me) and both were very, very good. The portions were also surprisingly enormous. I was so full I couldn’t envision taking the rest of it in a to-go box, but now I’ve got regrets over that decision. You can easily make two meals out of one of these entrees. The menu is also quite large, so I’m sure there’s lots more good stuff where that came from. I’m looking forward to eating here again.

Decent food, but crazy prices! Apparently I only saw they had one type of phở here, and I’m used to Vietnamese restaurants having a variety of phở options. Bummer. Bad place to get the phở too, since it’s $ 16. They call this an authentic Vietnamese restaurant, but the menu reminds me mostly of what I see at Thai restaurants. Interesting. Completely overpriced, but beautiful interior. I came here alone as I was visiting various parts of DC, and their service was terrible. It took a while for them to seat me, and it took them a while to get me a water. A table of 2 sat down right away when they came in after me, and the staff took their orders before me. WhAat??? I had to make an unpleasant sigh, and they finally took my order. Instead of ordering their $ 15 pad Thai $ 13+ curries and whatnot, I got their $ 6 garden rolls(comes with 2, which is still very pricey) and their small tom yum. The garden rolls were good, but I ate them so fast because they were small for the price. They had shrimp inside, but most of it was filled with the vermicelli noodles. What a ripoff. I expected their tom yum to be spicy(it had chili pictures on the menu) and sour(cause of lemongrass), but it was overly sweet! Whaaa??? So so sweet. It was good, but super sweet. I liked how it comes with a variety of veggies and a few shrimps, but it was $ 7 for a small bowl. Overall, their food is just okay, and service is a hit or miss. The prices do not justify the quality of the food, which is a huge bummer. Everything was close to double the price for that type of food in LA. Sooo yeah, come here if you’re looking for some nice interior with a fish tank and if price isn’t an issue. I wish I read the Unilocal reviews before stepping foot inside this place.

Came here on a rainy day because my friend and I crave for something warm. Observations: — cute fish tank — this is rather southeast Asian cuisine rather than just Vietnamese — waiting staff is friendly We ordered: — phở(there is only one kind on the menu) — grilled beef with vermicelli There is nothing below $ 12 on the menu, even for a bowl of phở. Our dishes were decent, so the good thing is we didn’t not overpay for horrible food. Probably not gonna come back. If you’re horribly hungry and have to have some Asian food, be prepared to pay a little more here.

Don’t let the unassuming store front trick you: this is good Vietnamese. We had the vermicelli and the phở. Both were pretty darn good and affordable. The vermicelli had plenty of meat, the noodles tasted fresh(or near-fresh), and I generally felt like the entire meal was reasonably authentic. I wouldn’t say either dish was particularly better than other Vietnamese places in the area, but I still enjoyed it. There are plenty of good Vietnamese places in the area — but this is certainly one of them.

I was very surprised to find such good Vietnamese food in Georgetown! I’ll agree with many of the other Unilocal reviews that Miss Saigon is a tad pricey for Vietnamese food, but being in Georgetown probably attributes to the higher prices. Inside the restaurant is tastefully decorated with some vietnamese hats on the walls along with a modest sized fish tank in the middle of the restaurant. Look for the floating psychedelic jelly fish! My two dishes the wonton soup and quail were delicious! The wonton soup had some chopped onions and veggies tossed in to give it extra flavor. The quail was well cooked; skin was crispy, the meat inside still moist. In addition, the manager is very attentive and will ensure that you have a great dining experience. I will defiantly be returning to Miss Saigon. Bottom line: Great Vietnamese food at a slightly higher price.

Miss Saigon is close to a 5, but not quite. First of all, it’s a little pricey for Vietnamese, but put that out of your mind, because the food is worth it. It’s just weird paying that much for Vietnamese food. We picked up, so I cannot say much for the atmosphere or service. I will say they charged me a couple bucks for a pick-up fee. I think that’s a silly fee, but $ 3 isn’t going to stop me from eating anywhere. So on to the food: –Saigon dumplings: I’m a sucker for dumplings. So tasty. These were a 5⁄5 in my opinion. Great flavor, great consistency. Nailed it — Phở: my girlfriend’s order which I helped myself to. Excellent. I love a good phở. Miss Saigon makes a pretty tasty soup. The broth had a nice flavor. The contents were a bit higher grade than your standard phở. — Golden Crêpe: a fellow Unilocaler recommended this. This was my order and this is where the meal hit a 4⁄5. The crêpe was a bit bland for Vietnamese fare. Of course there are many sauces that compliment the dish so it can be sauced up. But stand-alone, the Golden Crêpe needed more flavor. I am surprised such good Vietnamese could be in Georgetown, but it is. We will repeat Miss Saigon, so maybe an updated review will be in order after another entrée. And yes, you overpay a little at Miss Saigon, but like I said, good Vietnamese is worth it. GF Quote: «This is phở-king good.»

Somewhat recently, I had the opportunity to take a business trip(TDY) to Washington D.C. I was only there for 2 days, but decided to do as absolutely much as possible as soon as the«work» day was complete. While exploring Georgetown on day one, I needed a quick bite to eat and didn’t want to spend more than 15 minutes doing so. There were no fast food restaurants near my location so I decided to give Miss Saigon a try. I walked in to a crowded restaurant, but was seated immediately. As soon as my server came to greet me, I told her that all I wanted was an order of shrimp spring rolls and an iced tea. My rolls came out in less than 5 minutes and they were very good. The rice paper was fresh, the shrimp were large and cooked well(not rubbery) and the peanut dipping sauce was so good that I was tempted to lick the bowl. My check came soon thereafter and my entire visit was less than 15 minutes. I would have loved to enjoy a good bowl of phở, but I was in a hurry to explore, and exploration was more important than a «dining experience». People all around me were eating phở and it smelled delicious. So much so that I was tempted to get a bowl; but I didn’t. The place was packed, so I am guessing this restaurant has a good reputation. I can’t really say too much about this place as my stay was short and I only ate spring rolls. But in the words of a Unilocal 3 star review, it was«A-Okay».
