Vital is amazing. A few months ago I’d never had a Thai massage and now I’ve had two with V. It’s like a combination of physical therapy and a giant human foam roller. It’s not a relaxing/​soothing massage; it’s more like assisted stretching and applying pressure to the tight areas to make them release. It does wonders for tight/​sore muscles, tendons, and ligaments. If you’re a runner, I highly suggest! Your body will feel brand new the next day!

I was treated to my first massage ever by Marya (sp?) and I cannot recommend her enough! I came in not knowing much about what I would get from a massage but mainly just wanted to relax a bit but she listened to all my requests and gave me a full-​body relaxation experience. So accommodating, understanding, thorough and attentive to detail. I will definitely be back for a sports massage after my next big race!

Deborah is an angel. Like all the best massage therapists, she radiates a warmth and caring that comes through in her work. At my first appointment, she impressed me by getting affirmative consent to touch my hands, feet and head, and asked if there were any places she shouldn’t touch. She told me after one appointment that she can literally see my muscles relax as she works on me; given the enormous difference I feel in my body after an appointment with her, I believe it! I have a lot of very tight muscles; Deborah manages to find the sweet spot of enough force/​pressure to relax them without causing pain (and further tension). She is great at listening to her patients and also helping them discover things about their own bodies. I go every month and I always look forward to it. I’ve had other massages before, but this is the first place that made me want to become a regular.
The practice in general is also quite nice. You can book easily online and get automated reminders about your appointments. They accept credit cards via Square. The office is easily reached via the Circulator. The treatment rooms themselves are upstairs, and they’ve done a great job of making it seem like you’re far away from the city. There isn’t a big waiting area, but since they are so punctual, you’re never waiting long, and the chairs are very comfortable. The massage tables are sturdy and comfortable, the sheets are crisp and clean. The music is relaxing without being cheesy, and the lotion smells pleasant without being overpowering (this last point is very important to me because I am very sensitive to fragrance).

Georgetown Massage and Bodyworks comes to our office twice a week. I’ve been getting a massage from Deborah every week for the last 5 months and never realized how much discomfort I had been living with. As someone else mentioned, this is no feel-​good massage; lots of joint/​spinal manipulation and deep tissue. When you get off the table you feel taller and like you can take on the world. Highly recommend them!

Alison and her team provide an outstanding, personalized treatment in the most efficient spot I’ve found in the Georgetown area. I love the boutique, private setting, full 60 minutes (unlike at spas), and being able to book online!

Allison is an amazing massage therapist. I was on business in DC and found her here on Unilocal (Alleva is former name with reviews). I had a 90 min. massage with her that was absolutely awesome and healing. She has a magic touch– strong and sure, able to work out my clenched muscles in my neck and shoulders and hips. She also taught me a yoga pose to keep my pelvic tendons stretched. Allison is well-​trained and versed in multiple techniques. She incorporated some Thai massage stretching that really helped relax tension in my lower back. I cannot recommend this studio enough, as it is in a great neighborhood with a highly skilled practitoner. Go get relaxed!

I was traveling and lucky to find Alison through Unilocal.She is an expert listener and a creative, thorough professional who clearly knows her field. I had an hour-​long deep tissue massage to work through several sore spots and left feeling quite better.

Alison has helped me tremendously! I started going to her a few years ago when my bone spur in my neck was acting up. I have been going to her on a regular basis ever since then. I have been going to Alison for several years now. I first started going to her when my company booked her for seated massages. I quickly became addicted to them and moved up to a 60 minute deep tissue massages. I try to get Alison monthly and enjoy every massage I have ever gotten from her. She focuses on areas where I am having issues and always delivers a great experience. Alison is extremely professional and takes the time to get to know you so you always feel comfortable. I am going tomorrow night for a massage from her & can’t wait :)

Amazing massage. Alison is very profession and polite. One thing I like about Alison is that she always asks how my body is feeling and if I’m tense or sore any any particular area and then places extra focus on that area. My company has hired her to come to us and give massages every week. Even after giving massages all day she still has amazingly high energy and is always cheerful.
Never taught that a massage in a chair could be so relaxing. It totally resets me and relaxes me for the day. Everyone at the company loves her (all 200 of us) and we wish we could have her come more often. Truly amazing massages.
