Georgetown Moving and Storage

Had a wonderful experience using Georgetown Movers. From Ashley to Levar, the entire team was great to work with. Everything arrived on time and in the same condition as it left Washington.

I had a great experience with Georgetown Moving and Storage. They showed up 15 minutes early to my apartment in the morning and worked quickly and efficiently. They took the time to wrap my couch and other furniture really well. While they were a little more expensive compared to other movers I’ve used in the past, they definitely did a great job helping me move and I would definitely use them again.

I had an excellent experience with these guys. They helped on price for a move that took much longer than anticipated. They did a fantastic job moving heavy stuff up three flights of stairs. Highly recommend…

I had to move between two locations in Arlington in the rain earlier last month. These two gentlemen were very polite, asked me the appropriate questions as to what needed to be wrapped, very down-​to-​earth and considerate of my belongings. It was also very quick.
I had to schedule my move-​into loading dock at a time that didn’t exactly coincide with the move out. The movers were even very helping when I was stressing out about it.
The quote was very reasonable as well and came very quickly to me. Other moving places wanted home inspections and asked the same questions after filling out the quote form that answered them.
I see that other people posted pictures of damage. If I didn’t want something damaged, I make sure it is wrapped properly before the move. As to damage to apartment walls, sometime movers are asked to put a 8 foot bed frame and headboard within a cramped, cornered hallway to a bedroom.
I would recommend them to anyone who needs a move over all the others. Thanks guys!

The movers showed up early and said they were more than happy to wait until the scheduled time but we were able to get the move started when they arrived because they agreed that they would carry the furniture to the truck because the loading dock was not yet available for use. They did the same thing at my new apartment building, which was a huge relief because it meant I got the hard part done.
They wrapped all of my furniture and moved all of my boxes and then arranged my furniture in multiple arrangements at my new apartment because I wasn’t quite sure how I wanted it set up. They were friendly and professional and worked through lunch so we could keep the momentum going. I would definitely recommend them and use them in the future should I have to use. My one (minor) complaint is the price – it seemed kind of high, but for the convenience of everything I would definitely hire them again.

Incredibly happy with their service and pricing. I tried to go with Two Marines Moving at first and they were twice the price and had horrible support as I could never get anyone on the phone.

Georgetown mover’s were fast, efficient and very careful with my belongings. I was very impressed that they were able to accommodate me on very short notice. I would happily use them for any future moves and recommend them to friends and family.

I hired Georgetown movers to help with a move within the district. they did a fantastic job!!! They showed up exactly on time, and had our stuff loaded and unloaded in no time! I was honestly shocked at how quickly and efficiently they worked. The guys that moved us were extremely nice and I even had a nice chat with one while he was unloading our stuff. If/​when i move again, I will definitely hire Georgetown moving & co again!

I have had the pleasures of working with Ashley at Georgetown movers two times in the last six months. In the fall I had a POD delivered to the area and wanted to transfer the items to a nearby storage unit, plus deliver a couple items to my apartment. Then a week ago we had a move to a new apartment. I would like to thank Georgetown for the ease of each move. Both times I was able to coordinate the move via email and phone communication. The moves were handled professionally and quickly. The day prior to the move I made a few changes and they said «no problem».

Georgetown Moving did a wonderful job moving my household goods from a POD to my studio. I called and received same day service for a very reasonable price. I will definitely utilize the service again when I move! I appreciate the friendly staff and the speed. Even though it’s an hourly charge the two movers were careful yet quick so I did not have to pay more than the two hour flat rate. They even assembled my bed saving me time. Not sure what I would have done without this quality service. Definitely worth it

My experience with Georgetown Moving & Storage Co. was great. I wanted a company that would basically do all of the work for me because I did not have a lot of time to do stuff on my own and that’s exactly what they did. They were very nice with helping explain to me how the process works and break down the pricing for me. They also responded to my emails in a very timely manner and easily gave me an appointment for my preferred date. They confirmed my move a couple of days before which I liked. The movers were extremely professional and came right on time (even five minutes early) and were so helpful and polite throughout the process. They were also very quick which is important to me. Overall, I had a very pleasant experience with Georgetown Moving and will definitely be using their services again the next time I move.

