The salon which was Digos is now and it is in upper Georgetown. Guven is a talented hairstylist and I reviewed him positively after our first encounter a year ago. The problem that developed it is that I could never schedule an appointment in advance – he kept telling me to call his cell. I felt I had to be fit in his schedule this way and if my appointment ran over 6PM, I felt he did not want to be there doing my hair. This made he and his brothers appear unorganized. I faithfully went regularly for six months then I stopped because I felt he really only wanted the 20 something or celebrity clients.(I recently saw him in a picture with Jill Biden – I am not sure that he did her hair however.)When the salon left its old location, no one was contacted, a note was posted on the door of the empty salon. Guven works with his brothers and one gets the impression of being in Fraternity house instead of a professional salon. It depends on what one is willing to tolerate in atmosphere for a great blowdry. None of the staff spoke much English or limited English except for the men hairstylists who are Turkish. Finally the last time I did ask for a not too short bob this past spring and my hair was uneven in the back, but the style was blown dry well. So I had an average experience instead of a better one each time. I am not old looking at all, but this man made me feel I should be gratefuly for his attention. I paid 20 percent for gratuities, but I felt his response was one of entitlement, instead of satisfaction in having a regular client. The new salon has onstreet parking in a very busy section of Wisconsin Avenue not far from Whole Foods.

Did a walk in for a hair cut and I’m so glad I did. I don’t remember the name of my stylist, but he took the time to talk about what I wanted and was patient with the fact that I really have no idea how to describe what I want. Using his mind-reading powers, the results were more than satisfactory. Even though this place is a little far from home, it’s very likely I’ll be back.

Great salon– I recommend Guven or Hassan. Both are great and will do a nice job making you look your best. This is a real hidden gem in the sDC alon world. I have lived in DC for 20 years and gone to most of the«top» salons. The results here speak for themselves.

Newish salon, off of Wisc. Ave. in a quiet area that’s less hectic & easier to find parking than G’town(stylists formerly of well-known G’town salons). The prices are very reasonable and they do take their time to listen and figure out what suits you. The stylists mostly do everything themselves(cut/color/shampoo) since it’s a small salon, which is nice because you get a lot of personal attention and aren’t being passed around from person to person. Also, the staff are very friendly and don’t give you attitude like other places in town. Ask for Giovanne, he’s great and I’ve been to every salon in D.C.
