Tony and Yolanda are true professionals who care about their clients and offer superior products. Over the years, I have purchased two sets of prescription sunglasses. Not only have they offered great style advice on what looks good, but they always take care of their customers, offering complimentary adjustments for eye glasses, as needed. Personally, they came to my rescue years ago when I was traveling and needed to replace my sunglasses due to an accident— true life savers! Recently, I was in their storefront and learned that they had just helped an unfortunate tourist who forgot to pack their contact lenses. They outfitted this gentleman with contact lenses on the spot! I can only say wonderful things about Insight Opticians, and Tony and Yolanda! You will NOT be disappointed!

Last year after having my glasses stolen from my vehicle, I went on a mad search to find the same Anne et Valentin frame as they were a perfect fit for my face. I am one of those individuals that has difficulty finding frames that fit well. So you can imagine my disappointment. I even contacted the company in Europe. It is worth mentioning, the company’s customer service was fantastic as they looked all over France and the US to see if they could located a pair even though the particular frame had been discontinued. No luck, so the company suggested another style that were similar and just newly released. I called the few places in the area that carried the line in the hopes of at least trying them on. One very popular Optician (that will remain nameless but I will never patronize) told me I would have to pay for the shipping before they would even order them into the store. What a joke. I should not have to pay for shipping on glasses I have not seen, been fitted for or decided to purchase. The next store on my list was Insight. I spoke with Yolanda who informed me that the frames she was waiting their arrival and would call me first. As promised I received a call the day they arrived. I visited the store the very next day. They were a successful fit. Yolanda and Tony were friendly and helpful. My glasses were ready in less than a week. They made sure I had the proper documentation for insurance purposes and also helped me select the perfect pair of sunglasses from l.a. Eyeworks which were also ready in less than a week. Because I purchase two, I was offered a helpful discount. If you are looking for a place to shop with great customer service, both talented and compassionate… Insight Opticians is it. Both Yolanda and Tony will help you select frames from a wonderfully unique selection that best suits you. Lastly, the sunglasses I purchased are very funky and deserved a case just as stylish. At the time of purchase the case available was plain black. Tony suggested as soon as an appropriate case arrived he would make sure I received it and I did. Another promise kept. What more can you ask for!

I saw the great reviews on Unilocal for Insight Opticians and decided to check this place out. I have been looking for new glasses because the ones I have currently don’t fit my face well. The second I walked into the door I could tell this was going to be a great experience. I was greeted with smiles from both Tony and Yolanda (the staff) and I could immediately see how well their glasses complemented their faces. I knew that I had found the right place.
I have a very narrow face so my options are very limited (sizes 41 – 44) and there were a few selections to choose from. Since I wanted more options than the available selection, Yolanda had me go onto the website for LA eyeworks and see which style I liked and told me to only choose sizes 41 – 44. I returned to the store with pictures of my selections. Yolanda found me a pair that was the same style but a different color and I loved everything about the style except for the color. She was able to order a blue pair for me (Howser of LA eyeworks). I am excited to have a well-​fitting pair of glasses and I could tell how well they fit my face. Yolanda and Tony were very helpful.
Although the glasses here are pricey, they are very generous. I asked them about any possible student discounts and because I asked in a friendly way, I was given a 10% discount on my total. In addition, there is a second pair of glasses that I am interested in that is brand new and the first shipment is only coming in a few weeks. I asked if I could get a discount by buying 2 pairs (the one I bought already and the brand new style) and Tony told me that he would help me out when the new shipment arrives. I will update this review as my glasses arrive and after I check out the new style. If you are looking for a great place to get your glasses, this is it! This is pricey, but I felt it was definitely worth it.

Needed glasses for the first time in my 33 years on the planet. Went to two other stores, and this was the place. Tony was super-​helpful, and he and Yolanda (who wasn’t there on my return trips, though also very helpful) found me some frames that look good on me and are a little more, uh, forward than the standard eyewear around DC. Exactly what I was looking for. They had to nudge me a bit, but I ended up with glasses that I’m truly happy to wear every day.

My husband and I found Insite through Unilocal,and we have been extremely happy with them. Tony is fabulous and has a good eye for finding the right frames to fit your face. They have a great selection of unique frames, and I get a lot of compliments on my glasses.

I am a value buyer… which often translates into me being somewhat cheap… after visiting a ridiculously priced store on P street where the salespeople were rude, I found Tony at Insight. The first sign that Tony was the man to go to for glasses is the fact that he owns more than 20 pair of glasses and regularly rotates about 10 pair. I’ve been back twice for minor refitting where I bent the metal frames (which by the way have super cool German engineering) and it’s been a perfect experience each time… Tony just replaced the Mykita case I lost.

