They closed their location here and for any reports of previous work done with them, they want their patients to drive to Bethesda to pick up the reports. They will not mail them to their patients even if they paid for the mailing cost!
Ps: who used a CD drive anymore anyway. Many laptops don’t even have those anymore!

The staff at the front desk are so rude and mean. You can book an appointment for the followup and then realize u need the referral even though they know you don’t have it and told you no problem. A waste of time

I’ve been in there twice and the front desk is unpleasant and rude. I don’t need you to hold my hand. However, I DO expect you to display a basic level of courtesy and understanding that patients are under some stress when looking for potentially serious medical conditions. There is no good reason to be unpleasant to people when they come in and zero excuse for hanging up on patients who call.

I got a referral from my doctor when I felt a lump. I had a wait a few days so I was kinda of mess leading up to the mammogram. I didn’t have a problem with the front desk staff – my beef is with the nurse doing the mammogram. She had zero bedside manner. I was pretty emotional and while I was not looking for her to hold me in her lap and rock me to sleep, a pat on the shoulder wouldn’t have hurt and would have gone a long way with me. Also, because I was in an emotional fog/​haze, I didn’t hear her tell me to remove my deodorant – so in the middle of the exam, she asked me if I had on deodorant and I said yes. She told me that she told me to take it off. I’m like «sorry, I didn’t hear you.» I asked what was the problem with deodorant and she said that it shows up on the x-​ray as cancer. So, immediately scrubbing my armpits to get it off and we tried it again. I asked if it was okay but she didn’t answer (I’m guessing that she’s not allow to say anything). She then told me to wait in the room and I’m in tears. The lady who did the sonogram was a lot nicer and clearly she knew that I was upset. After it was over, she showed the doctor and she came back and told me that it was a cyst. She smiled and asked if I feel better, which I most definitely did. That nurse who did the mammogram came across as someone who is jaded and doesn’t have a sympathetic bone in her body.

Very disorganized, unfriendly front desk people. Could hear confidential health information from patients calling in for appointments or other consultations. They need to keep patient information confidential.

as possible, yesterday I had USG done by Francesca? and mammogram by Denise. A year ago I had MRI of my knee done by a very friendly technician– gentleman with glasses. After my first such a positive experience whenever I need radiology service I set appointment at their office.

I visited this place twice this week. I had an appointment for a mammogram and a sonogram on Monday. It didn’t taker long for the tech to take me back for the mammogram. She asked for my previous mammogram and I told her that that I didn’t have them. She asked why? I said I wasn’t told that I needed them. She refused to do the mammogram stating that the doctor would need to compare the two. I suggested they do the mammogram since I was there, I would have the old ones sent over that day and they could compare and I could come back if they needed me to after the fact. Nope, she couldn’t do that because my results may change within a day or two. So fast forward to today. I went back for the mammogram and as the tech, a different woman with a heavy accent, prepares the machines and the paper work she ask me why I’m there. I said for a mammogram. She asked where is your pain? I said I don’t have any. She said well why are you here? I said because my doctor felt something and suggested that I have the mammogram. She said but what did you feel? I just looked at her like she was crazy and asked her to read the orders so that we could proceed. She finally started taking the images and when she took the picture of the left breast she said oh my, you do have a mass. Come here and look at this. I went over to see and immediately became terrified. She said you can go back now I have to take more images. I completed the test in tears. Once she finished she told me to put the smock back on and to sit in the waiting area. She said don’t get dressed because she has to talk to the doctor. She came back with another person and went on with her day. After 15 minutes I asked how much longer before I see the doctor. She said oh you have to have a sonogram. Someone else will be in to get you for that. What??? After the sonogram, which was uneventful in comparison, I was told that my doctor would get the results in ²⁴⁄₄₈ hours. So I’ve been a wreck every since.
The original sonogram that I had on Monday was performed by Laura. She was great!!! She was very personable and professional. She made me feel very comfortable, she answered questions when asked and explained the procedure. Kudos to her!
The receptionist… while I didn’t have a problem with them, I remember sitting there thinking they probably shouldn’t have the receptionist answering the phones to schedule appointments. They are in an open area. You can hear them confirming names, dates of births, addresses, what type of procedure the patient needs done. One receptionist was talking on the phone and getting irritated at the person because she couldn’t tell her the specific info that should have been on the order. After the 10 minute badgering session she hung up and began talking about the person that she just got off the phone with. Very unprofessional.
After leaving today I remembered why I started I switched to Washington Radiology Associates.

