History

Established in 2000.

While Natalie was working with the Historical Society of Washington DC, she began researching the ghost stories of the City. After she wrote and directed a ghost story drama for the Historical Society in the beautiful Christian Heurich House Museum in 1998, Natalie was invited by the Octagon House, The Decatur House and the Sewall-Belmont House Museums to create dramas based on their historic hauntings. These events thrilled museum-goers and Natalie decided that an outdoor event should be added to compliment the House Museum ghost tours. This first outdoor tour in Lafayette Square led to the debut of The Ghost Story Tour of Washington in October, 2000. Washington Area Residents, Tourists and the occasional celebrity have been treated by these tours and you will too. The buildings in Lafayette Square are closed at night so you won’t be «invited in» but you’ll still have a great, scary tour, no tricks from us!

Business Owner

After working with the Historical Society and DC Heritage Tourism Coalition (now Cultural Tourism) to develop interactive programs and walking tours, Natalie was well versed in the history of Washington DC. In 1999, Natalie decided to write and create her own tours. Her goal was to create interesting, interactive tours using actors to dramatize local history. The Ghost Story Tour was the first tour she created and it was followed by «A Dickens of a Tour: Charles Dickens in Washington» which led to «Bad Olde Days» and «Courage! The Civil War in Washington» and many more. Natalie also leads bus tours for the International Spy Museum, teaches drama to students with cognitive disabilities for Art-Stream.org and has provided historical characters for The Smithsonian Institution’s Air and Space Museum among others.
