LOVE this place! Would live in the basement and play beerpong and drink Pabs for the rest of my life if I could. GOHERE!

Decent! And I was surprised by how busy this place is during lunchtime. I visited recently for lunch and ordered the Hamilton’s burger(classic burger, lettuce, tomato, and onion) with a side or tater tots. I enjoyed the burger, but liked the tater tots better. It reminded me of other DC bars with spectacular tater tots. This bar is right off the National Mall and I know several friends who’ve been on DC kickball teams and Hamilton’s was their go-to bar for flip cup and drinking after their kickball games. I was also on a DC kickball team once upon a time, but played in a different league with a different bar(not Hamilton’s). I can see it getting really crowded with rowdy 20 somethings(I’m a 20 something, but not rowdy haha) after games. But Hamilton’s is good even just for a meal — the burger and tots were solid! Service was a bit slow on the day I visited, since it was very popular(maybe everyone was having their office holiday lunch there? Haha jk), and it took a while for me to close my check out. But I finally did and don’t regret my visit. I will be back for lunch at some point probably.

We came to this place on accident because the sushi place next door was closed. The food was above average but it definitely hit the spot. The service was phenomenal, though. Daniel and Mike were fantastic! If you are looking for a no-fuss spot with great service, this place is for you!

If you’re looking for bar food well above average, Hamilton’s will not disappoint. Their salad greens are crisp and fresh and if you’re a Ranch person, I highly recommend partaking. The staff is flexible with menu tweaks, friendly and down to Earth. You won’t find that infamous D.C. uppity, better than thou attitude at Hamilton’s. Come as you are, bring whomever you want, and have a relaxing time in a hole-in-the-wall kinda’ place where the drinks are reasonably priced and made as you like. Note: I did not give a five star rating because staff members allow people to smoke on the patio. I find that frustrating, as not only does it prevent some of us from enjoying a meal outdoors, but it also allows cigarette smoke to drift indoors when the front door is left open.

We were looking for a sports pub as we were on Penn AV. Unilocal listed Hamilton Bar and Grill. What a great find for Sunday afternoon football and good Pub food. The place was perfect for Nachos, burgers, and sandwiches. The beer was good and cold as well. The place had a Green Bay flag out front, but that was ok. Our Patriots beat the Jets anyway.

Here for a meet up group and let me tell you, CHUCK is the best bartender in DCPERIOD. It was a free happy hour so obviously it was BUSYASHELL but he literally made us feel like we were paying 100 a shot. Everything from making sure my cup was never empty to making sure my cell phone had coasters under it when the bar got wet from a spilled drink. I have never been here before but he has officially made me a patron. The drinks were great(not stingy at all). The customer service is just insane so 5 stars of course. Thank you, see you soon! Ps. I’m here on a Friday night!

Had an early dinner here and ordered a beer, burger, and nachos. No complaints at all. Food was great, service was pretty good, and prices were decent. I’d recommend the place for sure.

As soon as I got my food I couldn’t wait to get on Unilocal and rant and WARN everyone about this place. After hiking for about 2hours and driving around the city my fiancé and I were STARVING and looking for a bar/restaurant. So I got on Google and Googled the closest and highest rated place we could find. This place pops up As soon as we walked in all I could focus on was how damn dark the place is. I seriously couldn’t see where I was stepping. The African American waiter literally yelled at us asking us what we wanted. «Do you have a menu?» My fiancé asked, confused and annoyed at the bartenders attitude. «Yeah.» He responded. «Can we sit outside?» I asked because I honestly needed some light in my life after being in that dump for about a second. As soon as we sat down he took our drinks, we ordered the cheese curds for appetizers, I was SO excited for the cheese curds and couldn’t wait to try them… I ordered the chicken caesar for my main dish, my fiancé ordered«The Bomb» sandwich with fries… First of all, our appetizer NEVER came out! When our main entrees did come out my salad was ROTTEN. No joke. It takes a lot for me to get angry but I was LIVID. I literally couldn’t handle how bad this place is. Horrible service, horrible food, horrible set up, just horrible. Avoid!!!

Food was good. Service was slow but friendly — Kinda like being back in the Midwest. Tater tots are a great compliment to any meal. Wouldn’t mind an old fashioned hot dish or casserole being served. Glad to see cheese curd on the menu and Leinie’s on draft! Go Badgers!

Had lunch here while spending the Day at the Capital building in DC. There was really not much else around so we walked in not rally knowing what to expect. It was a Wednesday afternoon and the plan was empty but not have many other options we decided try it out. To our surprise it was a good pick. The food came out right away. We had the chicken tenders for my daughter which was way more than she could eat but she made a good dent in them. My other daughter had the chicken Cesar salad which was very big and I had the caprese grilled cheese which was amazing. My husband went her safe chicken sandwich which was very fresh and grilled just right. The place is old and cosy and hits the spot on a quick pit stop.

Honestly all they care about is money, bartenders are great but the owner sucks he’s a douche, it should be $ 30 for 10 beers but he charged $ 50 for literally no reason

My kickball team comes here after games, so for that it is fun. Beer pong, flip cup, etc in bar that reminds me of frat houses in college. The interior is a bit worn down but thats probably what keeps the prices where they are. Drinks are reasonably priced, as is food($ 7 for a good size plate of nachos). My nachos were decent, just didn’t come with a lot of cheese. This is basically more of a dive bar than sports bar(in my opinion), so if you are with a group it is fine, but I wouldn’t go out of my way to come here.

