Chop’t is by far my favorite salad shop. Their variety, the fresh ingredients, and their dressings, are all so good. Their dressings in particular are nearly addictive. They each have a unique taste, and are made much better than most dressings. Chop’t in particular has all the standard salads, but then has some really creative Regional styles or variations of the traditionals. This Chop’t is located right across the Metro stop behind Verizon Center. Great people, perfect location, and outstanding salads! Thank You Chop’t!

This place has a large variety of salad choices however a new person not familiar with the concept could be lost. The staff was not friendly or helpful. I ended up selecting a Cesar salad with Kale but wanted other stuff in it… boy was that a challenge and I only ended up with cranberries. The place was packed at lunchtime. I will presume they don’t need to be helpful as they appear to be doing very well. The food quality was really good. probably one of my better let’s prepare you salad places. The establishment’s name is appropriate as they really chop-up your salad so your not eating big leafy greens like other places.

I really enjoyed this place when I was in DC and wish they had them back home. I can’t remember the name of the salad I had but it was amazing. The portions are pretty big and are almost enough for two salads. Chopt should expand to the Midwest!

I was really in the mood for a salad today and work just a few doors down from Chop’t so I decided to walk down and check the line. Normally it’s out the door, but today I only had to wait a few minutes and they were actively trying to move the line as quickly as possible, which was a plus. Normally I go to Cava, but wanted to try some place different. I loved the salad! I got a Kale Caesar with chicken and it was delicious. The woman who prepared my salad listened to my dressing amount request so it was the exact right amount of dressing. As someone who likes a croûton or piece of chicken in every bite, this place is perfect for me. Honestly, the price is a little high, but you get a ton of salad and for DC pricing, it’s still not that bad.

Welcome to Chop’t! The home of the $ 15 salad and poor customer service! I like their salads, but this location is always packed and the ordering process is always so hectic. In their defense, they are located in the heart of Chinatown and I usually go during lunch. My issue with this location is the employees. The people that work here clearly do not enjoy chopping salad because you almost have to beg them to hmmmmm… let’s see… properly chop your salad. Let’s try not to name the place«Chop’t» if my preference for a finely chopped salad is going to annoy you! So, if standing in long lines and getting attitude for your salad preference is your thing, then I strongly suggest this place.

I have to say I was underwhelmed. It was exactly just A-OK. Now granted, I basically designed my own salad and I did eat the entire thing so… take this with a grain of salt. It just lacked… something I can’t place my finger on. I wanted to like it much more than I did.

I made this silly deal with myself that if I was going to eat out for lunch, I had to have a salad. So, first on deck, Chop’t. I customized my salad: spinach and kale, shrimp, black beans, corn, jalapeños, and this avocado tomatillo dressing. Well, what did we learn, ladies and gentlemen… We already knew Chopt gives you a ton of greens. The entire bowl is nothing but greens, then a little bit of everything else. Well, except for dressing. I had to stop the guy from pouring the contents of the bottle on my salad. It was tasty, fibrous, tasty, and fibrous. And did I say FIBER-ous! I’ll be back for my next salad someday soon. Because tasty. And fibrous.

Ever since I read about a cockroach that was found in a Sweetgreen salad last week( ), I haven’t had the heart/appetite to return to my beloved salad chain and have abandoned it for the disappointing pastures of Chop’t. I headed there last night to pick up a quick post-workout salad, opting for the Mexican Caesar, which the menu alerted me was a «FIRSTTIMEFAVORITE,» probably because it’s dull enough that first-timers will think that Chop’t can’t mess it up too badly. With Cotija cheese, jalapeño peppers, tortilla chips & romaine lettuce, it’s not the most exciting or filling thing in the world, so I also added chicken + avocado(an extra $ 2 for avocado, but I needed my healthy fats). The Mexican Caesar was… ok. They were out of regular Caesar dressing(how can a salad place not have the most classic varietal of all dressings?!), so I went with the suggested Mexican Caesar dressing. Though I love spicy food, the dressing was overly spicy for my tastes, really packing a punch, and the neon orange color was more than offputting. Should’ve gone with balsamic. The other downside is that they don’t offer complimentary bread with your salad, as my beloved Sweetgreen does. Or maybe they do, but nobody offered it to me? Regardless, my meal felt incomplete without some carby side. The salad combinations offered at Chop’t aren’t particularly interesting or delicious — and there’s no feeling of freshness, perhaps because it’s in the heart of dirty old Chinatown. Roach or no roach, I will be returning to my beloved Sweetgreen promptly.

