Specialties

Arrowine & Spirits specializes in estate bottled wines from small producers, small batch artisan spirits and a selection of single malt Scotch. We taste what we sell and will guide you to a wine, spirit or beer that meet your needs, budget and palate. Wine tastings every Friday and Saturday as well as free «Thirsty Thursday» artisan spirits tasting each Thursday from 4pm to 7pm (21 and over, please).

History

Established in 2013.

Arrowine & Spirits is the Washington DC location of North Arlington, Virginia’s renowned Arrowine and Cheese. Our reputation for Quality, Service and Value continues in our Washington DC location. Our ownership makes several trips each year to Europe to taste wine and discover true artisan offerings. Our Washington DC staff of Tom Kiszka and Michael Muller bring the same approach to our wine selection. In addition, Tom and Michael taste each Spirit selected for Arrowine & Spirits. Tom and Michael bring years of Wine and Spirits experience to Arrowine & Spirits and can help you find a spirit or wine to meet your palate and price point.

Tom and Michael bring years of experience in the wine business to Arrowine & Spirits. Both have experience in sales, wine brokerage and importing. Both conduct daily wine and spirits tastings with industry experts as well as grower– vintners and small batch artisan distillers. Together, they have curated an extraordinary selection of wines, spirits and beers.

This place is a real gem, and such a pleasure to visit. Each employee is extremely knowledgeable, friendly, and helpful. The store carries unique, high-​quality booze in a range of price points, and every time I visit, I leave with something new and exciting to try. The employees have never steered me wrong with their recommendations — I have loved every single purchase I’ve made! I definitely recommend that you stop by – you won’t be disappointed!

I’ve been meaning to write a review for Arrowine & Spirits for sometime now, so this praise feels long overdue. This is truly a unique liquor store in the very best way. I’m always greeted and asked how I can be helped by the very friendly staff– and on Fridays around 4pm, patrons are invited to participate in a tasting of some wine that’s usually at a special price. Every bottle (wine, beer, liquor) in the store feels like it’s been curated, as everyone who works in the store has recommendations and an in depth knowledge of the products. I also appreciate that if you’re looking for something within a certain price point, they’ll help you find something great that won’t break the bank. Nothing in the store is generic or low-​quality. Even though it’s a small operation, I never leave this place unhappy or empty handed– they always manage to help me find exactly what I’m looking for! Definitely check this place out– they most likely have exactly what you’re looking for (and more).

Long overdue review. We’ve been going to this specialty wine and liquor store since it opened. Michael and Tom are extremely knowledgeable about their wines. Have never gone wrong with anything they carry! They have wine tastings every Friday evening and Saturday. They tastings are the highlight of our Friday! We walk out with a tasting bottle 90% of the time! They specialize in rare gems from all over the world. You won’t find a Beringer or wine by the box there. They also sell small batch spirits and beer, but we prefer our reds and whites.
I’m posting this because we had a dinner party on Saturday and everyone loved the wine we served, courtesy of Arrowine. It was a Cotes du Rhone and it was sublime! Our guests loved the wine and took photos of the bottle to try to find the wine! Go check it out if your looking to impress at a party!

I had recently eaten at Little Serow and Rose’s Luxury and loved the wines I had and tried to find them at several wine stores in the area. I was having no luck so I read a Unilocal review on Arrowine & Spirits and was pleased to find out that it was located down the street from my office. When I entered the shop, I was a bit surprised at how small the location was (little sister to it’s bigger store in Arlington), but they had 1 of the 4 wines I had been looking for, and recommended 3 others that were very similar to the ones on my list. I’ve tried two of the wines and they are delicious. The staff is very knowledgeable and friendly and as a novice wine drinker, I’m happy that I’ve found my go to wine shop.

Great for what it is, a speciality liquor store in a small venue. If you’re looking for a handle of Popov or a sixer of bud light, this is not your place. If you want whisky made out of quinoa, local gin, or amazing free wine tastings check it out. Beer selection is small, but they have some really great wines and hard to find spirits and mixers. Come here to find something special or new. The owners and staff are super knowledgeable and friendly. A real gem.

Yep, they pack a lot into a little store. Kudos for the selection. That’s what the two stars are for.
–But– they are incredibly rude. They couldn’t even be bothered to greet me as I came in. Okay, they were busy helping other customers. I understand that it can be distracting to look up for a second and say «hello.» So I then stood patiently for 5 minutes waiting for them to finish with the previous customers. No one said «I’ll be right with you,» or «We’re a little busy right now, but feel free to browse» but I can deal with that.
No, what blows the deal for me was that just as the other customers left, a new guy came in, and the two sales guys both jumped to help him immediately and continued to ignore me. So I left.
My guess is that I don’t fit into their target demographic. Sure, they may be knowledgeable, but I’ll never know. Since I don’t foresee becoming a middle-​aged white man any time soon, I’m not going back.

This fantastic little wine and spirits shop has an amazing, hand-​selected inventory. The guys there are incredibly knowledgeable about their products (which change often). They’re happy to help you find the perfect wine or scotch or whatever you need, and also host some great tastings. A perfect little DC complement to their larger VA location.

After an all day walking experience, we were greeted by three kind and knowledgable men offering a free wine tasting. We walked away having met some of the nicest DCer’s, several bottles of wine, cold beer, and a new gin recommendation. If you are staying or live in the area, this is going to be a great neighborhood establishment!