My primary care physician referred me to Groover, Christie and Merrit for a simple X-​Ray. I was told that it was on a drop-​in basis, and that no appointment was necessary for X-​Rays.
On this practice’s website, they indicate that they are open between 7:30am and 5pm, and that «There is no preparation and no appointment necessary [for Xrays] at any of our imaging sites.» When I arrived for the X-​ray at exactly 4:00pm, a full hour before their stated close of business, I was rather snippily told that I had already missed the 4:00pm cut-​off for X-​rays. When I pointed out that it was exactly 4:00pm, the receptionist cut me off and said flatly, «come back tomorrow.»
Had I known that their posted hours did NOT reflect their operating hours, I would have arranged to take earlier sick leave from work. It’s fine to have a cut-​off time for procedures, but a) this needs to appear SOMEWHERE on the website, and b) the receptionist’s rudeness was really uncalled for. There was no attempt to be empathetic at all.
I will not be returning, and have let my primary care office know about this negative experience.

As a referral, I contacted this office last week for an appt. I was able to get in for late morning today. Prior to visiting the office, I read its Unilocal reviews and was a bit terrified as I was a new patient coming in on my lunch break, so I was hoping to be in and out.
Well, unlike the previous reviews, I had a great experience. I was welcomed by staff immediately. The lady (I believe was spanish) took my information and was very kind, courteous and professional, as were her co-​workers. No later than 3−5mins after sitting down, the technician called me back. It was better than «in and out»! I believe my appt in its entirety was no longer than 25mins!
I’d definitely prefer here than the imaging center I would go to in Greenbelt. I also appreciate the separate exit where you don’t have to walk past everyone in the waiting room.
Note — if you are new, go to their website, under Patient Forms, print and fill out their patient and HIPAA form and bring it with you along with your ID and insurance card. That truly expedites your waiting time. I came prepared and it worked :)

Just like everyone says in the posts below, the front office staff is beyond rude and incompetent. Also, they charge 3 times the going rate for MRI and other procedures. Your insurance will likely only cover a third of the charges they work into their bill. Go somewhere else!

I’ve been twice. Once for an X-​ray and again for an MRI. I can’t disagree with other reviewers about their first impressions of the office. However, the techs that worked with me were so awesome. Especially, the lady that did my MRI. She was so nice, made sure I was comfortable, and kept me informed of what was happening. Her attitude made a normally anxiety-​inducing procedure almost pleasant.

I was cautious after reading other reviews, but these folks did a great job. I arrived on time with an appointment for an MRI and everyone I encountered was professional and courteous. I filled out the paperwork and waited exactly four minutes before the technician came and got me in the waiting room. My MRI technician was first rate and the equipment is clean and appears well maintained.

The experience with this office was troubled from the moment we called them. Not sure what they didn’t understand about a CT scan without contrast, but they asked about a dozen times what type of scan was needed. They never mentioned the need to fast until we asked. They never called back to schedule an appointment when they said they would, even though it was clear through doctors orders that it was urgent. When we arrived, it turns out they gave the wrong instructions about the type of test, so fasting was not needed and it would take less time. While this was a pleasant surprise, it means they didn’t know what the appointment was actually for when they made it. While waiting in the waiting room, another patient got up to get some water and a technician tells him, he shouldn’t be drinking any water before his exam. Apparently nobody ever told him that and this he had to reschedule his exam after waiting for at least 45 min in the waiting room. That tells me we weren’t the only ones this office didn’t communicate well with. Poor communication, no follow-​up, and low comprehension when it comes to doctors orders.

