It is not worth it. I just spent roughly 50 $ on my nails to have three break a week after. this has never happened to me. not to mention the person was very rough… the service suck

This was my first time here and I’m so glad this gem is in my neighborhood. Thao took care of my mani/pedicure and she was so friendly and meticulously detailed. Only complaints are that they charge $ 2 for using card and that they don’t have a huge selection of colors.

This place is one of few in DC with a parking space to accommodate 4 – 5 cars(depending on size and car positions). So, this was a plus to save a few coins. As this is not my first visit, I am aware of the ups and downs of this nail salon(upkeep and technicians) and my rating of 3 stars will suffice. I arrived an half hour after 10AM(opening) and there were only three nail technicians working. There were already a few ladies waiting to be serviced so I wrote my name on their book and sat in the window area/pane(whatever you want to call it when you see it). After a few minutes(maybe 15 minutes) nail technicians entered the building to accommodate the patient patrons, and I was the last one on the list to be attended to. A woman asked me what I was getting(of course they are not looking at their book, a waste of my muscle energy) and I told her a fill-in. My nails were horrid so anyone available to snatch them back in order I went with. I sat down at her station and here comes the question of «are you getting your toes done?» I replied nicely, no just my nails. She then started to work on my nails. Mind you, my reference on how my nails were and the dire need of a fill-in(acrylic) I paid attention to everything she did or tried for that matter. She apparently got annoyed when I checked the filing, acrylic application, and coloring. When I use my hard earned coins, I’m looking for the best you can do. So when she had removed some of the old acrylic powder, I looked at my nails then saw the exact reason I came still present. I told her to make sure she removes the old lifting acrylic before applying a new set of powder. She wanted to refuse so badly I had to show her it was still lifting up. She did as I requested but not thorough as I am use to. She then replied that the new application will be over the old one.(Ding dong… I know it is only a fill-in but I’m not coming back to her again) Since I wanted to hurry up and get back to work I just let her finish doing the job. She asked me about what color I was using. I had three nail polishes that I wanted on my hands. She looked at me then stated that will be $ 3 extra to use three different colors(the nail polishes were at her station as soon as I sat down and in plain sight and I already paid after the fill-in was completed). I replied and stated I’m not paying extra to put two additional colors on two fingers on each hand. She then said ok I’ll do it.(Her way of defusing the annoyance from the client.) She definitely was not doing me any favors because I was just going to get one color to avoid paying any extra fees that is not posted anywhere in the nail salon. After my nails were done I let them dry as much as I could before leaving the place. I did put little unnoticeable dents in my nails since I rather air dry the remainder 10+ minutes. I did a double take on my nails and the polishing of the whole nail was not done and to think she would’ve gotten it right after the many coats she applied. In all, I only paid $ 12 for my fill-in and $ 2 fee for credit card use which totals up to $ 14. Affordable, yes. Worth it, somewhat. Will I be returning here? No, this was just a quick fix to a horrid, dire need fill-in. FYI — This review is based off of one nail technician. I experienced others but did not do a review on my last scattered visits. Hope this helps… always good to try on your own to experience.

This place is great. It’s inexpensive– so let’s get our expectations under control. For example, $ 17 pedicure, $ 25 gel manicure. There is no cucumber water or thick terrycloth robes. Good, now that we’re all on the same page– this is what I wanted, needed, exceeded my expectations, and what therefore earned my 5 stars. The massage chairs for the pedicure are beat up, but they beat your back up like they are supposed to do. The normal mani colors are from varied brands, none of them known. There is little glitz and glam to this salon, they are about getting things done right. My aesthetician was with me through my gel mani and normal pedi. She was meticulous and responded to my every little cuticle concern. She did the perfect straight french gel mani. No overbuffing, no repetitive treatment, all clean tools. I felt like each nail was treated individually and addressed as sisters, not twins. The polish was gel II, which I have not used before. If it peels off in the next week, I’ll amend this fab review. PS: CASHONLY– credit earns you an extra fee– $ 2 or $ 5(idk, I luckily had cash)

This place is the worst. I went in with my friend to get a mani-pedi, signed in, and proceeded to wait for almost an hour. Once the man began giving my friend a pedicure, he then announced that he could not offer me service because«boys don’t do boys» and the only women working there were busy and would not be able to help me until the next day. You know, if you want to deny someone service based on gender, fine, whatever, I’m not going to sue you, but you better let me know that as soon as I get there and you ask me to sign in. Regarding the brief service my friend received, none of the tools were sanitized. We were both thrilled to have an excuse to escape this nightmare.

I went in to get a gel mani/pedi(57 $). Johnny did a great job and even gave me a back massage. I also did my eyebrows with Jenny(6 $). I told her I wanted them cleaned up just a tad and she did exactly as she was told. My brows are now on fleek The place itself is pretty clean and the prices are not bad. Only thing is if you pay with a debit or credit card there is a 2 $ extra charge.

It looks a little sketch so I was shocked to have a decent experience here. I ran in quickly during my lunch hour for eyelash extensions. Teri did a good job and they were $ 25. the strange part is that she does it with your eyes open. I’ve never been asked to keep them open and was tearing up the entire time. I was up sold a brow wax for $ 6 which was fine. I only stopped in because it’s near Woodlands one of the best vegan restaurants ever. Can’t comment on the manicures. I would actually go back.

I live in Columbia Heights and walked to this Nail Salon via Georgia Avenue, REDFLAGS!!! 1. Misquoted and Overcharged both Times I was there. 2. Poor service 3. THEYCOLOR/SHARPIE THEIRLIGHTBULBSTOLOOKLIKEEXPENSIVEUVLIGHTS!!! I have been there twice… the first time I got a pedicure by a woman who did well, but misquoted me and I ended up paying more at the end. The second time… I was quoted 37 $ for a French Full Set and a Spa Pedicure. The man who performed these things tried to NICKELANDDIMEMETHEWHOLETIME! I picked two colors during the pedicure, one for my big toes and one for the rest… this is NOT A DESIGN! ITISNAILPOLISHWHICHISINCLUDEDWITH A PEDICURE!!! AFTERHEPAINTEDTHEMHESAIDITWOULDBE5 $ MOREFORTHE«DESIGN.» ALLYOUDIDWASPAINTMYTOES! Then he started giving me a manicure… a regular manicure… then got angry at me when half way through I said…“Excuse me… I asked for a French Full Set?” Still tried to NICKELANDDIMEME… by saying it was 5 more than she quoted me. After I was through the worst part of the visit occurred… after receiving gel nails which require the UV lights, I was made to put my hands under a light… when I noticed the reflection in the table and investigated… I found a sharpie colored regular light bulb!!! AREYOU KiDDING ME!!! NEVERAGAIN!!! ZEROSTARS! I WONTBERETURNING!
