Super refreshing and thriving restaurant. If you’re feeling like you’re a character in Portlandia curious about the whereabouts of how your food got on your plate then you came to the right place. So they have a rooftop garden which supplies majority of the menus fresh ingredients. It’s a cute restaurant with delicious fresh food.

So I really like Bidwell. Excellent customer service and good food. I really enjoyed that pinkish sauce that came with my burger and the crispy deviled eggs.(can’t remember the name of it) It’s in a market, so a bustling environment is expected. I would certainly return and it was cool that I could walk around sampling other stuff while I waited.

Have to remember this as a cure for the RT50 blues. Love that the chef was able to use the GF noodles from the Mac and cheese instead of the fettuccine the shrimp dish. Worked great. Intrigued by the crispy deviled eggs. Nice light and airy with outdoor seating. Perfect for waiting out Friday eastbound traffic!

I love Bidwell. Stumbled upon this gem as a suggestion from one of my friends. The food is excellent. Some of my favorite dishes are the deep fried deviled eggs, the patty melt, and I love their salad with the addition of their thousand island dressing, to die for! Also, super friendly staff. Always very welcoming!

At the newly renovated Union Market, Bidwell provides an additional delicious eating choice. The happy hour has a great selection of appetizers and drinks. The friendly staff is an added bonus while enjoying a great meal. The Bidwell burger is a great tasting choice. A patty melt style burger with caramelized onions, cheddar cheese on rye is a unique and tasty sandwich. Their house made thousand island dressing is the bomb. When you sit at the bar ask for Cassie, fun smart and an attentive bartender. For a relaxed and great meal this is the place.

Good spot for brunch on a Saturday. A nice mix of people. We met up with friends at Union Market and were able to get a table for the eight of us. The food was very well prepared. I had the breakfast burrito that they were able to make with egg whites, accompanied by a fresh, well dressed, side salad. I’m not sure if they were changing shifts or what, but the service was a bit disorganized. We didn’t help the situation by arriving in stages and splitting the check 4 ways. But, they didn’t add auto gratuity onto the check and I appreciated that. All said, a fun way to spend part of your afternoon at Union Market.

I love Bidwell — usually. Today however was just painful! I sat at the bar for about 20min, the lady behind the bar didn’t even acknowledge my existence or anyone else’s. People tried to pay their bills, get her attention but she would just not give a shit. 20min later a group of 4 came and I gladly made room for them saying I was leaving. I went to see the host and asked for the manager. The host said he doesn’t know where she is, but gave me the business card. I waited around for a few more minutes to see if the manager showed up and guess what: it was the same girl that didn’t do her job behind the bar. So what’s the point in even talking to her if she doesn’t give a damn about customers. Sorry Bidwell, but if that’s your General Manager I don’t see a positive future ahead. Also, the group of four left, and another couple also asked for the manager.

The food was slightly above what I would consider average, and it was over-priced. The service was lousy as my friend and I waited 15 minutes to be greeted by our waiter. I waited another 15 minutes for a wine that I ordered, only for it to have been the wrong order. After the completion of our meal and after having asked for our checks, we waited another approximately 20 minutes to have our bill brought to us as our waiter was laughing and joking with the hostess. Poor service and mediocre food.

Had a great experience here having brunch with bottomless mimosas. They allow you to enjoy this privilege for 2 hours which enabled us to drink a LOT, thereby making it well worth the $$. We sat up at the kitchen bar and watched the cooks do their thing and they did it efficiently and expertly. I particularly enjoyed watching them maneuver their kind of sous vide poached egg set up, producing a perfect egg every time. The service was fine, the food was good and the location and atmosphere desirable. It’s not going to blow your mind but it’s a solid brunch spot and it’s hard to beat bottomless mimosas!

Nice ambiance. Staff very helpful. Food took awhile to come out.(only because they ran out of what I initially ordered). But it was well worth the wait. Delicious! Herb roasted chicken with roasted Yukon potatoes and braised kale. #winner

Stopped in this place for brunch before walking around the Union Market. All the food we tried was delicious and seemed thoughtfully prepared. I liked the idea of small plates on the menu, so we ordered a few before enjoying our breakfasts. We went with the fries and crispy deviled eggs. They maintain a separate gluten free fryer so our friend with a gluten allergy was able to enjoy the fries as well. The fries were perfectly seasoned, crispy and delicious. They were so good, we went ahead and ordered another round! The deviled eggs were interesting, as I never had breaded and fried deviled eggs, but they were not the most flavorful. I went with the kale salad for my main, which was delicious! It was a nice size and exactly what I was craving, a nice, light, healthy meal. The husband got the mushroom and goat cheese omelet. It also was very good as were the potatoes and salad which accompanied it. I also got the juice of the day, which was a blend of kale, brussel sprouts, and fruit. I really liked it, but visually it was kinda unappealing and thought $ 8 was kinda steep.

