What a shame. Nice guy, friendly, seemed to know the business and when he left I had a good feeling. Well, a week later and a note to him asking for an estimate and no response.
The reason I’m writing this note is I got the name from HOME ADVISOR who recommended him with a 4.64 rating. After reading the reviews on Unilocal, there seems to be a problem with where are these reviews coming from. My view is this, if you say you are going to do something, you do it. I wasted a week waiting for an estimate I should have had in hours. Don’t waste your time working with this company.

We had work done by Mr. Parks & son on our flat roof on a townhome in DC. They replaced the whole roof in 2008 and said it should last 10 – 20 years. But we have had leaks, trouble getting them to come out and check, and new roofers have not been very positive about their work.
We have had leaks at least 2x since 2008. At the time they hardly responded to phone calls /​emails. It was very difficult to get them to come out and check., They couldn’t find anything. But other roofers have found things since.
When I offered them more business this spring, they were very prompt. But the work that they did was seen by a home inspector (for sale of the home) and thought to be shoddy. 3 other roofers came by to give estimates on the roof and felt that the work was «ok» but not good.

Worst of all, they have not been responsive to my attempts to give them a chance to see what’s going on. I have even offered to pay for repairs — though it seems to be poor workmanship /​materials.

We just had a complete new roof put on by Daniel Parks and were very pleased with the overall experience. The crew were great, showed up on time, and knocked out the entire roof, including replacing a cracked beam, all in one day. They took care of all the clean-​up and were careful not to let any debris fall into neighbor’s yard or onto our landscaping bordering the house.
Tom, Daniel’s son, and the foreman, Edwin, were both great in carefully walking us through exactly what the problems were with the roof. Overall I was very pleased with the process and felt they offered a competitive price.

I wish I could give them zero stars. I had a roof leak– they came and said they could fix the problem and also offered to put a sealant on the roof to avoid future leaks/​problems. Charged just over $ 2,000. The roof continued to leak– I had them come out two more times and was pretty upset that the problem wasn’t solved. Didn’t have any problems for a few months, and now it appears the leak has come back… wow. I’m not even going to bother asking them to come back– I’ll get someone else.
Like the other review said, I really can’t tell if they just are cheating people or if they are just plain incompetent!!!

DO NOT USE. I hired this company based on a recommendation from my neighborhood listserve. We had some damage to an outside facing wall. We called this company and they assesed the problem and told us we had a leak in our roof. They charged us $ 2700 to apply a sealent to the roof and put a cap on the chimney which they claimed would stop the leak. This took about half a day to complete. They then said to watch the next time it rained and take a look a the wall for any moisture to make sure they got all the weak points in the roof. Sure enough it rained and the wall was moist so I called them. They came back and in a matter of minutes told us a new story — the problem with the wall was not from the roof but the ENTIRE outside back wall needed to be repointed and sealed (note we had the entire house repointed in 2006 so that is not the problem). Sure enough they offered to do the sealing and minor repointing (not the whole wall) if needed for the bargain price (add sarcasm) of $ 1700. So we were scamed because there was never anything wrong with our roof in the first place — it was the back wall all along. In my opinion because they completely misdiagnosed the problem they should offer to put the sealent on the back wall and point for free or at most cost of the materials. Anyway, buyer beware Daniel Parks Roofing is a dishonest and or incompetent company.
