Our designs are meant to be felt.
By ‘felt’, we refer to the way our work touches all the senses. We provide more than amenity and elegance; in balancing the conventional with the unexpected and innovative, we stimulate the way in which spaces are perceived. Our intention is to heighten the sense of living.
Our design methodology places as much emphasis on the process as it does on the result. We draw from an understanding and appreciation of historical precedents and contemporary culture. We are guided by the wishes of our clients and are informed by our collaboration with many skilled craftspeople.
Our designs are modern. Using a grammar of color, materials, texture and tone, the goal of our work is to create a mood or character. We do not create forms or compositions; we shape experiences.

History
Established in 1997.
ColePrévost is a design studio, comprised of a small team of architects and interior designers. Our approach to design is holistic, where we strongly believe that all parts of a project are intimately connected to each other. Each project, be it an interior, building, piece of furniture or landscape is approached with enthusiasm, meticulous attention to detail, and is always considered as part of a consequent whole.

Business Owner
In the eyes of Robert Cole and Sophie Prévost, architecture and interior design are two facets of every project they undertake. Rather than treat them as separate disciplines, the principals of ColePrévost take a holistic approach in their work. Founded in 1997 with a mission to create a unique environment for every client, they carefully consider how everything they design will integrate with the whole, be it a living room within the home, a house in a landscape, or lighting to create a mood. Sophie is from Monaco and studied fine arts in Paris; she has a degree in interior design and a master’s degree in architecture. Robert studied architecture in NY and London, taught in London, Sydney and Michigan before moving to Washington to teach at Catholic University. Together their ‘design eye’ offers richly layered sensibility. ColePrévost’s work has received numerous awards and has been widely published both locally and nationally.
