I feel a little better having seen the other reviews as it validates my own experience a bit (misery loves company, right?).
I got a Groupon for $ 59 for a 2-​hour apartment cleaning. I set up the cleaning well in advance, and was very happy with the customer service I received during the set-​up. The day of the cleaning I was also moving, and was running a few minutes late. I was told that the cleaner would arrive between 3 and 3:30. I got back to the property at 3:10 and no one was there, nor had anyone called, so I breathed a sigh of relief for not holding up the cleaner and went inside to wait.
By 4:00 PM no one had showed up so I e-​mailed my contact, Andrea. She e-​mailed me back with my cleaner’s name and cell phone and told me to contact him directly. I did and left a message but never got a call back. By 5:00 after no one showed up and no one called back, I e-​mailed Andrea again and told her we would need to reschedule.
She told me that he had come by and couldn’t get in, so left, but agreed to reschedule after making it clear that she was doing me a favor. Now, while I take full responsibility for being a few minutes late, the cleaner ABSOLUTELY should have called my cell when he had a problem getting in. I had to give them my cell phone number in order to book the cleaning, so there is no reason why he shouldn’t have called. Had he called, I would have given him the lockbox combination to let himself in, and would have been there a few minutes after. Andrea gave no response to my question about why he didn’t call, but since it was being rescheduled, I let it go.
Now typically they ask that you are present for your first cleaning, but because of the reschedule, I was out of the country for the holidays and couldn’t be there. The day it was suppose to happen, I got another e-​mail asking if it could be rescheduled again. I said it was fine, so long as it was done by the end of the week for my walk-​through inspection. Great. Good to go. The day of the cleaning came and went and so I e-​mailed Andrea to see how it went (I had asked that she follow-​up with me after the cleaning to let me know it was done and she hadn’t). Her response was «Yes, as far as I know everything went well.» I was a little miffed by the response — given the confusion on the first appointment, I would have expected her to have been a little more thorough in her followup, but again, decided to let it go since the cleaning had happened.
Then I got back and saw the «quality» of the cleaning… and my head just about exploded. The floor was dirty, there were food particles under the cabinets, dust and crumbs on the counter, soap and shampoo scum still in the tub, and the baseboards and windowsills hadn’t been touched at all. Now I had fully expected to have to do some touch-​up since it was only a 2-​hour cleaning, but my apartment is a small studio that was completely empty of all furniture. So 2 hours should have gone a long way — certainly far enough to have the floors swept and counters cleaned.
I took pictures and sent them in an e-​mail to Andrea clearly outlining my problems with the cleaning and with the overall experience, and requesting a full refund of my Groupon. I wasn’t rude, but I wasn’t sugar-​coating it either, and my dissatisfaction with the cleaning was made clear.
The cherry on top was the response I received from Andrea. To her credit, she started out the e-​mail saying she was sorry I wasn’t happy with the cleaning and would talk to the cleaner. But she then proceeds to put the blame on me for a) being late the first time and being the cause of the reschedule (I maintain, to this day, I should have been called before the cleaner left, which supposedly was after 15 minutes, though then we clearly should have overlapped), and then not being present for the rescheduled cleaning — even though I told her that up front. She then went on to say that Metro Staffing had already had to pay for the cleaning twice (once for the intial appointment and once for the reschedule) but that she would approve the refund, as long as I keep in mind what a big favor she/​Metro Staffing were doing for me. She also pointed out that I should be appreciative of the fact that she had taken the time to respond to my e-​mail over her holiday break, instead of passing me off to an associate. Frankly, if the associate was more proactive, I would have much preferred that. Basically, it was just the wrong approach entirely.
All that said — I did get the refund and Groupon was very nice about it, but I will never use Metro Staffing again. Based on their website, I don’t get the impression that cleaning is Metro Staffing’s primary service — rather, I think their bread and butter is more traditional office staffing. So they may be great at that, but if you’re looking to get your place cleaned, I’d stick to an actual cleaning company, like Maid Brigade, Molly Maid, etc.

STAY AWAY!!! I also bought a Groupon for 3 cleaning sessions. Stayed home from work for the first session, no one showed up, no one called, and no one answered the phone at their office. The next day I got someone, and they sent someone out, who took 2 hours on 3 bedrooms & 2 bathrooms (and they weren’t that dirty, they weren’t changing sheets, etc.). I called to schedule 2 people (to use up the groupon so I don’t have to do this again), they were to send me an email confirmation, and I have no idea if anyone will show up tomorrow. No one in the office. Bad scheduling, bad customer service, and slow cleaning = a hassle and wasted $$.

I admit that I was VERY concerned after reading reviews, but was pleasantly surprised. I purchased a groupon as well and had Brittany clean our place. I spoke with Andrea after they had a change in personnel, and she coordinated the cleaning. I recommend speaking with her to coordinate your request and would recommend using Brittany for cleaning. It’s my understanding that they only have 3 permanent cleaners, and most are hired by companies after they clean their properties. I plan to have Brittany clean again as she addressed the areas needing attention, showed up on time, and was easy to work with. I’m sorry to hear that others didn’t have as good of an experience as I did, but definitely recommend requesting Brittany.

I hired this company through Groupon and am sorry I did.
My first experience was marginal since the manager went out of his way to accommodate my request, but then the person who arrived to do the cleaning was completely untrained. It was the absolute worst — I had to go back and clean again myself.
The second time, I scheduled an appointment in advance in order to request a train cleaner. I called the day before to see if they could add a person so that I could use up my Groupon. I left a message with a woman there. I never heard back. I called again, nothing. This morning they were supposed to send at least one person to my house to clean. I called and left messages, but got no response. Finally, the scheduling manager called me back to say that they had cancelled my appointment. I explained that I did not cancel, I wanted to add a cleaner. I was livid. My father had been waiting at my house all morning to let the cleaner in, and to give the manager the groupon. I explained that I was very unhappy. The manager said that there was nothing they could do because they don’t schedule appointments less than 24 hours in advance.
So, it is basically now my problem. I am extremely unsatisfied (and have been inconvenienced by) with this company. The merchant is aware that I am requesting a refund from Groupon.
