About The Show

THINK is an evening of mind reading and magic held at the Hotel Helix in Washington, DC. In this 90 min show, magician Josh Norris will use a combination of magic, psychology, hypnosis and suggestion to demonstrate the untapped powers of the mind.

Norris will utilize his uncanny understanding of body language to decode the thoughts of audience members. He’ll assume the role of a human lie detector as he challenges volunteers to conceal their true intentions. He’ll subject himself to extreme physical harm in a feat of mind over body. Each week, in a final test of the power of suggestion, Norris will give one audience member the chance to win $ 1000 cash.

Business Owner

Josh Norris is a magician (and future politician) living in Washington, DC. His performances, which combine Magic, Mentalism, and Hypnosis, are featured at corporate events across the country. In addition to his studies as a magician, Norris relies heavily on his skills at reading body language, which he has honed over the course of 2000 live shows. His clients in 2011 included Deloitte, Lockheed Martin, Booz Allen, Hughes Networks, and a command performance at the residence of Redskins owner Dan Snyder.

In 2011 he was named «DC’s Best Performing Artist» by the Washington City Paper, recognizing him as one of premier entertainers in the DC metro area.

Norris recently hosted a travel show for MSN called Re: Discover, where he gave viewers a tour of some hidden gems of Washington and just completed filming a reality show with a national network that will air in late fall.

Glad I got a chance to see Josh’s show at The Helix. Kind of low-​brow but a different night out for sure. If you are looking for gasping disappearing ladies this isn’t it. If you are ok with card tricks and mind games then this won’t disappoint.
Josh’s V-​Neck (scoop) T-​Shirt was a disstraction. Didn’t those disappear in the ’90’s !!

My BF and I were looking for a fun and different date night activity. THINK was perfect because it allowed us to escape the reality of daily life and immerse ourselves in a night of fun and magic! My BF was even called up on stage to participate in one of the illusions!
Josh is not your ordinary «Gob Bluth», birthday party magician. His act is mature and his illusions are truly mesmerizing. But he still manages to keep it light with fun and humor. He is a true performer, engaging the audience and keeping everyone involved and interested in seeing what is coming next.
If you’re looking for something unique and exciting that will keep you on the edge of your seat, I suggest dinner at the Helix Hotel bar, a drink or two (you can take drinks into the show!), and a night of head-​scratching illusions with Josh!

I first came across Josh when he was briefly known as Max Major at a Unilocal Elite event. So when our amazing Unilocal Community Manager Kristin sent a link for discounted tickets to his show, I thought… why not?
Josh’s show is great — this isn’t just card tricks (although there are a couple), but more of an interactive blend of humor and magic (think Penn and Teller). It’s a great show and Josh is a great showman. One of the cooler things to do in DC…

One word: WOW.
I have seen many magic shows in my day, but nothing that compares with what I saw Josh do in THINK! From traditional slight of hand tricks to insane displays of mentalism, Josh kept me on the edge of my seat literally the entire performance. One of the best parts was the intimate nature of the show: with only room for 50 people, it really seemed like everyone was involved. I know a magic show might not seem like the ideal place to take a first date, but I took a chance and both my date and I had a great time. The show ended pretty early in the night so we had plenty of time to go out after and continue our great night. I definitely recommend going; you will not regret it.

Josh Norris is not a creep. Nor is he creepy. But he may just creep you out.
If that sounds like a bad thing, trust me it’s not. It’s actually an amazing thing. Creeper in the most outstanding way possible.
I’ve known Josh socially for some time now, so when I got a whiff of his magic, I really had my expectations fairly moderate. I invited him to be part of the entertainment at a number of Unilocal events and was so incredibly impressed with not only his professionalism, but also his skills. Nah, actually I spelled that wrong.
Because Josh Norris has SKILLZ. (The ‘z’ is needed for street cred.)
When I first saw Josh’s strolling magic, I was totally impressed. However the first time I caught one of Josh’s shows (at the time it was at The Source theatre) — my mind was blown. I mean, here’s this guy that I’ve known socially for years with this incredible amount of talent that I just did not anticipate.
Josh’s shows are no where near your typical horse and pony show type of performance. Josh’s ability to pull off illusion is phenomenal. He will not pull a quarter from his elbow. In fact, you better be careful because if he tries that one on you, he may just pull an exotic animal out and cause the whole city to panic!
Most recently I had the opportunity to check out his newest show (THINK show) at Hotel Helix. This show runs on Friday evenings and after being blown away by his show at The Source, I was quick to attend his newest.
Once again, Josh blew the audience away.
Although the space where the show takes place is rather small, it is actually extremely beneficial for the audience. You’re able to keep a close eye on everything (or THINK you are) and no matter what, he will still get you every time. Even when you think you’ve got him…
I really think Josh’s shows are one of those lesser known secrets in the city. His shows are always extremely reasonably priced, well run and just all kinds of fun.
Truly a fabulous alternative when enjoying a night out on the town.

How does he do it???
Despite not blinking once during both his Unilocaling in Wonderland performance and his impromptu one at the Pearls gala, I couldn’t keep up with his sleight of hand. Impressive tricks, great personality, and the ability to put up with obnoxious overenthusiastic Unilocalers=A++.

Josh is a very personable, talented and witty guy. I think he might actually have supernatural powers — some of the tricks he does blow my mind. We were joking that he deals in the dark arts.
I don’t want to give any of them away, but really, we were all very surprised and entertained. Josh made it a fun time for all… and he’s pretty easy on the eyes.