I absolutely adore this place. I do not even live here but I make it an effort to eat here as many times as possible when I am in town. You basically pick from every salad possibility and they put it in a bowl and chop it up to make your own yummy creation. Think of it like a Coldstone for salads. I also had the lavender lemonade which was very yummy. They offer suggestions for those who like some help with salad design. They have spa dressings too which are lower in fat and calories.

Good evening Very clean and peaceful atmosphere. Staff is pleasant and eager to spread the Chopt culture. Salad is fresh and I’m now a huge fan of the balsamic dressing.

In all my experiences at Chop’t, I’ve received timely service and OK food. The name reflects the fact that they chop up your salad so it is easier to eat(which I found was helpful), but this is not enough to distinguish Chop’t from other salad bars in the area. The price and service style are similar to Cava’s, which is located right across the street. I would say that Cava is more generous with topping portions than Chop’t which plays a huge role when I am deciding between the two. I’ve also never run into a huge line at Chop’t which can be helpful if you’re in a rush, but also speaks to the fact that they’re not as popular. I usually choose Chop’t over Cava if I want to eat something a little healthier. It is tempting to load rice and other mix-ins into the dish at Cava, but Chop’t has more basic salad ingredients that have not been sautéed or mixed with sauces. Overall, OK food, good service. I’ve never had a problem there, but it doesn’t stand out among other restaurants in the area.

Very disappointed on this visit. The portions of fixings are getting smaller and you’re now getting a bowl of lettuce. The bread has switched from a decent piece of pita to small French bread. The price remains the same and you’re getting less. Will be looking for new salad places.

I come to this location often but later at night because the line is too looonnnggg during lunch time. The location is clean and I like that they changed the water to a self serve machine instead of asking for water from the cashier. Much more efficient and I bet most salad eaters would not want to drink soda even if it is «healthier» soda. The staff are always friendly and they usually chop the salads well. You don’t have to open your mouth to the fullest extent to bite into the greens and your mouth won’t bulge while chewing. The ingredients are fresh and tasty. I like to make my own salad. I like all of the greens and I always add arugula and don’t mind paying the $ 0.59 because they give a good amount of it. Whatever you want to add to your salad or choose any pre-selected salad option, you can’t go wrong. I like the pita bread they give too. It’s tasty and thin, not too much and not too little carbs. I prefer the spa dressings because they taste like the full fat dressings and are way less in calories. However they made it, good job!

I don’t know about you, but when I look at my salad, I like to be able to discern what ingredients are actually in it… What I don’t want is a bowl of green mush that looks like it’s been pulverized in a blender. So hey Chopt, maybe chop a little less? Appearance aside, this location was a little grimy, as though they hadn’t bothered to mop or clean in several days. The person making my salad didn’t wear gloves, and refused to when asked. None of the staff I encountered were friendly or smiling, and it was overall a blah experience. The salad didn’t even taste good. Save your time and money, and hit up Sweetgreen or Beefsteak instead.

I guess I have already previously reviewed this place! I visited again recently and once again felt it was mediocre. The dressing was somewhat wilted and definitely not as fresh as a $ 10 salad should be. I ordered the Steakhouse salad with the bacon Russian dressing. The salad wasn’t the freshest. I love Chop’t generally, but just not this particular location. The Chop’t in Penn Quarter, just a few streets over, is much better, by leaps and bounds.

Over all a good place if your looking for a salad. My biggest complaint about it is that it’s kind of expensive for a salad. $ 10 for lettuce and some toppings? I can go get a burger at lunch for this price. But if your heart is set on salad then you’ve found a good spot. There are tons of different opinions, add ons, proteins and dressings. I’m pretty set on my «go to» build my own. It includes lettuce and 4 toppings that they call«choppings» and dressing. You are up charged for protein, cheese, grains, nuts, and things deemed«premium» veggies like spicy peppers or beats. Busy location, often hard to find a seat during normal eating hours. It’s nice they make it up in a convenient Togo bowl.

