My preference is to steer clear of chain places in favor of supporting local businesses but on a cold December Saturday morning while I was waiting for the city to awaken, this Corner Bakery Café was one of the only places that looked open and was warm and inviting. The cashier was very friendly as was most of the staff. She had a group of indecisive customers, myself included, and was smiley and ready to take our orders once we made up our minds. Then she brought out our orders when they were ready. The place was nicely decorated for the holidays, and I really appreciated seeing baked goods ready for purchase. I thought I remember seeing other places kind of still setting up or getting ready but this place was stocked and ready to serve. Awesome!

I don’t usually eat breakfast but when I do, i just go straight to this bakery and it has never failed me. I always get the Anaheim panini and its always good. The place is always clean and service is also very fast. All the employees are always nice and patient even though its so early in the morning. In all, I am always satisfied when i go in, keep it up everyone.

Corner Bakery is my go to place when I want something tasty, healthy and affordable. This location gets pretty busy during lunch time so if you’re in a rush I’d recommend going to the location on Pennsylvania Ave. I waited over 15 mins. for my food then I had to go to the counter to remind them of my cookie. I ordered the Caprese Grilled Flat which is a grilled flatbread filled with arugula, mozzarella cheese and tomatoes.

Even after receiving coupons from the last time I visited this place, I have to totally write them off. I ordered the BBLT today. The bread was toasted too long — so long that I could use it as a hockey puck. A person would have to have teeth like a lion to enjoy this thing they call a sandwich. Unfortunately they have not improved one bit over the last time I was here. Even having lunch on them sucks. I will not go back.

I love the lemon chicken orzo soup… honestly, I can’t get enough of it! I make a combo with the tomato mozzarella sandwich and it’s the perfect lunch. They sweets are so tempting too… I love the lemon bar and the cheesecake square — so tasty!

Breakfast!!! LOL. Another review, same restaurant but another location. But folks this place didn’t have the fluffy buttermilk pancakes(OMG) like yesterday, they had French Toast. I gave that worried face and Cassandra(cashier associate) ensured that they were good. And she was right!!! She took my order and asked if I wanted cheese on my eggs, and gave a list of the different kinds of cheese — this with her smile put CB at 4 stars. Once I sat down and waited for my entrée, and it arrives hot, there’s that 5th star. The French toast meal with eggs and bacon was fantastic.

The customer was the worst! The employees lied to me. Management was rude. I will never return to this location.

Stopped by the other day for an afternoon cold beverage. The Mocha was made perfectly and I was craving for me of the goodness by the time I was done. I also like their lunch soup and sandwich combo — especially the paninis!

Corner Bakery is a solid spot to grab a quick bite. I usually visit for breakfast. The berry and yogurt parfait is my favorite. The granola that they use is delicious. Whole strawberries and blueberries add the perfect amount of flavor. The workers are friendly and they get you on your way with a smile. I’ll certainly be back for the parfait…

They have a great catering menu and they deliver in a timely manner. Everything I’ve tried from the brownies to the sandwiches are tasty. I’ve never eaten inside but I will soon — such a cute place.

It’s your typical Corner Bakery. Nothing stands out about it. It’s exactly what you expect. Decent food at a decent price.

I ordered the Kale salad, but apparently no one there knows what kale is. I went back to return it and they made it without kale again. Pretzel sandwich is pretty good.

Two stars here based upon awkward and fairly bad service. We stopped in for coffees and treats in between meetings downtown. The staff was slow, unresponsive and generally sour, tossing our rugula pastries in a bag and literally dropping them on the counter in front of us. Two of the coffees carafes were empty at 10:30 a.m., and the barista took forever to make a simple cappuccino. With so many other casual coffee /lunch shops within a 2-block range, this place needs to step it up.

The chicken apple sausage panini is a pretty sweet breakfast option. The cheddar is a bit sharp and the sourdough bread doesn’t mix perfectly but it’s hard to argue against chicken apple sausage, eggs and cheddar. Plus, the potatoes are good side option or the side of fruit is a nice healthy choice. The only issue is they stop serving them at 11 to prepare for lunch so if you want to get one on the weekend, you’ll have to get out of bed somewhat early Saturday morning(since they are closed on Sundays).

Normally think these and panera are a dime a dozen and not really worth going to with all the more unique lunch options. This location is very large, including a patio, and moves through the busy lines quickly. It also has tons of different options including the soup and salad or sandwich combos. Prices are cheaper than panera as well. Service is amazing as they bring the food to your table very quickly. The trios are delicious too with various salads and soup but kinda small. So keep that in mind of you are hungry.

DC has a bad rep for being unfriendly but the employees here certainly don’t apply. The few times I’ve come here for lunch or a snack they’ve been incredibly friendly and nice — beyond the norm at most places. I love the DC chicken salad, and my fav is to get the trio with the chicken salad, edamame and greek salad. I need a sugar fix one afternoon so stopped in and tried their chocolate peanut butter whoopie pie. DELICIOUS and dangerous. Tempted to come back and try breakfast one morning.

I’m a pretty big fan of Corner Bakery, which I’d never encountered until I moved to DC. This one’s just a couple blocks from my office. My most recent trip: Coupon for a free soup. I usually read the fine print but misread that I needed to buy a salad or sandwich to get the free cup of soup. No worries. Ordered me a tomato basil and a side caesar. Ended up with potato salad, which was a good excuse to have what I wanted anyway and blame the extra calories on their mistake. The caesar salad I got had far more iceberg than romaine. I would prefer them to be 100% romaine if possible, but no more than 25% iceberg is acceptable. This was disappointing and I had to resist the urge to just slather all the iceberg in the delicious dressing. Overall though, the staff here is SO nice.

Love it! All of the employees at this location are dedicated to making sure you have a great experience — morning, noon and nite. My order is always correct and the wait is minimal. My one complaint: Teach EVERYONE how to cut the cream cheese cake! Some days, I get a slice big enough to share with THREEPEOPLE — on other days, I get barely enough to make me smile. There has to be some GUIDE to cutting semi-even slices. On a day that I got a ginormous piece of a cake — the worker actually apologized for cutting it so big. I though she was being funny — but she was dead serious! I WILLNEVERCOMPLAINABOUT A BIGSLICEOFCAKEFROMCORNERBAKERY!
