De Louice Custom Tailors is family owned and operated. A master tailor James Jang has more than 40 years of tailoring experience and now serves the neighborhood of Friendship Heights of Washington D.C. NW. Before coming to the Unites States in 1985, James Jang had been making custom apparel for men and women for more than 15 years in Korea. He was recognized for «Best Craftsmanship» in the field and awarded by Dept. of Labor in Korea.

Shortly after coming to the U.S., he was hired by the largest franchised custom tailoring retailers. He has won, «Excellence in Craftsmanship» awards several times. He opened and operated his own custom tailor shop at Fair Oaks Mall in Fairfax County, VA. for 15 years prior to opening a new store in Friendship Heights of Washington D.C. NW.

Before coming to the Unites States in 1985, James Jang, a master tailor, had been making custom apparel for men and women for more than 15 years in Korea. He was recognized for the best craftmanship in the field and awarded by Dept of Labor in Korea. Shortly after coming to the U.S., he was hired by the largest franchised custom tailoring retailers. He won the awards for his excellence in his craftmanship a few times.

Finally, he opened his own custom tailor shop at Fair Oaks Mall in Fairfax county, VA. After he left that location, he opened a new shop at Friendship Heights area, in D.C. NW.

Everything I have brought here has been handled amazingly. Invitation either I was especially impressed with how he mended the frayed pockets in my wool coat: I bought a piece of soft black leather and he used that to add leather trim to my pockets, completely hiding the frayed bits. Now the coat looks more stylish then it did before!
Unfortunately the hours and distance from the metro mean I don’t make it out there often. I have also shown up during business hours to see the store closed without any warning, so I feel the need to call and check that it is open next time I make the trip up.

Great service, fantastic results!
I took an off-​the-​rack Jos. A. Bank signature tuxedo to James. It was a classic cut, but I’ve got a slim-​fit build. James was able to make this tux look great on me, and for less than I would have expected to pay. I’m glad to have found such a stellar tailor in DC — he clearly knows what he’s doing.

I had to get a few shirts altered because there was just fabric billowing everywhere (seriously. I am not a slim guy but apparently everything is vanity sized these days). Brought them in, James did a quick but thorough measurement and that was it. Picked them up a week later and was amazed at the workmanship and the improvement in fit.
Another important point — I brought in a blazer I’d bought off the rack. I felt it fit me pretty well, but I wanted him to take a look at it. I put it on, he applied his expertise, and let me know that it fit well as it was and didn’t need further alteration. I really appreciated his honesty with that.
He also keeps a wide collection of swaths for custom clothing. I’m not in the market for it, but the completed products on display in the store look absolutely gorgeous.
