Not totally sure why this place only has 2.5 stars, but I guess I’ve only ever ordered 2 things from here the whole year I’ve been coming. I used to come for breakfast at least twice a week and in the beginning, I’d alternate between getting breakfast burritos and egg-white veggie omelets(during my healthy weeks). Then I realized, why would I ever need to eat anything else when the burritos are literally heaven in my mouth? I always customize the burrito to cheddar cheese and add onions and avocado in a wheat wrap. It already comes with sausage, tomatoes, jalapenos and hash browns. Let me repeat that. Hash browns. In the burrito. I can’t imagine a better breakfast burrito, anywhere. Now that I’m only on campus once a week, it’s become a ritual to get there early just so I can grab my burrito and coffee. It’s always the same guy working the register in the mornings and the same guy making my burrito, and maybe it’s wishful thinking but I’m pretty sure they know me which is why I’ve gotten free coffee once or twice. I really can’t speak to any of the rest of the food on the menu, but I’ve seen the hot bar food and it looks/smells pretty good? Overall though, the breakfast burrito is the reason I live and I’ll surely keep coming for it after I graduate.

Was walking to the Lincoln Memorial and needed a place to eat … We are tourist and didn’t know any places here. The Cowboy burger was awesome. The chicken and cheese sandwich was very tasty. Great service and quick. We were very happy after having eaten here.

This was a very uneven experience. Good turkey burger and chicken avocado wrap(although the spinach wrap was salty). However the western omelet and hash browns that one of our party got was horrendous, with a rancid oil flavor.

Place is great if you know what to order. For me, that’s the two specials: The breakfast special is a an omette with shredded chicken, cheddar cheese, onion and salsa. It comes with a side of greasy homefries and only costs $ 5.60! If you need a hearty breakfast to start your day, this is a cheap, solid choice. The lunch special is a sliced chicken breast sandwich topped with bacon and provolone cheese. Like it’s breakfast sibling, it comes with a side of greasy fried potatoes and only costs about $ 7. I kind of ignore the hot bar and everything else. It all tastes fine, but ain’t worth the price. This is also a place that offers bottled unsweetened Asian teas, like oolong or matcha green tea.

I freaking hate this place from how to expensive it is and how it is the closest Asian place to my work!!! I want to stop going here but I can’t — their food is actually not bad and addicting for what it is. This place has buffet style trays and charges you based on the weight of your food. They have an assortment of hot meals, salad, fruit, sushi, noodles, dim sum, etc. Despite their large variety, I question how long the food sits there and how fresh it is because it seems like they have way too much to get rid of during the day! Even when I feel like I am not putting a lot on my plate. Just the other day, I put some noodles, salad, and a piece of sushi and that was 7.50. If you get fruit, don’t be surprised if you spend 10 dollars or more bc that is heavy. If you care about your wallet and not being hungry still right after, eat here at your own risk!

Don’t waste your money at the buffet here. The food is overpriced and it wasn’t even warm. The sandwiches here are okay, but the price doesn’t include fries. Recommend you stroll over to the cafeteria in the red cross building instead, where the food is much better and cheaper.

I haven’t been here for years, but it seems not much has changed other than my tastes. I used to love the tuna melt, now I think it’s just alright. It has chopped up celery and the cheese is good and there isn’t too much mayo, all good things, but the bread is pretty bad. If the bread were better and they could find a way of cooking it that didn’t make it too soggy, then it would be a sandwich worth repeating. I also got the shrimp spring rolls which were fine. Missing some cilantro or something. Like everyone here, lamenting the fact that I spent $ 12 for that lunch.

Yeah, the price-to-weight is rather overpriced, but its consistent with all other locations at gwu. That being said, Gallery definitely has good food. I’ve been eating here every day since I moved into Ivory, and while I kind of miss having a full wallet, the food keeps me satisfied enough to keep coming here. Some of my personal favorites: The baked tilapia, red mango curry, and the beef bibimbap. DONTGETTHEBUBBLETEA. Completely unauthentic and frankly I think it is a disgrace tot he name of bubble tea.