They provided great personal attention when I visited, but the only down side was their pricing for the glasses. I shopped around online and found the same glasses for ¹⁄₃ less, saving me hundreds of dollars.

I stopped by Insight during my lunch hour because I had a minor problem with a set of eyeglasses. They took care of the problem right away, and didn’t charge me, even though I didn’t buy the glasses there. They also tightened the glasses for a better fit. I was very touched by their kindness.

As an eyeglasses consumer for over 20 years, I’ve been to a LOT of different opticians, and have to say that this group, by FAR, was the best experience I’ve ever had. Not only did Yolanda and Tony help me find the PERFECT pair of glasses, Dr. Langan helped me resolve a long time eye allergy issue– I am SO grateful.
They really have a great selection of unusual and FABULOUS looking frames, and Yolanda is a whiz at recommending just the perfect pair. They also worked with me to figure out which contacts would work given my chemical sensitivities– and that’s hard to do! They were super patient.
Their kindness, professional and personalized service, coupled with an incredibly convenient location (exit the Metro Center station and look down the block on F street– you’ll see them on the left– less than a block away) — makes them a GREAT find! Thank you!

When I needed new prescription glasses my friend recommended I check out InSight. I was lucky to get a walk-​in appointment with Dr. Langan and ended up getting an amazing pair of frames. They were pricey, but it’s worth it because you get unique frames you can’t find anywhere else. I’m still getting compliments on my new frames!

Stopped by an optical store and found a pair of frames I knew I wanted.
However, while there are plenty of distributors of Cutler and Gross in Athens – and other parts of Greece – the dollar is still weak here, so I decided to look for a distributor in the States where I am based and came across Insight in DC.
But since I can’t physically go into the shop now and see their collection, I attempted to call and see if they have the model I want. But no one answered the phone. So a bit difficult from my end to proceed.
And although the fine reviews of the shop here are encouraging, doesn’t help when you’re across the Atlantic, trying to get info on a difficult-​to-​find frame.
Don’t want to wait until I return to the States in August to find out they don’t carry the frame I want. And so, I just might be forced to see the dollar take a hit from the Euro and buy the frames here.
But as I am not a wealthy woman, I would have preferred to shop around a bit in my neighborhood – compare prices, if you know what I mean.
So whoever happens to stop by the shop between now and August might suggest to Tony and Yolanda that they pick up the phone when it rings.
Not that I would want them to ignore a customer who may be in the store while the telephone is ringing…
Still. It would have been nice to get an answer.

Yolanda and Tony are awesome. I was in town for a business meeting and looking for a new pair of glasses. I read the other two reviews on Unilocal and decided to try them out.
I told them the frame type I already had and said I was open to sugestions for a new pair. Yolanda pulled quite a few to try. They were all great options. Tony then pulled a final frame, and it was perfect.
They were a lot of fun and even said they would ship to me, even though I am returning to the District in a few weeks for another meeting. I highly recommend stopping in of you are looking for new glasses. Lots of options and lots of fun.

I had a completely difference experience from the first reviewer. One of the first questions I asked was could they take a digital pic of me so I could see how I looked in the frames I’d chosen and they told me they didn’t have one.
The store wasn’t busy but neither associate offered to help with my frame selection initially. I had to ask for help. The service I got on all my visits wasn’t «individual,» even though they had either one customer or no other customer in the store.
Their frames are as pricey as Blink’s but I will go back to Blink, or to Virginia Burton in Georgetown (again), when I need my next pair of glasses. Actually, now that I have thought about Virginia Burton, let me recommend her unreservedly. She has a wonderful eye and devotes all her time to your selection process.

Yolanda (the owner) and Tony are first-​rate! Beautiful frames, a wide range of prices – you’re sure to find something you’ll like.

i have been a long time fan of Blink, afterall, they sold me my last pair of glasses (ic! berlin) which i love and which have been impossible to replace. what i love about Blink is that you go there and they look at you and hand you a pair and you love the pair of glasses.
since i was looking for something to replaced my ic! glasses now (after four years) and i had hear about some other german glasses brand mykita, i gave insight a try (Blink doesn’t sell mykita). and Tony who was helping me was great. He was a lot of fun, even took a picture of me with the one pair I really liked so that I could get some additional feedback. And like Blink the help and support was excellent. They didn’t wait for you to find the pair you like, but aren’t afraid to point you into a different direction than you had planned to go. if you are in the market for a pair of new glasses give Insight a try. they will put a smile on your face with their fun and great service, and in addition put a pair of new glasses on your nose.