The tech at this location, a middle aged woman with short hair, is awesome. She was very nice and had a great deal of medical expertise that she was happy to share.
It is not the most aesthetically pleasing place in the world, but overall I was happy with the experience.

Go elsewhere for your imaging!
72 hours after I had imaging done to identify the source of a potentially major issue, I had no word from them and they hadn’t returned any calls. When they finally did, they only gave me results for half the tests that were done. When I asked about the other half, they said they had no record of those being done, which means not only did they lose the results but are so disorganized they didn’t even record the test taking place in my chart.
After that, I was in pain an entire long weekend (I was told the doctor was out Friday, Saturday, Sunday, and Monday!) before they could even redo the test.
Are these the kind of people you want to trust your healthcare to?!

They got me breeding when they did biopsy on me. The cut or the hole for the needle is so big, no wander I got breeding. I definitely followed their instruction not to take aspirin or Advil or any kind of blood thinner medicine. They told me I could take regular vitamins and yes I took it. They claimed that it was from my vitamin cause the breeding. I don’t think so but the doctor there didn’t do a good job. I got bruises all over my breast not just the part that they put the needle there but from their tools and also some nurses there tried to put a lot of pressure on my breast since I was breeding but I feel she did that too hard and become brutal and I was still hurt on the fourth day after biopsy now. It was not a good experience for me at all. I will not go back there again.
Also, the result of biopsy turned out to be no cancer and I just have a small calcium deposit which cannot feel that (need. Imaging to see it) but they still suggest me to have a surgery for that. I don’t believe their opinion at all, it doesn’t make sense to me.

Quick turn around time with results, which were readily available for patient and doctor within ²⁴⁄₄₈ hours. I greatly appreciated that.
Other than that I can’t think of many other positive things to say. I waited something like 30 – 40 minutes after my appointment time, listening to inappropriate commentary from the front desk staff.
Then the actual technician was completely inappropriate talking the whole time about how difficult her life is. By the end of the appointment after watching her dramatic reactions, I finally asked her if there was anything wrong and she said «I can’t tell you that. I can only tell you if everything is all good.»
…in other words. Yes, there is something wrong, but I wont tell you what I see. I think its medical communication 101 – just dont say anything if your not allowed to.

In the past week, I’ve gone here twice to get a CT scan and MRI. Yes, the front desk people can be rude and unpleasant to deal with. They certainly don’t fit the description of cheerful. That being said, I have to give them some credit for being pro-​active and efficient. The day I got my CT scan, I was a walk-​in. Even though the place was mad busy, they squeezed me in right away and my whole visit was less than 30 minutes. As for my MRI, they scheduled me to be the first of the day so I could get to my office on time and so my doctor would have my results before my appointment later that same day.
The two women who ran the tests were also very professional. Unlike the front desk employees, they were very upbeat and were great, especially the one who did the MRI.
Overall it is an efficient office that seems to know what it is doing. I certainly don’t have any complaints.

Hmmm. I’ll find out if they are as rude and condescending in person as the receptionist on the phone was when I just made my appointment.
I rarely post to Unilocal,but the conversation I just had was so much of a turn-​off that I simply had to say something. The female receptionist was rude, sighing with disdain when I didn’t know where to look on my referral sheet for certain medical jargon. If I were an expert in radiology, then I probably wouldn’t need their services.
I think overall, most people are a little bit anxious to be consulting physicians and specialists, as the process is invariably wrought with uncertainty related to your personal well-​being. To be in such a situation and be treated with condescension and rude behavior is disconcerting, to say the least.
Based on that one phone call, I say go elsewhere if you can.

For some reason, I find it hard to find medical receptionists who are attentive, pleasant, and on top of your billing questions. This place is no exception. I’ve been here several times and I’m very frequently seeing them arguing or in dispute with someone else. This was the first time I’ve had a dispute with them, but I can see why it happens to others.
I seriously have to find another radiologist. The medical staff who actually perform the tests aren’t that bad, but I would say they aren’t great either. However, the front desk staff is always rude, so expect that as a given when you go.
