Came here with my team after my soccer game…
And this place rocks… great customer service and ridiculously good wings. Super crispy! We ordered 50 wings and ate all of them. And got to watch UEFA Euro cup…

Food was good, friendly staff. The deep fried pickles are greasy deliciousness. Burgers prepared well, the bacon cheeseburger was GREAT!

The rare DC places where you can simply come and get a good hard drink and there isn’t a business card or wingtip shoe in sight. Every time I come the service is amazing and the happy hour does not get any better. The wings are the best in the city (no joke) and everyone who works here is super friendly and they take great care of you!

This bar is between a 2 and 3 stars for me, but I went with three due to price. Everything is pretty cheap and decent quality, and they have an attractive happy hour. I had fried pickles and they were actually pretty delicious. However, the wait staff is all over the place and inattentive. I know this place recently closed down, but has reopened under new management so maybe they have a learning curve. The inside is also uninviting, dark and has a dirty fraternity basement feel. However, this is a great place to watch sports. I would recommend going here not for happy hour or dinner but to watch soccer matches.

I came here back in my football fan days because it’s a Packers bar and there were tons of cool people but the food isn’t good, the drinks aren’t good, and it’s kind of an unruly sausage fest most of the time.

This place is a dive. In the best possible way. Friendly, welcoming, casual. It’s not too loud, but good music always. Great service. Friendly staff from the door to the bar. All smiles, all service!
And the wings… The best. THE BEST. I’d eat them off the floor– though thankfully that’s not required. Honestly, it’s the best combination of a well cooked wing with an amazing sauce I’ve ever had. Ever. And I’m a wing guy.

A classic dive bar in DC, a city where such places are increasingly getting priced out by overrated tapas and cocktail joints. The chicken wings unquestionably are the best available in the District, and Duffy has nailed the exact right flavors for all of his sauces. I made it over here weekly when I lived in DC, and I make sure to make it over at least once whenever I have the occasion to visit the city now.
This is also the best place to watch a baseball game if you can’t make it to Nats Park. Duffy is a huge Nats fan, and does all sorts of great specials to support the best team in town. When this place closed temporarily, it was the worst thing that happened to me in 2014, other than the Nats losing an 18 inning NLDS Game 2 to the Giants, all of which I watched at Duffy’s.

Have to give the neighborhood dive a solid 3. Used to be the best wings in DC, but ever since closing and reopening they just haven’t been the same. Most importantly, the wings are now significantly smaller and have less meat — duffys wings used to be massive! The last couple times I’ve ordered they have also been a bit dry (used to be doused in hot sauce), but this could just be a couple rare occasions.
Seeing as I only went go for the wings, what would have been a 5 star review must unfortunately be a 3. Love the place, but increasingly disappointed with what used to be my favorite wings in DC, if not the East Coast.

I’m a big fan of neighborhood bars so I chose Duffy’s Irish Bar for our choice to watch the Superbowl. Doors opened at 5, we got there at 6 thinking that would be a good time, hopefully just in time to eat, drink and watch the game. Well not so good of a choice. We should’ve been there at 4. By the time we got there, there were NO wings left… HUH! On the Facebook post it advertised these world famous wings, well we missed those and found out later they would not be bringing anymore out… bummer! The buffet was just okay but there was nothing much available for those that don’t eat beef. Menu items were not available because there was one fee for everything (open bar included beer, cider and wine) But for $ 40 it was not worth it, if you have nothing but cold tater tots to eat. The crowd was pretty good but that’s about it. Probably won’t ever go back :(

As I’ve stated before I’m a big fan of neighborhood bars. Soon after the first visit, I received an email from Andy apologizing for what happen and an offer for a free dozen wings on my next visit (I really appreciated that). So last night we went back. This visit was awesome!!! Wings were delicious, drinks were good, service was great!!! I will be back again… probably St. Patty’s Day!

Came here to watch the Packers. The service is quick and friendly, the fried Pickles were really amazing, the wings were great and the brats soooo delish. Great bar. Super chill.

So glad that it’s open again. It’s truly the perfect neighborhood bar. Not the corporate knock off version of them like a lot of places in DC… It just feels like home.