I experienced Bidwell for the first time yesterday and can officially say that I am HOOKED! To start, I absolutely love the ambiance. Aesthetically, it has a clean décor that makes you feel like you are in a magazine and there is tons of natural light which really warms up the restaurant. For lunch we started with the Housemade Burrata which is to DIEFOR. I had never tried burrata cheese so this dish completely blew my mind. The cheese is served in a dish with olive oil drenched crostinis, roasted beets and topped with toasted hazelnuts… can you say YUM?! As an entrée I ordered the special salad of the day which happened to be a brussels sprout salad with citrus dressing, some sort of creamy cheese, fresh shrimp and citrus dressing. In general, the service, food and over all experience was a delight!

Honestly the food here was so bad, I don’t see how we can ever come back. I’m giving them 2-stars because my food was okay, but my wife’s was just horrible and they didn’t even bother to try and rectify the situation. Let me explain. We stopped in for brunch late on a Sunday morning and got seated with a 10 minute wait. This restaurant is open-air to the main Union Market. We ordered coffee that was TERRIBLE and was also cold, sent the coffee back, received terrible hot coffee instead. Then we ordered our food, mine consisting of a poached eggs benedict dish and my wife ordering a special brisket and eggs dish. Mine was meh, okay but not great. I wouldn’t be tempted to return based on my dish alone(and we both ate elsewhere in the market to makeup for not finishing our food). However my wife received a side of fat. Like, no meat! It was not even edible. The manager came over to talk to us without our asking, and inquired as to how good it was. We were like, it’s gross. He asked if we wanted desert. We were like, check please get us the F out of here. The only nice touch was that they have table side seltzer water, given to you in glass bottles. Otherwise, there are lots of other options in the market that are way better and faster than Bidwell. In discussing Bidwell with other people, apparently we were the only ones who didn’t know about how bad this place is. So I guess now we know.

I always have a great experience at Bidwell. I usually go for drinks which are always fantastic. Cassie, my favorite bartender, is always on point. If you don’t what you want to drink she mixes up some great specialties, just tell her what you like. In terms of food, I have tried almost everything on the happy hour menu. Everything I have tried has been great. Bidwell also stays open later than any of the other places in Union Market. Bidwell is one of my regular spots to have a drink on my side of town.

Came here at 1 on a Sunday. wanted to partake in unlimited mimosas but I had to do work. The lobster taco is a delicious two bites for one person. The juice of the day tasted weird. Don’t get it. Corned beef hash just okay.

I came to Bidwell for the first time in mid-November right after the Emporiyum event in Union Market. This was actually my first time being in Union Market so after we walked around a little bit we finally settled on eating at Bidwell. It’s in a great location and you’re able to see into the market to people watch or look outside at the busy walking areas… to people watch. Lots of people watching which I appreciate. First, the service was super friendly and very attentive. We were greeted immediately upon entering their space and were given our pick of tables because it wasn’t all that crowded yet. I hate to bring up something like this but the water they serve from those fancy glass bottles just isn’t cold enough. I’m someone who likes super cold water and having ice in a glass which isn’t something they do. The menu was actually pretty diverse and there were a few options I mulled over before finally deciding on the Hanger Steak eggs benedict. The steak was cooked very well and had great flavor but the english muffin and eggs benedict part were sub-par for me. They lacked flavor and just didn’t help the steak out much. We also ordered strawberry smoothies because it was an unusually warm day in November. The smoothies were more like milkshakes which was a little disappointing. Overall, I’d give this place 3 stars. I’d be willing to give it another shot though next time I’m over in Union Market as I liked the atmosphere of the restaurant and the staff was great.

Came here with friends last weekend. We shared sauteed mushrooms(meh), fried poached eggs(very interesting, could have eaten several more). I got the lamb chop small plate and they were delicious. They should bottle the juices. French fries, which had been out of the fryer a little too long. Beer selection — not overwhelming, a nice variety. Waiter — attentive and professional without hovering. Décor — understated and calming. The booths were very nice. My only real complaint is the volume of the music. It really clashed with the atmosphere(and the prices). They turned it down after we’d been there a few minutes so I don’t know if we walked in at the end of HH or if someone complained or what, but if they hadn’t turned it down it would have ruined a nice dining experience.

I give Bidwell 2.5 stars. Some friends and I came here on a Saturday for brunch. We had a reservation so seating was not a problem and it did end up being very crowded. They have $ 20 bottomles mimosas and bloody mary’s so of course most of us got that option. For food, my best friend and I shared a few dishes. We ordered the fried oysters, hanger steak benedict, lobster taco, and bacon. Fried Oysters– MEH nothing special, and for $ 3 each, I expected more Hanger Steak benedict– Decent but just OK Lobster taco– probably the best dish we had, tasty and unique Unfortunately we did not get our bacon and were charged for it but didn’t realize it until afterwards so that took off a full star in my mind. The service was good, the server was attentive, but the price and the food were just disappointing overall. We likely won’t be back to Bidwell anytime soon. Love Union Market though!
