Tried the salad here and liked it. There is a huge selection of toppings and dressing. I will come back every now and then, but sweetgreen is still my favorite place to have a salad.

I’ve walked by this place many times on campus and always smelled an amazing smell coming from here so my classmate and I decided to give it a try for lunch one day. This place can be overwhelming, there are so many different soups, sandwiches, and fix ins that you can make into a salad! Their selection has something for everyone and everything looked amazing. I decided to get the blackened chicken sandwich. I was happy they warmed it and made it toasty. Once I got to sit down and take my first bite into the warm, juicy, tasty sandwich I knew I had chosen the right place! I felt like they used quality ingredients and I liked how everything was already ready except for a quick warming making for a quick lunch if you are on the go! I highly suggest this place if you are feeling a delicious sandwich. I have yet to try their salads or soups but those look amazing as well!

Never left here unhappy– I think their salads are better than those at Sweetgreen and usually and a pretty good value even with meat! Be sure to ask for bread at checkout and they’ll give you a free slice. Sandwiches are delicious but pricy. The southwest sandwich is my favorite but I hardly ever get it because a salad is usually cheaper. If it was closer to $ 7, I might get it more often.

Fresh food and fast service! I think the cold drinks selection could use some help… By that I mean more freshly made drinks. The outdoors sitting area is also nicely placed.

This is a very convenient location right across from the Foggy Bottom metro and by the GW Hospital, GW campus and Washington Circle. The people are generally quite friendly, despite how hectic it can get during the lunch rush. One time; however, I came by about 3 months ago at around 2:45PM on a weekday and they were closing up and said they weren’t serving anymore. Having grown up and worked in NY, closing at 2:45PM weekday is pretty ridiculous. Nonetheless, the food here is typically pretty good for lunch. For the sandwiches, I really like their panini selections(the best is the proscuito and arugula). I also really like the blackened chicken sandwich, and it seems like whenever I go to this location, other customers are also ordering this. There’s also a make your own salad option that is pretty good and not too expensive, relative to other salad shops in the area. the soups are also pretty good and they let you try them if you’re hesitant on picking one. Overall, this is a very good option for lunch, but hopefully they don’t close so early on weekdays anymore.

Expensive take out sandwiches. Strangest Cuban I have ever had, they put jalapenos on it. Wrong on so many levels. Ham and brie rocks. One of the most expensive salads on the block for what you get. I will say always high quality ingredients and very fast friendly service.

First time here and I enjoyed it. I got the avocado, cucumber and cheddar sandwich with lemongrass mayo, an honest tea and chips. It all came to about $ 12 which I was surprised I didn’t spend more considering how expensive this area is. The space is nice and I ate inside. It loses points for cleanliness however. When I went to sit, every table was dirty including the benches. Someone didn’t come by to sweep until more people came and sat so his movement was limited and by then he could have made a sandwich with what he swept up; not to mention that’s not something I like to see while I’m eating. After many of those people left still no one came by to wipe the tables down. Otherwise I’ll be back to try the soups.

One of my favorite stops… right across the street from the Foggy Bottom Metro, so it’s very convenient for a grab and go. Love their assortment of pastries that go well with their coffee drinks. Their outdoor seating is a great place to people watch in the morning…

I have to order Devon and Blakeley at least 3 times a month for work orders and I have been so frustrated and disappointed with their delivery service. ¾ times they get an order wrong and I have to call to have them bring the correct order. I even have the guy repeat everything and they still make mistakes. I’ve complained several times about this and as a frequent customer, you’d think they go out of their way to resolve the problem, but I was just hung up on! Their food is also very overpriced and very average.

All of their sandwiches looked looked super delicious and fresh behind the counter. I ordered an avocado and cheddar sandwich, which looked amazing. I was kind of disappointed with it, and it seemed to be a little pricey at over $ 7 for a deli sandwich.

I go to this place for soup. That’s all I am after. They have great selection of soups and I love how they label meat vs seafood vs vegetable only. I also love how I could add condiments like cheese and cilantro to my soups. Most of vegetarian soups tasted good. I think price for soup is reasonable. What’s not reasonable in terms of price is everything else. Cut fruits, breakfast yogurt, salad and sandwiches. I’ve tried their a la carte salad and got charged more, so unless I can calculate how much my salad is supposed to cost in my head quick enough, I wouldn’t go back there for salad. Besides, there’s Sweet Green right around the corner. I just don’t find it justifying.

