Master of Legal Studies Program (M.L.S.)

The M.L.S. degree program enhances the ability of professionals to work with lawyers and legal issues, to gain a deeper knowledge of a particular legal field, and to understand laws and regulations. Students can choose to concentrate in the fields of Compliance and Corporate Responsibility, Criminal Justice, Employment and Human Resources, or Intellectual Property. Alternatively, students may choose a General U.S. Law option, which provides a broad overview of the law and legal practice.

I cam to the Columbus School of Law for a summit meeting, and I thiought it was a very nice place!
It is located very conveniently to a metro stop. It was a quick walk down the street to get into the Law School. They had signs up and directions to get exactly where I needed to go.
The classroom that I was in was really nice. There were comfortable chairs and lots of outlets to charge computers or phones and things.
Part of the conference included a lunch at the Law School, which was really good! There were very friendly and service was quick. We had salad, rolls, chicken and vegetables, and different deserts. Overall I was impressed. And it was a free lunch which made it even better.
My one complaint was that the area where the conference was only had one bathroom, and only had 2 stalls. There was always a very long line to use the bathroom.
But these is a great building and in a nice location!

This place served me very well. The night law program is top quality. Not only is it rated in the top ¼ the last time I checked, but it has a name that will serve you well nationally.
The benefits to going to law school here at night are as follows:
The staff is often professionals from the Washington DC legal community. My professors represented the US Attorney’s Office, the State Department, numerous firms, the Justice Department, and the list continues. The obvious advantage to these professors is that they have a solid real time grasp of what lawyers need to know as they come out of law school.
The Law school building is completely modern. The entire building is wireless, the class rooms are all multi level seating, wether stadium or small in size. The library provides everything a student will need for research (which is text only the first year as a student). The library is three stories, filled with computers, group meeting rooms, no electronic areas, and a student staff the is knowledgable and polite.
The class offerings are wide ranging. I knew the type of law I wished to practice, as did most of my colleagues, when I entered law school. No semester arose where the classes I wanted to take were not offered. I was able to have a wide range of general knowledge courses, and specialize in criminal law.
Student financial aid services are above reproach. I was helped my entire student life with financial aid support and questions. When I graduated they sat down with me to develop a pay back plan, and even today, 3 ½ years out I can call with questions and be given immediate support.
It is true that going to law school at night is a nightmare, and if you can afford to do so, go full time during the day, but it night school is you only option, Catholic is the best place in the DC /​Baltimore area.

Great legal education. Great professors and mentors. Great friends. But man, am I glad that I am done with that. This might be the only place in my entire list of reviews where I can say that I am really, really glad that I went, and never, ever, EVER want to go back.
