They ripped off the clasp on my suit, and didn’t even tell me about it. Now it’s too big. I’m really getting sick of poor service in DC. If anyone knows of place that does dry cleaning and alterations and won’t ruin my clothes, please let me know.

Quick service and actually cheaper than I’ve experienced in Chicago and Los Angeles. Got grease stains out of a blazer overnight. Polite people and not too chatty, just what you want in a cleaners. This is a place with a stand-up space(no waiting), nothing else but the front counters. This is not a combination place with dryers and washers. There are no frills, e.g. a coffee bar, a pony petting pen or a cognac fountain. BUT they seem to know what they are doing. No experience with lost tickets. I was visiting out of town but the coat was done right and on time. Keep it up!

Just moved to neighborhood and tried this place out based on the reviews. I dropped off my suit on Wednesday morning and it was ready by Thursday evening, which is better than my last place that had to do the cleaning offsite. The lady behind the counter was also very nice when I dropped off and picked up my suit. They even got rid of these weird wrinkles on my cuffs that my old dry cleaner left that I did not point out(and I thought they were permanent!). All for about $ 11 so not too bad.

they got stains out that my other dry cleaners told me could get out. I walk past easily 12 dry cleaners to go to this one; it is totally out of my way but I worth it.

Reasonable pricing and service is good. they get out stains really well, and everything is always ready at the same time regardless of stains or otherwise. I had 6 or 7 pieces dry-cleaned and it came out to $ 45 so i was very pleased.

Here’s the deal. Most dry cleaners in DC suck – they can’t get stains out, pieces go missing(self belts on dresses, buttons, etc), the cost is prohibitive, etc., etc. I really know what I’m talking about because I’ve tried them all, and continually return to Lustre for my special pieces and alterations. They’ve also done an excellent job saving and repairing moth-eaten cashmere sweaters and wool dresses. For all the rest I go to Zip’s, simply because otherwise I’d go bankrupt with all the dry cleaning I do!

I’ve used Lustre almost exclusively for about a year. I can’t complain. They haven’t ruined anything, have always had my stuff ready on time, and did a fine job altering a shirt for me(though I usually use Kim’s Cleaners on 20th Street for my alterations). Staff is friendly and efficient, and the prices are reasonable.
