Embassy of New Zealand

The Embassy of New Zealand offers strategic roadmaps, seminars, conferences, workshops, international education, tourism information, travel information, trade & enterprise information, information on international aide and development, and services in foreign affairs. Located next to the British Embassy, I came here for an event for work and I was pleasantly surprised. The building itself isn’t too big, but I really liked the banquet/​reception area that was located downstairs. High ceilings, great woodwork, and large glass windows with plants. There was even a nice brick-​floored patio outside, overlooking some trees. The other areas include a conference room where you can have exhibitions or meetings; the bathrooms were very clean; there is also a sitting area where you can chit-​chat. There are plenty of parking spaces available along Observatory Circle.

I came here for the installation ceremony of the Rotary District 7620 Governor. He’s a native New Zealander even though he’s been in the States forever. The Embassy is quite nice and the reception area where the installation was held was roomy, pleasant, well lit and all around enjoyable. It’s easy to get to and easy to park.
Hey what can you say about the Embassy of a friendly country? It’s a great place.

I didn’t come here for the Embassy Open House… I came here for something much more important… A rugby-​watching party with a full open bar at 6am. Damn, these Kiwis are badass! I got there blessedly late (at around 11am) to find the game over, but the party still roaring with liquor sponsors begging to be able to pack up and go home. I had a couple of drinks, met a whole bunch of cool people, and enjoyed the absolutely beautiful grand reception hall built out of New Zealand wood with floor to ceiling windows overlooking a beautiful back yard.
This embassy will always have a warm place in my heart.
