Organization Overview:

Kollaboration DC is one of 14 cities that holds an annual Asian & Pacific Islander American Talent Competition and Showcase. Having had its roots in Los Angeles Kollaboration was founded by an amazing talented comedian and champion of Asian American Talent — Paul «PK» Kim.

What Is Kollaboration?

Kollaboration is an Asian and Pacific Islander (API) organization and Movement that was founded in 2000 by Executive Director Paul «PK» Kim. Under the guidance of Executive Producer Roy Choi, Kollaboration became officially incorporated as a 501©3 non-profit organization in January of 2006 and became an Asian and Pacific Islander organization (previously it focused only on the Korean American community).

History

Established in 2010.

In response to the movement began by the original Kollaboration in Los Angeles and continuing the national spread of the call to action, metropolitan DC Asian-American and Pacific Islander professionals and students came together in 2010 to raise the banner and call our local AAPI talent to come show our community the diverse talent and amazing abilities and gain their support in raising the prominence of AAPI performing arts. Kollaboration DC is now an annual event and a movement by a group of dedicated and multi-talented Asian-American and Pacific Islander professionals and students, who volunteer their time and skills to celebrate the vast talents of their community and bring them into the mainstream.