It’s near the Foggy Bottom metro so I usually stop in here for breakfast. Their breakfast wraps/sandwiches are pretty good. I usually go for the sausage, egg and cheese. All their sandwiches look tasty plus they do catering. My only gripe is sometimes when you’re ready to pay, you have to wait for someone to come from around the counter to head to the register to ring you up. I’m hoping they hire a cashier or someone to work the register at all times when people want to pay. It can get irritating if you’re in a rush. I guess I’ll have to use plan my time more accordingly when heading there for my usual breakfast fill ups. Staff is usually nice although you can tell they aren’t morning people. But I wouldn’t be either when you have to arrive at 6AM every morning to prep.

The food is ok. I am not offended by the food. I bet they charge more due to poor management of overhead, e.g. making too much food each day. Bottom line: The bottom line is too much for a sandwich.

Great selection of sandwiches, salads, and soups! I usually get the Blackened Chicken Quesadilla. Its really good! For soups, I love the chicken tortilla soup! Its perfect for a cold rain and will definitely warm you up. Devon and Blackly is conveniently located in Foggy Bottom across from The George Washington University hospital. Honestly, it can be a bit pricey, but its all worth it!

My workplace always orders from Devon & Blakely during our meetings and it is delicious. While I was walking down 23rd street, I happened upon this establishment and decided to try it firsthand. This was around lunchtime and it was packed! The outside tables were all filled and the line was pretty long. The ordering is a little disorganized with multiple people placing orders simultaneously. I ended up ordered a mozzarella prosciutto panini, a D&B hot chocolate, and a mango pie slice. I wasn’t told when my panini was ready and had to go up to the counter and look at the sandwiches placed there to find mine. This could be a little more organized so you know when your food is ready. The food was absolutely amazing. I savored every bite of the panini because the cheese was melted to perfection and the prosciutto was tender and juicy! I may not be able to buy another sandwich at this place for fear of being disappointed. The food gets 5 stars for sure. When I was at the register, my cards kept getting declined and I was stuck there for an extra 5 minutes. The manager came and then swiped a card that the previous lady had already swiped and it worked. This was an inconvenience because I had to wait at the register since the lady wasn’t fully swiping my card. Hopefully this doesn’t happen next time. Check this place out, the food is great!

One of the top DC chains that I know of for daily soups, salads, and sandwiches, I’m always recommending Devon & Blakely to out-of-town visitors when I pass it. Though the food isn’t terribly creative, the sandwiches are handmade daily, the salads are tossed in front of your eyes, there’s always a wide variety of soups(that can be incredibly welcoming during winter). It’s a lunch place that while a bit more expensive is worth the price for both vegetarians and omnivores. In particular the hummus and avocado sandwich, with pine nuts, on seven grain bread, and the avocado and English cheddar sandwich, with sprouts, on seven grain bread are both hearty vegetarian sandwiches.

The food was good enough and I’d give it three stars, but you’re especially paying high prices for pre-made food made of better ingredients. At least Jersey Mike’s slices your sandwich to order, but here the sandwiches are made ahead of time and if meant to be hot reheated in a toaster much like the ones you see in Subway. At $ 8.50 for an eight inch sandwich, I’d expect it to be made fresh so I don’t know if I’ll be back.

I have ordered food in from Devon & Blakely several times and I enjoy the healthy selection. Their soups are tasty and I love the build your own salad option. Their delivery men are also really nice. I do however, think they are a bit disorganized over there and careless with their preparation. I ordered lunch after lunch hour(around 1:30) and they took over an hour and a half to deliver. Today I found two large pieces of paper buried in my salad… gross. Because of those surprises I don’t think I’ll order from here any more.

Food quality = 5 stars Delivery/customer service = 2 stars Is it really that difficult to provide someone with the meal they ordered? Sadly, my coworker and I have had our meals messed-up more than once on delivery, so I called to complain today(which I hate to do– I understand lunch hour is busy). However, please don’t act as if bringing me the missing part of my order is a favor. Not cool, D&B.
