What an incredible experience! I heard of Manuel through word of mouth a couple of weeks back, and he was so highly recommended I had to make an appointment asap… Now I see why! The man is so talented– he brought my hair back to life! He is super sweet and knows what he is talking about. His assistants are also very nice and thorough. Manuel doesn’t rush through the appointment– he takes his time to make sure everything is perfect.
The salon is tucked away between/​behind Los Cuates and Dolcezza– cozy and peaceful ambiance.

I’ve been going to Manuel for a few years now. I have long hair and only get it cut 2 – 3 time per year so his prices (although comparable to other Georgetown salons) don’t phase me since I don’t have to go often. The thing I love about going to Manuel’s salon is that it’s an «experience.» He usually has cool music playing, has the best magazines to read while waiting and I like his products. Plus he does a great layered cut for my long hair and his cuts grow out so much better than ones done by past stylists. I try to book a morning appointment because by the afternoon he’s a bit backed up with appointments and then you have to wait.

I just had a nano-​keratin treatment done at Manuel Salon, and the results are INCREDIBLE. I have very frizzy, naturally curly hair. I’ve tried everything — relaxers, conditioners, a variety of hair treatments. The keratin treatment at Manuel’s has truly transformed my hair. Now it’s soft, frizz-​free, and manageable. This is not a typical salon. Located in a Georgetown house, it’s a very relaxed and comfortable environment. Manuel’s assistants, Guilma and Anna, are friendly and fabulous as well. I really appreciate the discounted treatments on Tuesdays and that Manuel includes a follow-​up a few days after the treatment to apply a little extra keratin. I will definitely be returning for future treatments as well as color.

Manuel is a hair god. I wash my hair. I don’t comb it. I don’t brush it. I don’t dry it. I only need to come about every 3 months. Before my friend introduced me many year ago, no one ever cut my hair so that it looked good. He is amazing and kind. It doesn’t matter how much it costs — he is worth every cent.

I received one of Manuel’s keratin treatments in the beginning of October. I wanted to wait before leaving a review to see if the results really last. They do! I’m in grad school and it’s amazing just waking up in the morning, showering, and not having to worry about my hair. I will be returning when my hair grows out longer to get another treatment.

I had high hopes for this salon but unfortunately I came away with a very difficult haircut with short choppy layers. Manuel is known for his nanokeratin treatments but as I did not need that I cannot comment towards them. I attribute my weird cut to the fact that he answered 3 phone calls on his ear piece while cutting my hair and stopped to make an appointment for one of them. I struggle every morning with styling my hair and am very unhappy. I left a message and an email with no response. At this point all I can do is grow it out and fight with it every morning. This is not one of my usual witty reviews as my hair annoys me so much. ** I had to reduce my rating bc my hair has become harder everyday to manage. The edges are so blunt they stick out. I found myself crying this am bc I couldn’t manage them.

Manuel has been cutting my hair for approximately 15 years and he always makes me looking fresh again. In addition, his Manuel hair products are the best!!! They are like gold in my house!!!

I got the nanokeratin treatment done last week and LOVE my hair! It used to be curly and frizzy and if I wanted to straighten it would take 45 minutes, or else I would have to keep it wet to let it air dry to be curly. Now my hair is stick straight but still voluminus, it keeps style well, and is SO healthy! My hair is so shiny and great. Manuel and his staff, Jesse (sp?) were SO nice and the salon is so cute and quiet in its corner of Jones Court. Go on Tuesdays, everything is 50% off. Manuel’s spirit is infectious, and I can’t wait to go back! The nanokeratin is like the brazilian keratin treatment but better and Manuel expects my hair to stay healthy and straight for up to six months!

OMG! Manuel should be classified as a national treasure for those of us who battle frizz. I have finally tamed my «big hair» with a keratin smoothing treatment that left my hair silky and is actually good for my hair.