I’m picky about my fish and chips and wings and I really think Duffy’s gets it right. They use atlantic cod, the batter is light, the fish isn’t over battered, and the portions are just right. You can tell the fish is fresh, it was meaty and flaky at the same time. The fish and fries were piping hot which I love as I really hate cold fried food. Had two types of wings, they were fresh, hot (temp), perfectly crispy on the outside and juicy on the inside! 1) Traditional Medium Wings: perfectly medium SPICY. If you can’t do spice, go for mild! So good with a beer. 2) Chesapeake — Old Bay Based Dry Rub. This didn’t need any sauce at all. Seriously tasty.
Low key, clean, friendly, neighborhood pub. Nice welcoming vibe. I like the fact that I saw women on their own enjoying a pint and watching the game. I haven’t been here yet on a big game day, but from what I noticed the patrons and the staff were Real and weren’t trying to impress — kinda makes this find a gem here in DC.

Don’t let the reviews confuse you, Duffys is not closed. It is back and as good as (better?) than ever! Great wings, friendly service, cold beer. All the things you want in a low key neighborhood bar. While the fish’n’chips are good, I always go for the wings. Make no mistake, this is not a fancy bar. The menu is small and the décor is a little dingy. But they know how to do good bar food and that’s why I keep going back.

Duffys is back baby! Duffy is the man. The wings are the best in the city and I now own a regulars mug. Life is good.

One of the last dive bars in DC, is finally back & reopened! Bar Manager & namesake Andy Duffy’s one of the finest people you’ll meet. The beer is cold, the vibe is friendly, the place is huge & has a great location & the pub food is strong. This used to be my neighborhood bar. And while I don’t live there anymore, it still feels like home. Welcome back, Andy!

Duffy’s reopened September 19, 2015. The great neighborhood pub, it’s Best in DV Chicken Wings, and it’s original owner, Andy Duffy have been sorely missed. It’s an awesome place to watch Nats or Caps games and most any NFL team you root for. Hope to make my first return trip soon.

Was looking for a place to watch the Seattle Seahawks game in DC. We were running late so we just hopped in to Duffy’s for the first half. Place is dark with tons of TV’s. The biggest down fall to this place is that its a Packers bar. Not that I don’t care for the Packers, its just that almost every single TV was on the Packers game. Come on, sure put your big TV’s on the Packers but there were only 2 small TV’s that had any other game.
Bartender was awesome! Food was decent and drink specials were good. Get there early if you want a seat.

Randomly ended up here on a Saturday night. So much fun. Such a cool weird bar. Love how they do buckets of beer and pitches — yes. Keeping it simple and Irish, just the way I like it. I would recommend this place to anyone! Definitely coming back for the $ 20 unlimited shrimp!

Duffy’s is a dive bar with a large patio, and that’s alright with me.
The food at Duffy’s is decent for what they have. I can’t speak to the wings, but that’s what they are known for. Their tots are usually crispy and plentiful, with the right amount of salt. Their beer list isn’t the best in DC, but it certainly isn’t the worst either. It is a great place to watch a game or have a conversation on the patio. I’ve never been in there when it was overly crowded, either.
On the down side, the bar can be way too dark inside. A little more light wouldn’t hurt anyone, at least not until about midnight. Service is also somewhat slow, although they are usually friendly. If you’re getting out of a show or looking to watch a Nats game, Duffy’s is a solid choice.

Duffy’s is known for their wings. But when I took a bite, it’s definitely not the best in the city. In fact, it’s not even close. The tots also weren’t amazing. Some were soggy and too salty.
it’s a good place to hang out after a show at the 930 — probably the best thing going for them is the location. Service and management — rude and the bar manager’s attitude was was cocky and pretentious.
Otherwise it’s a dark, dank bar. Bathroom is filthy and so are the tables. The napkin appeared dirty and the utensils had visible food stains.
The beer (what they had) is ok. But the selection was weak and they were out of some of the beers that they advertised on a sign on the sidewalk. It was what brought me there. Sadly, I don’t think I’ll be going back.

We got there around 6pm on Tuesday night, which happens to be half off wing night #win. You walk right in and sit yourself anywhere to your liking. Our waiter was this cool ass dude with a sick beard who thoroughly explained the different type of sauces for our wings.
We had the Chesapeake wings and Spicy Asian. Both so different and both oh sooooo good. The cheese burger is very juicy but I wish it was a bit more seasoned. The tots are solid but it’s hard to mess that up.
I’ll be back for wing night. This is now my new wing spot of DC.