Overall, a quality, healthy option for lunch. I got the kale caesar, and I thoroughly enjoyed it as a simple option for a good lunch. The price is right for a salad too, since some places can really tend to overcharge, but I did get a pretty basic salad. The whole wheat flatbread is good but definitely thinner than most places. I, surprisingly, really loved the Diet Black Cherry soda. It was such a unique flavor that I have not had anywhere else. I would go back for that.

I love salads. I first discovered Chop’t when it opened in New York, and was happy that they came to DC. During my days in NYC, I loved how professionally thinly chop’t the salads were so I could have these tiny dense bite-sized salad pieces. However, this location doesn’t chop the salads as finely as my NYC experiences. They are a bit less generous, and my salad doesn’t fill to the brim like I used to remember. I have recently began calorie counting, and Chopt makes is super easy to eat deliciously and flavorfully and keeps me full throughout the day. One salad always costs around ~$ 10 but lasts me two meals. Some of the more flavorful ones are the«hot» salad Braised Greek salad for ~590 calories(without dressing & bread), New England Harvest ~520 calories(without dressing & bread). I would suggest using the dressing they suggest on the menu. I did not enjoy the«Chopt Po’Boy» as much as the other ones. I was having a fried chicken craving, and it looked deliciously fried on the counter — but it was not good. It was cold, not crunchy – if you want fried chicken, get real fried chicken elsewhere. I wished they wouldn’t dose the salads with so much dressing so quickly because it is hard to tell them to stop when they already squirted a ton of dressing on the salad. If you’re trying to eat a lighter meal, I would tell them beforehand. I like how they strive to use fresh ingredients and have fresh ground pepper, etc. This particular location can get pretty busy, and the tables are often dirty because of the high traffic.

This location is always packed at lunch so try to arrive before noon if you don’t want to wait… However the management does its best to keep things moving. All of the salad«chefs» that I’ve had never let me down. The Kale Caesar with grilled chicken, easy on the dressing, is my favorite. If I could afford to eat here more often, I would. But at upwards of $ 8 per salad, I just recreate it at home.

Great salads for not the greatest price. They’re a bit expensive(range from $ 10-$ 14) but they’re big and tasty. I’m sure a lot of people can get two meals out of a single salad. Only problem is salads aren’t the best after they’ve been sitting around with dressing on them for a couple hours. If you’re thinking of splitting the salad into two meals and you don’t want a soggy second meal, ask for the dressing on the side. Problem solved! With the HUGE selection of salad components, it’s possible to eat here every single day for years and never get the same salad. Plus, every 3 months I believe, they rotate some«seasonal» items. A lot of times I’m overwhelmed so I just end up sticking the my usual; which I’m perfectly happy with. The line gets long here during lunch hour during the week so beware. However, they do a pretty good job staying organized and working efficiently. And to tell you the truth, they almost never mess up the order even with all the chaos.

I’ve been trying to eat healthier and really wanted a salad for lunch. My husband suggested Chop’t since it was within walking distance and we both decided to try it for our first time. He got the Kale Caesar and added romaine to it and he loved it! I got the Chop’t Cobb with a couple changes… I like that you can mix and match whatever greens, toppings/additions, and dressings you want so you can have a completely different salad every time. I really like the way they chop everything and mix it together so you kinda get a little bit of everything in every bite. Even though we came during lunch the line moved quickly and we were able to find a seat. This particular restaurant played reggae the entire time we were there which was a huge plus for me! :) Nice vibe, great salads and very helpful, friendly employees. Chop’t reminds me of Cold Stone, but clearly much healthier! :) We will definitely be back!

In concept, I always want a salad, but in practice, I’m not always satisfied. Chop’t is here to challenge that! These are satisfying salads, people! It’s been a couple years since I worked in DC, and I still think about the Kebab Cobb, and have even tried to reproduce it at home!(If only Chop’t could explore opening a location in Indianapolis, my quality salad dearth would be resolved.) The lines were pretty long at lunch, so I’d try to get my dressing and«crunchies»(croutons, pita chips, tortilla crisps, etc.) on the side and order in advance or do my salad for dinner… or both! Not all of the salads here are low cal, but the ingredients are high-quality. They have plenty of healthy options for various different diet limitations gluten free, vegan, organic, vegetarian, low cal, low fat, raw, etc.
