Excellent doc! Great bedside manner, doesn’t talk to patients in a condescending manner as if they are totally oblivious. She also took her time with me and explained everything, instead of trying to rush me out of the exam room. GREAT doctor, just had to get appointments with.

Dr. Melancon is a class act. Very professional but not stuffy. She speaks to you like a human and is tremendously kind. I highly recommend her. She has been my gynecologist since I moved to DC several years ago. She even delivered my son who had some complications. Every time I see her she asks about my son and even goes out to the waiting room to see him if his dad brings him with us. She is such a lovely person and a wonderful doctor!

I have been going to Dr. Melancon since my first GYN exam as a teenager, and I can say nothing but good things about her. No one likes going to a GYN appt, but I can honestly say I didn’t mind going. Great bedside manner, extremely gentle and caring. She will answer all your questions without making you feel silly, and will make you feel like you’re her ownly patient despite the always busy waiting room. I live in Northern Virginia and will make the trek up 66 just to see her when I can. Her practice has a lot of doctors, but I will only go to her. Now for the negatives her office staff was HORRIBLE, some of the rudest people I’ve ever met. However the last time I went there looked like there was a complete overhaul as everyone behind the counter was new. They weren’t overly friendly but they were MUCH better than the previous employees. The other negative is the clientele. Since the closing of DC General, I’ve noticed a big difference in the people in the waiting room. Several times I’ve had to listen to ignorance, which drives me crazy. One woman cussed out the office staff because she was 45 minutes late to an appointment and they wouldn’t take her(which may explain the attitude from the previous employees).. Hasn’t been too much of a problem, but having lived in NOVA for the past 3 years it is always a big of a culture shock. Not something she could really help, but I have my fingers crossed that she’ll eventually open another office in the suburbs