Pretty disappointed in the nachos and the service… Not a single smile. Nachos came out right away but they were cold and mainly chips… Seriously less than one percent cheese. Update: spoke to the bartender and told him I was disappointed… No apology just said, «so what do you want some more toppings?» So I said yeah that would be nice… Didn’t take my plate just came with some plastic condiment holders including unmelted cheese… Guess I will be taking this home to microwave.

At first I thought Google maps was steering me wrong because i could not find this place due to the fact that it’s tucked behind some taller buildings. However, my boyfriend and I made it! This is a «seat yourself» place, with a choice of upstairs, downstairs or the bar. It was 4th of July and they were that crowded. As soon as we walked in, a couple was leave and so the staff was very quick in cleaning the table for us. We sat down and someone brought us menus and took our drink orders. We quickly reviewed the menu and was ready to order but no one came back. We sort of just sat there waiting for about 10 minutes until someone noticed us and he took our order. The food came out pretty quick however, we weren’t given utensils or napkins(luckily I had some in my bag). There was barely anyone to ask and whenever he walked by he sort of avoided eye contact or contact at all. He did not check on us after bringing out our food, not even once. The food itself was pretty good. We had wings tossed in old bay seasoning and the ‘santa fe’ wrap. I loved the wings, it was just the right balance of spice and flavors. It was a little too fried because some parts were hard to bite through but overall it was tasty and I wouldn’t mind a dozen or two :/The Santa FE wrap had grilled chicken, corn, black bean salsa, cheddar cheese and a spicy ranch sauce. It was juicy and tasted great. I must say that the bill came a Out a little higher than I would have thought, especially for a shared meal. Overall, very poor customer service, definitely need to step it up. The food was decent but because the customer service was almost nonexistent(even though they weren’t that crowded) the quality of this place went down. I may go back to give the bar or the dining a second chance but they need to step it up.

When boyfriend and I walked into this bar there was only one other table with customers. We decided to sit at the bar and I don’t think I’ve ever met a more poopy faced bartender. Seriously, your tips are based on your attitude. He was not friendly, not accommodating to a special food order(because he was SO overwhelmed with business from one other customer), and overall I was ready to leave his counter by the time my gin was gone. Saving grace was the gin and tonic and the chicken fingers were delightful. Otherwise, I strongly recommend going somewhere that actually wants your business enough to smile when you walk through the door.

Delicious food and average service. I went here with my uncle, whom is also a foodie, and my boyfriend over the summer for a very nice lunch. While the establishment is down a sort of creepy side street, my uncle works right next door to it so it was the perfect location for us. My uncle brought us here because both him and I have a love for spicy chicken wings and this is one of his go to places for them. The establishment, once again, is a little bit out of the way and seems a bit of a hole in the wall from the outside but inside it’s not bad at all. It was a little dark inside but there was plenty of seating and it wasn’t very busy for lunch time in DC. This may be a weird thing to mention, but one thing that threw me off a little was the taste of the water. I’m from central New York where I drink the tap water all the time. When here I ordered a glass of water but it tasted almost like dirt. My uncle said it was due to the minerals in the water. Weird. Anyway, we began by ordering the fried cheese curds. Delicious. We were fighting over who got the last one. This is their twist on mozzarella sticks. I like getting cheese curds from the farmer’s market on occasion and I found the idea of fried ones intriguing. They are bite sized battered fried cheese and were very tasty. They weren’t too oily and were still nice and melty when brought to us. I would definitely order these from here again. I ended up ordering six of the fire wings while my uncle ordered twelve of them. He’s a brave soldier. While they were very spicy to the point I was crying on the fourth one, they also had great flavor and that is what matters to me with wings. I love really spicy things but if it has no flavor it is not worth the pain. The blue cheese was definitely helpful in cooling off my mouth though. My boyfriend ordered the Hamilton burger with tater tots. First off, everyone is right about the tater tots. They are amazing. Hot, crispy and so bad for you yet so good. I kept stealing them off his plate. The burger was delicious, he let me take a bite of it. Juicy and flavorful with a nice toasted bun. Next time I come here I would order the exact same things plus my own burger. Overall, the food hit the spot. If you want good wings, a good burger or good fried cheese, I would definitely come back here. The cost was a little pricey($ 11 for a simple burger and $ 6 for six wings) but what do you expect in the city of DC? It was definitely a pleasant visit.

I came here a Thursday at lunch time and it was crowded. I guess that’s what happens when it’s a sports bar and world championship in football. However, I was starving after several hours of walking around Washington DC and ordered rather quickly. I got my drink after 5 minutes but my burger took like 40 minutes to come out. It was really delicious, but the waiting time? Well, the burger almost made up for that since it was exactly as I wanted it to be, close to raw. Service was polite, but a bit stressed and inattentive. The environment is like a typical sports bar with televisions and loud noises. I sat at the bar section at the second floor and it was actually quite hidden from the rest of the seating area and that was nice. Would I come back? Sure, if I’m ever in the neighborhood again and desperate for a juicy burger.

Late lunch. Wanted something new and different. My office is connected to The Hamilton Bar and I just started working here 2 weeks ago. The bartender who took my order was pleasant. He asked if I wanted to add fries with my sandwich but he also warned me that my sandwich would be plenty. The open-face bbq beef brisket came with mac & cheese, beef brisket, onion strings and cole slaw STACKED on top of texas toast($ 11 including tax). I’m glad that I didnt add fries. I wasnt able to finish all of my food. Next time: I’ll ask for my food NOT to be STACKED. My toast was soggy I and didnt have enough BBQ sauce for my beef.