I’d been super excited to try Duffy’s because they are supposed to have amazing wings. We went on a Friday around 5:45. It is a little out of the way from the typical downtown happy hour, but I think that really made it even better because it wasn’t overly crowded.
We easily got a table for 4 outside, and the rest of the patio steadily filled up as the night went on. Duffy’s has progressive drink specials, so the beers are $ 2 until 6, $ 3 until 7, with $ 5 for 8 wings until 7pm. Reallllly doesn’t get any cheaper than that. We ordered several different types of wings — between the four of us we had the Chesapeake, Original Hot (this is their hottest), Spicy BBQ, and Garlic Parmesan. The Garlic Parm were meh, not really great and pretty bland, and the Spicy BBQ actually seemed more sweet. But, the Chesapeake and Original Hot were excellent. The Chesapeake are charbroiled with Old Bay (though they don’t taste overwhelmingly Old Bay-​ish). The Original Hot don’t come tossed in the sauce, it’s just poured over the top, and it’s not a typical buffalo sauce. But I loved it. I think the perfect combo is the Chesapeake wings with a side of the Hot sauce for dipping. All wings come with a big portion of celery and dressings.
Our server wasn’t super chipper and energetic, but his demeanor fit the «dive bar» atmosphere and our drinks were never empty. He had the refills coming and made us laugh more than once.
Overall, I’d absolutely come back for beer and wings, which is what they’re all about. It’s the most affordable place I’ve been in DC for both food and drinks. I’d highly recommend, especially if it’s nice out and there’s room on the patio.

What is a monster burger you ask? How about a .5 pound beast with all the fixins that substitutes 2 grilled cheese sandwiches for the bun. YEP — 2 grilled cheeses with a burger sandwiched in between.

Fun place to watch a Nats game, they have good beer specials, excellent tots, decent fried pickles and «cortisone shots» during Nats games. Plentiful TVs and friendly staff make this a legit sports watching location for the Packers (it’s a Packer bar) or Nats. They even play «Take on Me» when Morse bats.
Keep in mind this place doesn’t normally open until 5 during the week so check the hours before you make the trek.

This place boost themselves as the best wings ever but I beg to differ. This place may be the best wings ever if you link breaded wings (ie Hooters wings) which I happen to dislike. We ordered the wings, beers, tater tots, fried pickles, cheese fries here and felt like crap afterward! Luckily, my trusty friend Renee bought Tums for the group. LOL!
All and all, almost everything on the menu is battered and fried so don’t come here if you are on a diet. Also, wear diapers cause the bathrooms are gross!

There tends to be only one reason I find myself in this bar — there’s a show at the 9:30 Club. And it’s the perfect place to stop before a show. Convenient, never too crowded, and decent food.
There’s really nothing Irish about this place. It is far FAR from your typical Irish pub. There is none of that same décor or character here. It’s just a casual, dive-​y neighborhood bar.
The wings here are some of the best I’ve had in the DC area. Yeah, for reals. The wings are just the right amount of crispy and of good quality and size. The hot sauce is actually hot. And not just hot, it’s really hot — and oh so delicious. The blue cheese dipping sauce is ho-​hum, but not bad at all. Very superb wings. I was impressed. And I will be back for more.
The beer list is alright. Nothing extensive, but enough diversity to satisfy most every beer taste. And there’s Big Buck Safari and darts.

Great food and a good time here before catching a concert at The Black Cat. We had a couple of hours to kill so we walked over to Duffy’s and had a few pitchers of brew and dinner.
I had a bacon cheeseburger that came with Tot’s instead of fries. There must have been a half of a bag of tot’s on each of our plates. It was insane. The burger was large and delicious. Our server while not very talkative was friendly and efficient and keep the pitchers refilled as soon as we emptied one.

Kraft singles on the shepherd’s pie? For shame. Have you no dignity? The ground beef needed seasoning anyways, but the cheese squares were such a turn-​off. Stirring in the offensive squares didn’t help as much as the diagonally cut toast. I was pretty sad at the mockery made of one of my favorite comfort foods. I’m sure it was a step up from their version of the Double Down, though; I read the description of the Monster Burger with equal parts horror and fascination: «½ pound beef patty with grilled onion and bacon, between two grilled cheese sandwiches.» Duffy’s, you slay me.
Waffled between the three-​star pub experience and the two-​star food, then rounded down since restaurant is in the business name. I promise I wasn’t that mad over them being out of Kilkenny. Mixed clientele (sighted jeggings at the jukebox), brusque bartenders, assorted quality range of TVs over the bar. Décor was all over the place, but I dug most of the quotes on the walls and would probably have sported the string of Guiness lights myself. I’ll be back for a pint, but I’m leaning towards taking a pass on the food.
