Functional, yet friendly. They also have fresh limes, which is nice.

they didn’t have a great selection of what we were looking for. very small, not great deals, kind of an odd vibe when we went. I can’t attest to the service, we just ended up going elsewhere to buy our Independece Day libations.

Honestly, I don’t know much about liquor shops except they are just like any other store. Sure, it’s a no-frills mom and chinese pop type establishment, but it looked like they had a good selection(for being teeny) and the prices were non too bad. Customers seemed like the run-of-the mill folks you would see at any grocery store(which is my nice way of saying no one in the store or coming in the store was sketchy). The folks were really nice.

We were staying in the area and looking for a bottle of wine to take to a friend’s for dinner. We were just about to give up, when I looked up and saw the sign. We must have walked by this place several times on our way to/from the Chinatown Metro station. I was impressed to find some good wines and nice service.

They came through in a pinch! I had to find 3 bottles of the Jose Cuervo tradicional tequila. I’d been to 2 other liquor stores and called one other. 2 of the 3 stores only had one bottle. But Chinatown Liquor had at least 6 bottles. Score!

Oh, a good liquor store, to be sure. The liquor selection is excellent and offers booze at several price points. If you want crappy $ 7 handles of Mohawk, come on in! Or maybe pamper yourself with some Grey Goose if you’re feeling rich. Also the beer selection, while small, has enough quality offerings to keep you satisfied. Chinatown Liquor does a nice job of maximizing its limited space, and like another Unilocaler mentioned, even if the line appears lengthy, you won’t have to wait very long. The clerks are friendly and every time I’ve been in there are multiple people working the counter. It suffers from Chinatown Syndrome — looks like a total dumper-pumper from the outside but you’ll be pleasantly surprised when you go in!

Beer, wine, scratch-off games and Koreans behind the counter… must be a liquor store. This one is small, not too seedy, in the heart of Chinatown, and oh, so easy. I went in. I carefully navigated my way around the mountains of drinks. I selected a bottle of Barefoot Bubbly and glanced at the queue of people in front of the counter wondering how a line could get so long. But, as I approached(this place is small, so I turned around) the guy-up-high-behind the counter, beckoned to me. I guess my line was the liquor-buying line. When I put my bottle up on the counter, he told me that there were cold bottles in the fridge. Nice touch. Thoughtful and service-minded. But it would be hours before I’d be drinking the sparkling bubbles. This place has that special neighborhood feel that I like so much.
