Ioana Razi, MD

We recently relocated to Florida and I’m still calling Dr. Razi for guidance because there is just nobody like her. In fact, after seeing our first pediatrician in Boca Raton, I decided that I need to send Dr. Razi flowers to let her know that no one compares to her. I had two homebirths and Dr. Razi came to our house (very near the office) for the newborn visits. If you are lucky enough to get into her busy practice, you and your children will be in the best hands on the East Coast! Will most likely be flying back to her office for well visits.

If you want a doctor who sends in the nurse to do all of the vitals and have the preliminary discussion and then comes in and visits the patient for four minutes before moving onto the next patient, this is not the practice for you.
Dr. Razi spends an incredible amount of time with our baby on every visit. She could not be more gentle, more kind, or more knowledgeable. She has been an invaluable resource in our first few months of parenting.
There is no super high-​tech office here. There is no automated check in system. There is no online scheduling. There is one doctor and one assistant. With that simplicity comes some lack of efficiency, but it is a trade-​off we are ecstatic to make in exchange for a level of care that is hard to find in 2014.
She will only take patients at birth. So, if your child is with another pediatrician and you try to transfer in, she may not take you. Don’t be offended. It is just her policy. I don’t really know why, but she has a practice that is sufficiently full that she can make such rules.
If you are thinking about having a child or are pregnant, now is the time to get in with her!

I would not recommend Dr Razi to anyone. She is very unresponsive to her patients’ needs and the office is mismanaged. They treat each client like a number. Scheduling an appt is like trying to visit the Queen mother!

My children were patients at Washington Hospital Center for all of their lives but unfortunately we had to switch pediatricians. So, I began doing my research and after not being impressed with my search results, I came across Dr. Ioana Razi’s office. It got great reviews on Unilocal and a co-​worker recommended Dr. Ioana Razi’s services as well. I called the office on 1÷16÷14 at 930am and was greeted by a nice young lady. I asked her if they were accepting new patients and she said no. She then asked me who recommended me and that their offices do not take insurance. I told her the source of my recommendation and asked if she could recommend me to another doctor. She asked me if I had insurance and I told her that I in fact have Blue Cross Blue Shield, it was at this point that she started to cut me off in mid conversation. I noticed that her friendly demeanor became one of impatience and annoyance. She told me a doctor that I could possibly see in Alexandria but she did not provide a first name. I asked her for the first name and her answer was VERBATIM, «Dr. xxxxx in Alexandria ok bye» and then the dial tone. There was no punctuation in her quote because she quickly said it and hung up on me. My first instinct was to call back and ask her why she was so dismissive to me, but that conversation would have been fueled by my anger at her approach; I decided that was not a good idea. So, I opted to rely on the power of the pen, in this case… the keyboard. I’m sure that this review will not sway anyone’s decision about this doctor but there is a standard of customer service that this office should have upheld, not to mention common courtesy. I was not given that and I feel that this information should be shared among my fellow moms and dads. Thanks.

I feel truly blessed to have Dr. Razi as our pediatrician. She is a wonderful human being, so warm and caring, and an excellent professional, she knows how to talk to children. My children love her, they like going to her and they feel really safe around her, as soon as they feel a little sick, the first thing they say to me is: «Mommy, call Dr. Razi» they just turned 5.
She is also a homeopath, which I love (my family Doctor back home was a homeopath and I love the natural approach to health and the more holistic view of the patient that they have).
All in all, she is the best, really! as one of the other reviewers puts it, she is a national treasure! It took me 2 years to get into her practice and it was really worth the wait.

Dr. Razi has been my physician since I was born. I’m 31 now. She has consistently (for 31 years, truly) been light years better than any other doctor I’ve ever seen. She not only cares about, but understands the whole person, and the way that humans’ bodies, minds and moods interact. I only wish that there were more Ioana Razis in the world, and that everyone had access to someone like her.

Dr. Razi is an outstanding doctor, homeopath, and person. She has been our pediatrician from the time of her residency over 28 years ago, caring for our five children with skill, care, and love. She is a holistic doctor, and practices what she preaches, so her care, and counsel goes beyond symptoms and assessments to practical advice for prevention and treatments. Dr. Razi cares for our children as she would for her own, with tenderness, compassion, and individual attention.

I feel blessed to have Dr Razi in our life. She truly is gifted and so special. She addresses my baby with such love and respect and is very nurturing toward the whole family. I love that she has a homeopathic background that she blends perfectly with conservative medical knowledge. She offers many viewpoints that other Drs rarely consider. This is very important to my husband and myself who are very organic and naturalists. I really believe we lucked out and I know that she is the very best in her field of work.

Simply amazing doctor. I feel like my daughter is in the best possible hands. Have you ever seen someone who is doing EXACTLY what they are meant to do? How gifted and wonderful and happy they are? That is Dr. Razi. I look forward to our appointments. She’s not just knowledgable– she’s wise. And so gentle with my daughter.

Ioana Razi, MD, is a national treasure. She was my 3 children’s pediatrician, and now she cares for my grandchildren. May she live long. She has the presence of a mountain, incredibly grounded and clear about the value of all life. If you are a person who believes that you, not the medical-​industrial complex, are responsible for your own health, and are willing to learn and live a lifestyle that supports health and prevents disease, this is the pediatrician for your family.
