Great service at reasonable prices. I was weary at first because they were a gas station, but I haven’t encountered many other more honest mechanics. The new service manager Mike knows the value of good service and reputation.

Mike is great, so helpful and talked to my warranty company for a while on the phone before replacing the actuator to my door locks. He was fast and kind!

I went about a year ago for an oil change. Jara then called me in a panic about how dangerously worn one set of brakes were and that I shouldn’t even be on the road and the replacement would cost $xxx and I could I pay that all in one breath. I pushed back on the brakes and she gave me the «mechanics are going to try to rip you off because you’re a woman» line. I told her I wasn’t having any problems with the brakes, and after yelling out to someone in the garage, Jara returned to the phone, apologized, and said my brakes were fine, but I needed discs shaved.
Finally, a year+ later, I’ve received a second opinion on the brakes from another mechanic. There is a 2 mm difference between my front and rear brakes, and neither set is in need of replacement.
I do not trust this place under this management and will never return despite it being 3 blocks from where I live.

$ 96 for a routine oil change (they quoted $ 50), and the service light came on afterward. I asked them to call me if they had any questions; they could have, but didn’t. Overpriced and indifferent. I won’t return.

My brakes were squeaking and they quoted me an outrageous number for the work. Paid the $ 55 check-​out fee (after tax) and took it somewhere else where they did MORE work for $ 350 LESS than what Embassy quoted me. Plus, they wanted to put new rotors on the front brakes but not replace the front pads, which should have been done and so would have increased the cost even more. And just as a random side note, their drop off form is illegible and unprofessional. Even after paying the check-​out fee, I saved hundreds of dollars by going somewhere else.

I’m very pleased with the service I received from Jara & Johnny at Embassey Servicecenter. I am very encouraged with the recent changes they have made in an attempt to up grade service and provide a fair price for these services. I had work done there last week on my BMW 740il and was more than pleased with the work performed and with the price that I was charged for that work. I plan on returning to them this week to have more work done. I anticipate that I will receive the excellent outcome as I did last week. I live in DuPont Circle so having a shop that I can depend upon is very important to me. If my visit works out, then I will write follow up review to help others looking for a top shop in the area…

Worst auto repair place. I still had so many issues after my repair and they kept suggesting more and more unnecessary repairs. I finally took it somewhere else and took the repairs apart and noticed what a horrible job they did. They jammed everything and did not do a clean job. The auto repair manager here is arrogant and comes off as a know it all. She sells repairs too hard to make up for the inefficiencies of the poor work that is done on the cars here. Never going back!!!

Jara, the service manager at Embassy Servicenter is «efficiency personified». She was so helpful, efficient, persistent and incredibly proficient in her job. I’m so thankful that I pulled into her shop at 2200 P St, NW this morning. The side mirror on the driver’s side of my car had been knocked off this morning. I explained to Jara that I needed it replaced/​repaired as quickly as possible because I am planning to drive to North Carolina tomorrow morning and obviously need that side mirror. She quickly called around to several vendors to see who could get her the Toyota Camry side mirror. She was persistent and relentless until she found a vendor who could deliver it to her shop this afternoon. True to her word, she phoned me at 2:30 to say the part had arrived. I returned to the station at 3:30 and within 20 minutes, the part was installed and functioning as intended. That type of attention to client’s need is such a welcome experience and one that I greatly appreciate. I’m pleased to be able to send more business Jara’s way because I know other customers will come away as satisfied as I am today.

i’ve been to this service center twice now. the first time jara gave me what appears to be the standard speech: «mechanics like to rip off young women who don’t know anything about cars so get to know your car». i totally bought it, hook line and sinker.
i recently took my car back for what i expected was an exhaust problem. first time she called me about the problem, she said they wanted to replace the O2 sensor which screws into the exhaust but said there were no problems with the exhaust that they could see. then she calls me back to say that the whole exhaust behind the catalytic converter was rusted and hanging from the car. didn’t make much sense based on the first call but i gave her the benefit of the doubt, in spite of the fact that she was rude, condescending and brusque through all of these phone calls.
yesterday my boyfriend went to pick up the car. the car was fixed. it also reeked of cigarette smoke, both front seats were leaned almost all the way back, there was a cell phone in the back seat with some packaging for a cell phone charger on the floor, and 140 MORE MILES ON THE CAR THAN WHEN I DROPPED IT OFF. jara could offer NO explanation for any of these things. she also gave us trouble using a Unilocal coupon which she had told us back in june she would honor past the expiration date and then she claimed that she didn’t work there back in june, a flat out lie.
never ever going back here. completely unprofessional and unacceptable.

The service was expected for a typical oil change, quick and simple. Although the price was unexpected for 5 quartz, over $ 45! I can get the same service elsewhere in DC for $ 20 less

All the previous ratings should be ignored!!! I grew up around cars and have always know what to look for in a good honest mechanic… until 3 weeks ago I would drive to Lorton, VA bc of the trust factor… I can now say, «THANK YOU JARA FOR SAVING ME!!!»
JARA is the service manager and will work for you… she is on top of her game, knows what needs to be done and searches for the correct fix, not what is gonna make the shop a profit!!!
I took my food truck there and he son changed my oil in 30 minutes for under $ 50!!! I had been quoted $ 159 atone place & over $ 300 at the «dealership.» JARA told she believed in a fair price, I gave her son a $ 20 tip bc I felt they gave me more value than they charged…
A week later I took my Chrysler 300c in to have a mirror replaced… JARA hunted for the least expensive factory part for me & had the car done within an hour!!!
This team is very hard working and honest and I couldn’t offer a higher recommendation.

If you’re a single woman living in a big city, sometimes life feels like Journey song and you know you are being seen as a wide-​eyed coin purse ready to be fleeced.
Few things are as intimidating to me as car repairs. I just want a place where I know my car isn’t being taken apart and then to have it put back together I’m being charged extra; a place where I feel safe and not leered at while I’m waiting; a place where the service folks explain things, and not things like how they will take more of my hard earned cash; a place where I can go in and get the one issue I know exists resolved without five more magically appearing or starting within 3 hours of leaving the center; a place I could call my own, a place… well, a place I doubted existed in DC.
Until I came here. I needed an oil change and I was nervous. After going to a few places and being turned away, I stumbled on Embassy Service Center. Here the woman in charge was gracious, kind, and friendly. They explained the elements of the basic oil change and what they would be doing to my vehicle. Somehow, I received my vehicle in BETTER condition than when I took it to them.

That’s right. No, they’re not cheap; nothing in DC is cheap these days. But I do think you get more than you pay for when you come here.
They’re also discussing possibly offering free classes to teach folks how to do things like, change a tire if stranded on the side of the road, check the oil, etc. While most of the basics I know how to do, I find it commendable that they want to empower folks. And it’s nice to know there is at least one honest service center in town. My next oil change? It will be here…

I can only say they’re outstanding. I’ve been taking my car there for three years, they’re reasonable, safe, and most of all, honest. Last year, they identified a growing situation with my electronic ignition and if I would have listened to them I would have saved the aggravation of a highway breakdown.
From oil changes to major repairs, they are attentive to detail and customer needs. Better than any dealer I’ve seen
