Description

Specialties

Bread & Chocolate offers fresh baked goods and French pastry as well as the best brunch in DC in our café. We feature a healthy menu for breakfast, lunch and dinner with Lavazza coffee and a European atmosphere.

History

Established in 1980.

Ernst Moser couldn’t get good bread. Ernst was the Chef of Henry Africa in Old Town Alexandria in 1980. Together with Ted Manousakis the owner of the restaurant they opened Bread & Chocolate 2 doors down to produce bread and desserts for the restaurant and offer them to the public in a café atmosphere. 31 years later Henry Africa is long gone but Bread & Chocolate is going strong. We lost Ernst Moser in 2009, but B&C continues to be owned and operated by Ted Manousakis and populated by those who share in Ernst’s original vision.
