Always quick and polite. Only issue I’ve had is that I had a leak in my brake lines and it required them to replace basically everything on that wheel’s brake system, but they didn’t catch the leak, just replaced the damage parts. It took 6 months for a warning light to come on telling me my brake fluid was low, so when I took it in and they found it, thyebhad to replace all the same pieces they had before because the brake fluid messed it all up again. Annoying but somewhat understandable. Generally if a had no isses.

Went in for an oil change and was told my truck was to heavy for the lift, he told me «7000lbs is the max» I then looked up the weight of my truck and it was 4500lbs. They lied right to my face and I’m now driving 45 mins to a jiffy lube!

I have to say, I had a very bad experience with them. I took my car in for a tune up. They told me I needed a new clutch. The new clutch burned all the way to NY and back. I brought it in again and they said I needed another new clutch which they didn’t charge me for. It still had a burning smell and was having trouble accelerating on his. they said there was a gasket that blew. They replaced that and I still had the smell and difficult driving. I took it back again and they said that they never flushed the system after changing the clutch and gaskets. When I picked up my car I had no brakes and had to get it towed back. They said that sometime when you flush the system, the brake fluid is affected. I got the car back and it seemed to be running fine and now I smell the burning again and am having difficulty accelerating or gaining power on hills. They have had a very laxidaisical attitude about the whole thing and while they have only charged me for a few additional things, the gasket, I have gotten nothing for my trougles. I would say, stear clear.

Brought my 2000 Honda Civic with a serious mechanical issue and it was resolved for a reasonable price and very quickly.
Later, brought in my vehicle for a stripped hand-​crank for my manual window. Its the 3^rd time its broke — they replaced the item and fixed the reoccurring issue that lead to its stripping over and over again.
Solid crew, reasonable prices, close proximity to my home and metro. Great place all around.

For the sake of both of our attention spans, long story short (er):
Brought in for bunch of repairs (brake pads, struts, alignment, and a bunch of other
stuff that I didn’t understand but was assured was necessary to keep my car from spontaneously combusting).
Then the fun started:
1. After driving my car home, came back out to it a few hours later to find a flat tire. Apparently they thought I’d appreciate a screw in it as a souvenir, because that’s exactly what I found in the flat. After putting the donut on, brought it back and they fixed it.
2. Also had to bring it back because they still didn’t fix the steering alignment. Then had to bring it back again a third time, and they STILL couldn’t get the damn car to stop veering left. They refunded this charge.
3. A week or so later, ‘electrical malfunction’ light appears on my dashboard. Bring it back yet again, am told apparently carbon (?) got on an electrical sensor when they did some of the surgery. Cost to replace sensor: $ 200 + labor. They paid for it, but it meant my car was out of commission for yet another day.
4. When you get your car back you better pray to the rain gods for a free car wash or plan on spending $ 20 for one. The place is located in an rocky, dusty alley.
There is not a police line around this place like there is around this review. But you might want to pretend there is.

Great service, even better location. Where else can you drop off your car in Chinatown (near 7^th and H Street), and be riding Metro within 1 minute?
I’ve had multiple services performed on my ’99 Honda Civic. Each time AYT Chinatown has been thorough and helpful. They’re never pushy or impatient and they can get nearly anything done within a day. Typically, they call me with a diagnosis before I even get to work — three metro stops away.
Although they don’t take AAA discounts, they do run their own coupon codes on their website and they also have an ‘AYT’ club that gives discounts on labor. No car repair is free and their prices seem moderate for the market.
Convenience plus good service — I highly recommend them.

Excellent Service!
I got my side view mirror fixed here for $ 50 and in 15 minutes. This is incredible, considering that the mirror was completely gone and even the best-​reviewed other places on this site said it would cost $ 240. Also, in my fifteen minute wait, I went across the street to Wok ‘N Roll, ate a delicious roll of sushi, and learned some history about John Wilkes Booth’s stop at the restaurant’s location after he shot Lincoln.
Walked back over, signed a quick paper and was done. Smiles all around and I don’t even feel like cursing out the dimwit who knocked out my mirror!
NOTE: This is not located in Shaw as mentioned above. It is located in Chinatown, less than a block from the metro.

Highly recommended! We bought a 93 Camry that had been in a front end accident for cheap, and after getting $ 2,000+ quotes from the Capitol Hill auto body shops, we went to AYT as a last resort before junking the car. We ended up getting out of there for around $ 500. This was a couple years back, and I’ve returned to A.Y.T. on a few occasions and I always get the best service.
Most recently, my car was overheating and I had to get to the closest shop which ended up being Midas in Woodbrige, VA. They didn’t complete the quoted work (long story), so I brought the car to the Rhode Island Ave Midas to get it completed. Long story short, Midas did their best to rip me off, but didn’t get away with it thanks to Andy at A.Y.T. After I yanked my car out of Midas because I didn’t trust them, the Midas shop owner personally went to A.Y.T. where Andy showed him exactly how his technicians had screwed up my car.
Then there was the time the regular mechanic (didn’t get his name) helped me scrape the tint of the car so I could pass my inspection. And the time I asked Andy for a quote to get my driver side door fixed after someone busted the lock and the door wouldn’t open, and in the process of giving me the quote he surprised me by getting the door to open.
There have been several occasions where looking back, they could have juiced me for unnecessary repairs and I’d have never known, but they were honest instead. Not to mention reasonably priced. And right next to the Chinatown metro, which makes drop-​offs easy.
