Specialties

In-home/Office Training

With over 20 years experience as a certified personal trainer, I’ve helped many people in the DC area meet their goals, overcome limitations, and challenge themselves. Just starting? I’ll set you up with a complete personal training program that’s easy to follow, efficient and effective. Need to reinvigorate your current training routine? I’ll help you get past plateaus and start making progress again. Hate exercise? You’ll find a personal training experience that is not only enjoyable, but you’ll learn something in the process! No time? I’ll help you find ways to fit exercise into your life, with flexible scheduling and travel workouts.

Dealing with physical issues? Don’t despair. As you get older, your workout routine needs to adapt to your changing body. I work with deconditioned older adults, post-rehab clients, chronic pain sufferers, and others with multiple health challenges. I’ve gotten results for clients up to 92 years old. You can do it!

History

Established in 1999.

For over 20 years, I’ve been training clients across the USA, from Chicago and Miami to Philadelphia and Washington, DC. I founded DSM Fitness in 1999, with a belief that a more customized, functional, challenging, and yet personal approach to training would yield much better results. DSM Fitness has been based out of Washington, DC since 2003.

Meet the Business Owner

Doug M.

Business Owner

As the owner of DSM Fitness, I’ve been getting results for clients for over 20 years. I work with a wide variety of people, and I believe in challenging, functional workouts customized to the client.

My clients have included dancers, models, actors, musicians, marathoners, doctors, lawyers, entrepreneurs, politicians, students, military, and State Department employees, to name a few! I enjoy the challenge of creating effective workout routines tailored to a person’s unique abilities, needs, and goals.

The most challenging and rewarding part of my work involves training people with various health problems. I have helped clients with weight loss, heart disease, MS, cancer, hypertension, HIV, high cholesterol, obesity, diabetes, osteoporosis, arthritis, chronic pain, post-rehab, and many other conditions.

When possible, I work in conjunction with a client’s doctor or physical therapist in setting up safe and effective exercise programs to help improve their quality of life.
