History

Established in 2011.

In March 20 122 we realized that most college admissions consultants are just that. They tell you how to present your accomplishments in the best light to gain admissions to the most appropriate colleges.

Civica Global products and services go well beyond that. First, we ask students to embark on a process of self-​discovery. In addition to activities and accomplishments, we ask: what are their interests? What are their long-​term personal and professional goals? We help students mine every aspect of their lives, both to establish these goals, and to find narratives that will appeal to admissions committees.

Second, we encourage our students to be both ambitious and realistic in generating a list of prospective schools. We stress getting to know the potential schools. In addition to information we can provide, such as school reputations and statistics, we teach students to connect with admissions officers, university administrators, deans, and faculty members.

Business Owner

Civica Global is headed by Ashley Baker, and has helped countless high school and college students with college selection, application, financial aid, course choice, and career-​management.

Ashley is a graduate of Duke University, where she majored in English and minored in Political Science. She studied abroad at Oxford University and the University of Berlin. Additionally, she has worked for Merrill Lynch, Duke Today, Duke Asian and Pacific Studies Institute, and The Gaston Gazette.

Ashley is an expert at making it easy for high school students to create their best college applications, using self-​exploration, personal brand statements, college research, networking, and writing tips.
