The practitioners at Elements are dedicated to bringing about the joy that comes from moving freely to everyone of all ages and health. Whether you are a professional athlete or someone looking to improve your overall mobility and fitness, there is a program here for you. We offer Gyrotonic® exercise sessions, Pilates, Physical Therapy, Acupuncture and many different types of body work including: Swedish and deep tissue massage, Cranial Sacral therapy, Reflexology and Reiki. In addition, we have frequent special events with master trainers, physical therapists and special guests. You will receive one on one sessions with a highly experienced caring practitioner. History

Established in 2007.

Over the past 8 years we have grown to include the most effective healing modalities available. We started with Gyrotonic exercise and have added Pilates, Acupuncture, Massage and 5 physical therapists. We have grown in to a kind, personalized oasis from the city, for you to learn, move and heal. We look forward to your visit.

Meet the Business Owner

Business Owner

Dr. Justine Bernard began studying Gyrokinesis® in 1994 with Hillary Cartwright while on scholarship at The Ailey School for Dance in New York, NY. She studied with Juliu Horvath at White Cloud and became certified to teach Gyrotonic® exercise in 1997 and Gyrokinesis® in 1999. She taught at Studio Riverside under the guidance of authorized master trainer Leda Franklin for many years.

In 2003 she received her Doctorate in Physical Therapy from Columbia University, College of Physicians and Surgeons specializing in Neurological and Orthopedic Rehabilitation. After working at St Luke’s Roosevelt Hospital and Columbia Presbyterian Medical Center as a physical therapist, she returned back home to Washington, DC to teach Gyrotonic® exercise and open a private physical therapy practice. Dr. Bernard is currently a Gyrotonic Master Trainer in Washington D.C. and owns Elements Fitness and Wellness Center, a Gyrotonic® studio which also offers physical therapy, acupuncture and massage therapy.