I had a very pleasant experience with Georgetown Moving and Storage Co. for a recent move from VA to DC. I first called the office looking for a quote and Chanel quickly helped me input my various items into the system. I received a quote by email literally 5 minutes after the call ended and it was very competitive compared to other movers I had contacted.
My move was more complex than most, but the guys handled it great. A day prior to the move, I received a call from the office to confirm that everything was in order. I had two pick up locations for my various items, both with specific pick up times. The truck was on there exactly as scheduled and the movers loaded everything efficiently with padding as needed.
At the drop off location, the guys were very patient as well when I dealt with the leasing office. I was very impressed by their professionalism and great communication by phone. I really have no complaints and will definitely use Georgetown Moving and Storage Co for my next big move. Thanks!

I booked with Georgetown Moving and Storage with only a few days’ notice. While no other moving company had availability for a 1^st of the month move, Georgetown Moving was incredibly accomodating in ensuring that I moved into my new place by that day. Already, I was very grateful. The planning process was very easy — received the first estimate right away, and then a second one only minutes after calling for clarificiation. My move was scheduled for 9:30 am and I received a call around 9:25 from one of the movers letting me know they were caught in a bit of traffic. I really appreciated the heads up, and they were still on time! I had purchased a parking permit for the street parking in front of my house, and so the truck pulled right up, surveyed the objects going in the truck and got to work. We even fiinished loading and unloading almost an hour earlier than anticipated. This was the first time I used a moving service and I needed help moving from one rowhouse to another — I could not have been more satisfied! The movers separated my belongings based on kitchen and bedroom so that I would not have to make unneccessary trips up and down the stairs, and my paintings and fragile glasses were transported in excellent condition.
Both men were fast, courteous, funny, and efficient. I could not have completed this last-​minute move without the help of Georgetown Moving and Storage, and I will most definitely use them for my next move in the city.

I had two movers who were great. They came on time, were polite, and worked quickly. The movers helped me package all of my belongings and then carefully loaded my things unto their moving truck. They helped me make the most out of each material available so that I was not racking up too much money using their materials. My moving experience took a little under three hours. In addition, I appreciated how clearly they explained my price breakdown and they were patient with me as I carefully read each document before I signed them.
I would and have recommended others to use Georgetown Moving and Storage Co. services because I really enjoyed my experience :))

The movers were great. I received a quote quite quickly from the company and everyone was fairly responsive in the planning process. Movers arrived on time, and were quick and flexible.
The final total was slightly higher than quoted, and it was a bit pricey, but I needed something at the last minute, and they were able to schedule something on such short notice.
Definitely recommend.

This company was the best moving company I have ever experienced and I’m a Navy Brat, and have moved 8 times since 1985.
First, the truck driver was EARLY, called and courteously waited in the driveway. It was better for me to be EARLY. They got to work immediately broke down carefully everything needed. They stopped me from packing too quickly where I might have damaged plates.
They brought everything in and set it up, and I had moved too much. The put back what wasn’t needed, were courteous, respectful and effective the ENTIRE 3 hour time. I hope more people use this company. This kind of company with this high quality needs to get business to stay in business so we can all experience service at the highest quality.

I have pleasant experience with the company. They are very professional. I would give a credit for Del who was working hard and keep good smile even though him and his team were working to move my stuff for 9 hours. I won’t hesitate to work with again.

I used them twice in a short period of time — once to move my family member with a small amount of furniture from a house into assisted living… then a second time to move the rest of the house contents into storage. Obviously if the first move had been totally botched I never would have hired them for part two, so the one star rating is for the second event (aka worst move I’ve ever had).
A friend of mine died and as executor I had to empty the house and get things into a rental storage unit so I could sell the house. I had a good experience with Georgetown on part one, so I went ahead and got them for part two.
They got there on time and finished on time, so I really can’t complain about that. However, after they were long gone — like a month later — I went to the storage space to get some of the items out and I found that 100% of the glass on every single piece of art was smashed. About 10 pieces of framed art with glass — all of them broken. Things had been packed so shoddily that the art wasn’t even protected in the boxes. Thankfully none of the art itself was damaged and I was able to salvage the frames and art without slicing my hands on all the glass. I also found that some fragile items that I carefully directed how I wanted them packed and moved… the instructions were disregarded and things were carelessly folded and jammed into ill-​fitting boxes.
I realize you have to catch these things before the van pulls away or it’s your own fault. But I had the items packed for storage so they KNEW I wasn’t going to be unwrapping anything while they were there. I was irate. I’ve drafted a letter I’m mailing to them and I’m not expecting any reimbursement or apology, but I want them to know what a lame-​o job was done.
Never using this company again!!!

I was contacted by the manager about this review and I provided dates and other specific information so he could verify Georgetown did perform both moves. He apologized for the inconvenience and the damage, and said the firm is under new management. He offered me a nice sized credit toward a future move, which I declined. I very much appreciated his reaching out.