I normally come here for breakfast… but I’m not sure if i want to anymore. The food is good, but I witnessed an older man behind the counter picking at something in the back of his mouth. He was so obvious standing next to the guy who normally takes orders. He went in the first time. I expected him to turn around and use the sink to wash his hands. Instead he straighted up the cups… then he went back into his mouth with his other hand… again i watched him thinking he would wash his hands. Then two women who are cleaning ladies that I see see everytime i’m in there ordered coffee. He went right in there and made their coffee no more than a minute after digging in his mouth with both hands. I was so grossed out but i took my food because he wasn’t cooking it but it made me wonder what else does he handle…

I went here for lunch because I wanted something light, but also spicy. I got some spicy tofu, spicy noodles, bean sprouts, slaw, kimchi, and bulgogi and it was $ 6.73. Everything was tasty and the spicy things lived up to their name. I’m sure this does get expensive if you load up your box.

The other reviewers are correct when they say the by-weight portion is overpriced. The reason it is so overpriced is due to the captive market of GW students that they have. As soon as vendors get on the GWorld card program, GW’s dining debit system, their prices reflect it. The Gallery is in the bottom of the most popular dorm on campus, across from the gym, and next to Dunkin Donuts and the ever-popular Pita Pit, so it sees a ton of business to inflate those prices. That being said, stick to two menu items, and you’re fine. The Cowboy burger is literally one of my favorite burgers in DC, and price/quality ratio is the best by far. $ 5.79 for a solid bacon cheeseburger and a TON of fries. I’m convinced I love their burgers so much because the buns are good, but the massive amount of fries helps. Plus — they just switched last year to better, crispier fries, so it’s an even more appetizing meal. The same can be said for the 23rd Street, which is a a Cowboy with Chicken substituting in for the Burger. Another good deal, but the Cowboy is my prime choice. The other sandwiches on the menu(Which you need to stick to! Stay away from the by weight options!) are all pretty good too, but they don’t come with fries, so they’re not as great a deal.

Move over Whole Foods, there’s a pricier salad bar in town. Time after time, I go here for a quick lunch, planning just to get some sushi, a little salad, maybe a spoonful of mac n cheese, nothing too expensive. Then I get to the cash register to weigh my box and caaaaaaaaaa-ching! My little box must be worth more than gold cause apparently I just put $ 15 worth of salad bar into it. I’m telling ya folks, the prices here are way, way too high for a hot bar. I would come here more often if it weren’t so outrageous. I’m not really sure why it is SO expensive, but I think it has something to do with being on the GW campus, which is infamous for squeezing every penny they can out of you(and their students’ rich parents). You come in for a salad(which is relatively light) but this place sure gets you with the heavy items like fruit and the hot bar which has chinese food, pasta, and meat. It’s not even great chinese food either sometimes, since it’s been sitting out so long. And like the other person mentioned, the staff always seems grumpy. Alas, the sushi and mac n cheese(90% cheese, 10% mac, and 110% delicious) make a delicious lunch, which is how they have me totally suckered in to their high-priced scheme. They get an extra star for their close proximity to where I work.

Early in the morning, I don’t want the restaurant staff to be grumpier than I am. Heck, when I go to work, I act cheery. Even when I served up sandwiches at 4:30 a.m., I was still friendly. Here, the lady behind the café counter was not friendly looking. Or rather her expression wasn’t friendly(But maybe that’s the way her face looks… if so, then I apologize). I think part of it may have been that she didn’t understand me. I was hungry. The guys making my breakfast sandwich, on the other hand, were in great moods, bantering back and forth in lively Espanol… although they weren’t talking to me. But, then again, I wasn’t there for the friends, I wanted two kinds of protein with melted cheese on carb. That I got. Just an aside, this GW building is called the Ivory Tower. And it’s not all white and shiny… It’s a new building. I really hope whoever named it had their tongue in their cheek… or that someone named Ivory donated a whole lot of dough.
