So sad to see this fun store close after 10 years! Will miss you Douglas and Christopher!

Ever wanted to spend $ 1200 on a lamp? No? Neither had I until I visited Apartment Zero while on lunch break from jury duty. This store is a modern design lover’s dream, but what really sets it apart is the customer service. I only(only!) purchased two salad plates(for $ 40 no less), but might as well have been ordering a custom fabric chair(I covet their safety-orange colored chairs) with the level of attention I received. This level of service did not go unnoticed. Rest assured that the next time I need a $ 500 cocktail glass holder, AZ will be my first choice… –the DCGF

this is my favorite furniture and design store in DC. way better than design within reach, plus the owners(who are usually in the store when it is open) are both extremely knowledgeable and helpful. some of the other shoppers can at times be a bit pretentious, but the items for sale are just amazing. while the store is quite small(make sure to look behind the large wall to the right because there is more behind it), the selection is exceptional and reminds me of some of the best design stores in Amsterdam.

Funky store highlighting modern design with lots of furniture and accessories from Italy, Sweden, Denmark, etc… Staff was super friendly and helpful and even provided us with alternate directions to their store because of traffic caused by nearby D.C. events. They have some really cool products, offer customized solutions, and as Gayle mentioned, they also can provide design services(see portfolio on their website).

This is the place to go to give your own house a cool, hip look. This is the store that has the latest in furnishings and accessories. What is neat is that the store sets up an actual apartment, with a dining area, living room, and bedroom, all of which feature stuff from vases to pillows. From their website it seems that they offer design services, but I have not taken advantage of those yet.
