The phone number on their website isn’t even working. The staff never smiles. They don’t have any idea about basic questions like tax return agreement between Turkey and US.

Awesome embassy, it’s like a place on the inside and a beautiful piece of art on the outside.
The embassy day event here was well run and did a great job of highlighting works produced by Turkish artists and their delicious food… mmm kabobs on pita oh how I love it!
As for those artists I mentioned, I met an amazing painting at the embassy that had really reasonable original works of art. Now, I have a painting and a great memory.

The line to get in was looooong, but the welcome was warm, and after waiting in line to get in, there was yet another line to get to the wine tasting… It was worth it! The white wine I tried was delicious, fruity, and refreshing. Then they offered Turkish delights and nuts.
There were loads of tables set up with tourist information and little doodads for sale. There was also a little room off to the side where they were screening a tourism video about golfing in Turkey. Who knew? That was the best part. I parked myself in this dark air-​conditioned room with comfy chairs, drank my wine, ate my complimentary toasted hazelnuts, and chilled for a few minutes before heading off to the next embassy. Like a little mini-​vacation on Embassy Open House Day.
