I’m tearing into this chicken on a pita right now as I write this review. The chicken is moist and the bread was is soft. Very tasty and very messy with the sauce on it. My only complaint is that I got a lot of lettuce and no tomatoes. But overall, I would buy from them again. Items range from $ 7-$ 9 on the menu. 3.5 Stars

Hot, Fresh, Fast, Friendly, and Delicious! By far The best food truck in DC. I have tried many other food truck’s none compare to this one. The chic peas are the best. The chicken is flavorful, and juicy. Everything is reasonably priced. Try it, you will NOT regret it!

I’ve been pretty sour on the foot truck trend. Too often what you get is some halfbaked gimmick or a bucket of rice, beans, and a few scraps of meat for $ 14. They also tend to congregate downtown instead of where I work(Southeast). So today I have to hit the bank to make a deposit in Southwest when I spot the bright green Liberty Chicken & Gyro truck peddling gyros for $ 7, which is what you’d pay for a supersize combo of carbonated corn syrup, fries, and cow rectums at McDicks. So I figure, what’s the worst that can happen? Cholera? It’s 11:15 and the counter is still closed so I asked when the dude’s open and he goes ahead and throws the serving window up and takes my order. Take THAT, jerks who don’t open for lunch before noon. They’ve got huge pictures of what the food looks like on the side of the truck, so that your blind Aunt Eloise can see what weird foreign food like a «kebab» looks like and your illiterate friends can just point and grunt their order. Inside, the place is cleaner than a hospital. These guys serve halal and they take their clean seriously. They’ve got chicken chappli kebabs and gyro platters and chickpeas and falafel and what looks like chicken tikka which you can get either in a pita or on a platter with rice and salad. I opt for the combo chicken/gyro. They grill the stuff up and ask if I want some of this bright red sauce on it. I say, what the hell, you can’t get to heaven if you don’t die, so go ape$h!t. SO glad I did; it’s a mildly spicy red pepper sauce that goes perfect with the creamy yogurty sauce and the cool lettuce and tomato. The gyro meat is in chunks like a kebab, not in the usual strips, so it cooks at the same rate as the chicken. Good, clean, reasonably priced food served by a nice couple. One of the better food truck experiences I’ve had in DC. Worth searching out. I just wish they had a twitter feed to follow.

Whoa, there was an explosion of food trucks at Metro Center and the lines were ridiculously long at most of them. I opted for Liberty because their line was not long and I was in the mood for a gyro. I asked the nice man in the truck for a gyro with no lettuce & extra cucumber sauce and boy did he deliver. The sauce, I asked for hot suce too, was DRIPPING from the gyro and was actually coming out of the wrapping. The meat was very tasty, but I was disappointed in that there were no tomatoes nor onions included, which I’ve gotten when I’ve ordered gyros from other establishments. They have huge pictures displayed on the side of the truck that consists of the menu. The other offerings also included chicken gyro, kabob over rice, chicken over rice, combination on pita, etc… They advertise Halal fresh food. All in all it was a HUGE gyro that satisfied me.
