H&R Block

I just learned that, because of an error made by an accountant at THIS office, I owe $ 7,400 PLUS interest. And that’s only AFTER a significant underpayment penalty got waived. The Peace of Mind Guarantee? It might — MIGHT — cover $ 5,500 of this, but only if it gets approved.
This comes after a host of other problems: emails ignored or answered weeks after the fact; sloppiness and misspellings on tax forms; $ 20,000 in income I didn’t receive ADDED to my Schedule C.
Their incompetence has been appalling and financially ruinous for me. I now have to explain to my kids why we will not be going on vacation this summer. Do not — repeat, DO NOT — patronize this office. They are two blocks from my house, and I would sooner drive 200 miles than work again with this accountant or anyone associated with this firm.

This is my first ever Unilocal review but I had to share about how great an experience I had with Tiffany Falden. She was extremely knowledgable, helpful and patient. Given a confusing moving situation, I was very anxious about my taxes this year. It was obvious that Tiffany knew what she was doing and working with her put my mind totally at ease. She got me in and out of the office within an hour. It was a total pleasure! I’ll be coming back to her every year.

I cannot say enough good things about Tiffany Fallon, who has worked on our taxes for several years. Our returns are complicated, requiring someone with an elevated understanding of tax laws in the District of Columbia and who knows how to handle income from investment properties. She is efficient, smart and organized, and while our returns are completed in 10 minutes or even an hour, we are extremely confident in her work. She has saved me money, saved me time and given me some piece of mind that I have accurate returns with all of the proper documentation.
If she can handle our returns, she can handle anything.

I had to update my review, I went to Tiffany Falden at the Capitol Hill H&R Block location and she did an amazing job. She is thorough and willing to give great advice. She fully explains each step of the tax process and always tries to give you the best option for filing. I truly appreciate all her help and feel like my partner and I receive the highest customer service. Also her boss was very informative and willing to answer any questions. I will definitely be back!

They lost my W-​2 forms. Which is a huge disappointment. And a huge headache. In the end they helped me file taxes. Gave me a small discount. But they lost my original w-​2 forms.

Tiffany Falden, a tax preparer who works at this location January-​April every year (and by appointment the rest of the year), handed our taxes extremely well. We’d previously worked with another tax preparer for over fifteen years, and our taxes are not exactly easy or standardized, so we were a bit aprehensive about choosing another preparer. After looking at several kinds of reviews online, we found many mentions of Ms. Falden, and decided to book an appointment with her. We have been very happy with the results she’s given to us. Tiffany understood everything our previous preparer had done, and was able to guide & help us through our taxes this year with no problems. We highly recommend her services!

It was the first time my wife and I wanted to work with someone to file our taxes. We’ve heard H&R advertisements everywhere so we decided to make an appointment. We had a lovely lady named Jacy, and she was very patient with us. My wife and I got into a heated discussion about our taxes and Jacy gave us a moment to discuss what we needed to discuss. When we finally got settled, Jacy was very nice and reassuring. She walked through all of the numbers with us which was awesome since we had no idea what a lot of the numbers mean. We were with her less than an hour and we came out with a huge smile on our faces. It was less painful than we thought. We’ll definitely be using H&R again next year, and hopefully working with Jacy again.

Just did my taxes yesterday at this H&R block location. Tiffany was extremely helpful and very knowledgable. Everyone on staff was personable and I was in and out within 20 mins. It was by far the best tax preparation services I have ever had.

Dont even think about using this location. Receptionist is rude and will laugh at you for asking questions. They admit they have no knowledge of the H&R Block software and how you can use both online and inoffice services to maximize time. They wont even give you a price breakdown of how much an appointment costs until you book and come in for an appointment. No thank you! Will be using turbotax.
